please say no. this is a melee tournament ffs. if you want a setup for guilty gear, bring your own tv and the game. and even then it's still annoying because i want to play people in MELEE, not watch them play other games. go practice guilty gear on your own time. this **** is getting annoying as ****.

if its a tourny for X game, bring and organize your own setups for games Y and Z please

it still means other people will be playing with you, and therefore they won't be playing melee. like at your smashfest, larry just played guilty gear or w/e that crap was all day, along with nes and atlus and other people I wanted to play with at various times. If I would've known that I wouldn't of came.

i didn't get to play larry once. not once. i played nes a handful of times when we were both tired as ****. i dunno, it's just an annoying trend of "hey let's go to a tournament/smashfest for melee but then split into groups where some people play melee and some people don't." for people like plan 9 and leon, who don't play melee, then w/e. for people who normally play melee, that detracts from the rest of the experience since the melee community is small enough as it is. so i'd simply like to know if there are going to be 3rd strike / guilty gear setups, and if so i know beforehand i don't have to go.

It doesn't really matter, I'm fine without GG but I'm not sure how Leon and Plan 9 would hold up.

no, let people do whatever they want. i'm definitely not trying to make people bend to my will. if i'm the ONLY person who disagrees with people playing 3s / GG, then that's fine. I'm NOT trying to convince people otherwise, I just want to know so I don't have to show up and waste money.
Riptide's hosting the tournament though, so it's his choice. He's just doing a ****ty job of it so far. Speaking for myself, I don't want to go to a tournament far away when I don't know exactly how many people are expected to be there (very important in terms of doubles -- if there are 12-14 people, that's 6-7 teams [assuming everyone even enters, which is often not the case], which is maybe BARELY worth my time), and especially if other people are busy playing other games.

connor i dont hate melee. im just not driven to learn it. ill be brining my 6.5x7.5 inch tv for not-melee, but that shouldnt be tournament breaking. idk, im sure the tourney will run smoothly as tournaments go, even with some of the entrants playing gg/3s in their off time. if all other games were banned wed just play foot tag anyway. >_>

bottom line is, if you wanna play someone, go up and ask them.

i'm sure smashers are not that unreasonable.
pretty sure plan 9 who had brought 3s to connors was asking to play melee with everyone the whole day too, regardless of who it was with.

there were few good people to play in singles at connor's.
you: too scared to go sheik in friendlies, zero interest in your ****ty secondaries
lovage: played him a lot, he's good
nes: didn't get to play him often, dunno what homey was doing
larry: hardly saw him play melee at all besides a couple of teams the first day
atlus: switched off, probably evenly; played him a decent amount, he's good

idk. its too developed? it just doesnt seem too intriguing to memorize everything about 4 matchups thats been played out hundreds of times.
