Well, you never know what Sakurai and the development team will think. We're not even in the same country, maybe Japanese people are more to the point. If it took as long a time to make a seperate character as it took to make Zamus it's possible. It's not like it matters how many spaces are taken, Ridley is as good as a representation of the evil side of Metroid's series as you can get. Kraid has sucked for the last twenty games. Dark Samus has a shot, but there's not much that he/it can add to what is already there with Ridley and Samus. Obviously, it'd be great, but I can't see there being two new Metroid characters in one game when 'Melee didn't have any new ones.

If ZSS is just a transformation then they should include DS and Ridley, if ZSS has her own spot they could still include DS, it's not like there's anyone else worth putting in.

Ridley should take up a spot before Dark Samus. He's been in nearly every Metroid game.

i want DS, but if we had just ridley id be ok with that too. to me 3 representatives for metroid (samus/zamus, ridley, and dark samus) would be very reasonable in terms of representing the serie, particularly the newer games.

Yaa. Metroid deserves more characters than Pokemans or Fire Emblem for sure. I don't know anyone who likes Fire Emblem, and Pokemans doesn't really have characters. Personality-stripped enslaved animal mutations.

I think Dark Samus should be an alternative outfit for samus, i think that spot could be used for a more original character altogether rather then what would probably turn out to be a clone.

Dark Samus as a clone... Whoa, that would be awful. He/It wouldn't work out as Luigi, as only the A moves from Samus would make any sense with him/it. He/It doesn't use bombs, or projectiles, or charge a massive laser like Samus,

i could so not picture ridley in it but i suppose that him + dark samus are the only 2 from the samus series that could be secret guys in brawl

They are the only acceptable ones. Kraid, Motherbrain etc. are either too big or dead.

What if they don't include Ridley, DS or the hunters and they put in a Metroid? I'd freak, that's ********.

Moveset for metroid:
A- energy drain
AA- energy drain
AAA-energy drain
A>- energy drain
A^- energy drain
Av- energy drain
B-energy drain
B>-energy drain
Bv-energy drain
B^-energy drain

You get the drift.

Metroid would probably only take a fifth as long to create as the rest of the characters with that moveset.

I feel like this topic is a broken record, this has come up way too often it's just not funny anymore.

You do know they can resize him to fit the game right? They did it with Bowser and Kirby, so they can easily do it with Ridley. Seriously, the size argument holds no water, so drop it.

And angelsandairwaveslee, I thought you said you didn't care about this topic anymore.

they didnt really resize kirby and bowser -.-

If you compare with the NES bowser and SUPER MARIO from NES

then youll see they didnt resize him that much but RIDLEY is DIFFERENT he is FAR too big

Bowser and kirby didnt cross the line even if they were resized but RIDLEY IS JUST TOO BIG

get it? they cant resize him that much therwise it would be a too big difference from the normal Ridley

just think about it

Ive been playing all Metroid Games and seriously even if they resize him they would have to make him much much smaller and that would be abnormal

They resized Ganondorf. Go play Ocarina of Time--in it, adult Link is up to Ganondorf's shoulders when he is kneeling. In Melee, adult Link is up to Ganondorf's shoulders when Ganondorf is standing upright--he's half of his normal size.

Bowser has never been that consistent in size, but he's normally been a lot bigger than Mario, moreso than he is an melee. Kirby is meant to 8 inches tall, but you wouldn't have guessed would you when he's not that much shorter than Mario. Heck, Pikachu is meant to be rat size, but look at him. Characters have been resized before, and they can easily do that with Ridley.

And did you see the melee intro? Obviously not otherwise you would've seen a Ridley not that much bigger than Samus, a perfect size for a smash game and not looking abnormal as you'd claim he'd be.

Trust me, you aren't the first person to suggest Ridley is too big, we've been through this before and it's been settled that it holds no ground against his inclusion into Brawl. If you want to argue against Ridley being in Brawl, come up with a better reason first.

Ridley can be resized, check bowser from SM64 and beyond, hes way bigger than mario, yet hes just a tad bigger in melee, u cant really consider bowsers size in the 8- and 16-bit era, i mean there wasnt much u can do...

Ridley is too big? cmon have u EVER seen the melee intro? that size of ridley would be perfect, maybe just a tad smaller, no one will complain, i like to use something called imagination, u?

also kirby has infinite jumps in his games, thus he in melee? now, just give ridley major weight and 3-4 multiple jumps and that will do...

Edit:
Ok compare ur pic from above to this one, an actual SMASH pic

I wouldnt complain with that size...

Good post, Stryks. You're absolutely right. They've resized everyone in the games, you have to be blind or a moron to not see this. Ridley will get the same treatment as Ganondorf, Bowser, Kirby, Pikachu and Pichu.

Nice find! I'm going to use that pic as a reference, should I run into anyone who complains that Ridley won't get in, due to his size!

Again, your argument holds no water. Why you ask?

1) On the NES Metroid (the original) Ridley was just like Bowser. He was like a foot taller than Samus.

2) You said you've played all the Metroid games. Well, seeing how my first statement is completely true, you haven't played all of the Metroid games.

Paradox'd. I don't see him arguing any more over Ridley. There's just no reason.

True, but he was really the only one left to argue with. Without people to disagree with, this thread will get boring and die. So let's hope for his return, (or someone else's).

You may be right. There is no such thing as peace when it comes to Ridley.
