It was supposed to be. I was attempting to pass it off as a random vote so that he wouldn't be so carefully looking over anything he types for scummable material and I could get an early read off. It was less likely for me to get a reply from Maven since randvotes are pretty nonconsequencial, but I figured it would be less susceptible to having scumminess filtered out. Unfortunately, that plan is busted now because any scumminess that wouldn't have been filtered is now going to be filtered.
What?

"I want to vote him so I can look at his material without tipping him off but randvotes don't get responses so I'm not gonna get what I want out of this."

So you placed a vote on a target for a purpose of investigating him but then make zero moves to do it? You want to pass it off as a random vote despite the fact that it's not random and you want something else out of it? You want to get information from it but you acknowledge that your method isn't gonna work? So why even do it?

This doesn't add up.

Because imo it was more focused on a vote that wasn't mine. I can't explain mtself if hes quesyioning your vote
Not terrible rationelle, joking rationelle. I see that attempted humor isn't welcomed in a game, so my apologies (and I apologize for inevitably using it further throughout the game). I picked Maven because he's the only one I've played with before and I wanted to see him post some more to tell how different his content isis.

Yea Laundry is right. If you were voting him to compare his behavior to the other time you played him, why did you think passing it off as a random vote so he wouldn't get an actual reaction would be a good idea?

^I literally spit out my pepsi at that reasoning. Mainly from laughter.

Rosa, do you have another reason towards that vote?

It's mostly RVS. He seems the most scum right now, but not so much that I would actually vote him if this were, say, mid-D2.

I was gonna act more on it, but my break ended in band camp, then I went over to a friend's house to watch Furious 7, then I got home around 11:30-ish. I had no time IRL to act on it before you guys started questioning me on it and I had to reveal what I tried to do.

What I actually said was:

"I was attempting to pass it off as a random vote so that he wouldn't be so carefully looking over anything he types for scummable material and I could get an early read off. It was less likely for me to get a reply from Maven since randvotes are pretty nonconsequencial, but I figured it would be less susceptible to having scumminess filtered out."

My reasoning was that if he responded to a randvote, he could be more careless with his response and reveal some stuff that would lead to a scum read. There was less of a chance that he would respond, but if he did, I would probably get more out of his post to get an early read. This is only my game 2, so I'm still figuring out early game.

But you also pointed out that it was less likely for Maven to respond since it was a random vote so really, what was the point? Slap a vote down and hope Maven does some scummy ****? What would you have done if he didn't?

We should all Vote Kantrip.

My pool is starting in a few minutes, but I've at least read the thread.

Come to think of it, I haven't actually heard from Maven in a while. I can't get a scum, neutral, or a town read on someone who isn't posting.

@Maven89 are you there?

Because i don't really get anything from running this further atm, at least not something i don't think i can get by watching maven get on him (which i assume he would since its a dig at maven and he usually comes around when his name is dropped like that)
Well what else do you have on your mind? What other things do you think we should be running further, considering there's really nothing else going on?

@Raziek I know is not day 3 yet, but anything to say? @Kantrip too.

I don't like how this is phrased, I'd understand singling out Maven since you were trying to get a read out of him, but your reason is because he isn't posting when at this point in the game no one really is saying much except Laundry.

Forst off i don't think raz is playing
Second, i dunno. Waiting to see how kantrip comes in off of having ryker and gheb go at him. Maven posting would be nice

Also I can see where you are coming from, but if you take a wait and see approach so early in the game nothing will get done, its not like running it further would have negative consequences for town since nothing is really happening aside from that.

Guess who boys?

Alex, tell me straight, are you scum this game or are you gonna work with me?

I'm very confident in my ability to read Orbo/Dietz if they actually play the game and if they coast, I'll just lynch them.

J, I will still be more than willing to lynch you if I cannot read you. Please do me a favor and do not coast around in the beginning of the game. Go out of the way to give me something to work with when I need it and I will go out of my way not to read you incorrectly.

Rake, friend, pal, homie, chum. How active do you think you're going to end up being? I intend to talk with you a lot this game.

Fanny, have I actually played a game to completion with you on SWF? If so, can you tell me which? I legitimately don't remember one.

@ Spak Spak Common site culture is to let me do whatever the hell I want and hope you're on my team. You're new to me, so if I have trouble reading you, I will attempt to remove you. I advise answering my questions and proactively interacting with other players so I do not pay as much attention to you.

Gheb, I like you. I just wanted to vote Kantrip because you were doing it. I have since decided that was a poor decision as I may be mistaken for crumbing a Gheb role. I claim not Gheb. @ RosalinaSGS RosalinaSGS should I not have just said that aloud?

Maven, how helpful will flavor be considering we are playing a game based on DGames history?

I'm really looking forward to this game.

Then talk with me. That's the best way to get me involved into D1 is to force me into questions/trails. I get more involved the more connections I see. I'll start the avenue, what do you make of Laundry and WoTs debate currently? Since you said you feel confident on reading WoTs, I'd like some insight since that slot is always 50/50 for me. The only time I read them correctly was with Sang as Moira in my last game on here.

Side-bar: Your playstyle *first post* mimics old-Swiss style with the talking to everyone individually, but I also recall you doing that often as well.

Laundry you are a hack, everyone knows Flips are the superior cereal.

Vote: J tho, if you are going to star a mafia thread with a Phoenix Wright sprite, you gotta do it right:

Do you find Orbo and Laundry's interaction forced ?

As for it being rationelle for him being scum, it's as much of a rationelle as you voting for Rake because he has the word "Jabroni" in his name.
Why are you comparing apples to oranges and trying to sell it as lemons ?
Did you really need to justify your vote like this, and why did you feel the need to justify it like this ?
Why assume maven wouldn't post more on his own ? What does different content mean contextually to you ?
