Developer:Ubisoft
Publisher: Ubisoft

Release Date: June 09?/Quarter 04(September-December)
Motion Plus Supported

From the looks of it, we can duel wield this time around?

Although the Art Direction took a sudden turn for sure. I cannot wait to see how this game will look. And yes despite Red Steel 1 bugs, it was a solid game at the time.

I like how they make the sequel to a mediocre launch title the cover story and then hide the NEW ZELDA GAME up in a small bar at the top. Way to know what your fanbase cares about, Nintendo Power.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that...

Except any one who's a Nintendo Fan already knew of this stuff since it launched. Nintendo Power not even owned by Nintendo any more.

Also Red Steel 2 is not even a sequal to Red Steel. Its a Reboot.

Go Nintendo said:
- Red Steel 2 is a series reboot
- runs at 60fps
- takes places in the fictional town of Caldera (think Tokyo meets Reno)
- when Ubisoft saw the MotionPlus, they decided to reboot and take things in a new direction
- cel-shaded style, much like XIII
- aiming for Teen rating “The gore just doesn’t fit for us and what we’re trying to do”
- no multiplayer
- Wii MotionPlus exclusive (can only play with Wii MotionPlus?)
- dual wielding Gun and sword might happen
http://gonintendo.com/?p=80814

EDIT: Screen shots.

And currently my favorite:

huh. Interesting. Haven't touched the Wii in almost a year now. I'm hoping this or the conduit gets me waggle-ing again.

Wild west seems more intriguing than Japan for a shooting location, although swordplay seems a bit out of place there, as do the cel shaded graphics.
However, I have played through the first few missions of the first game, and I am enjoying it, although it hurts my arm after playing for a while lol, so hopefully this'll be good, if not better.
How would dual wield work, would it force you to use the nunchuck for the sword, or just allow you to swap between sword and gun during the game whenever you want?

The graphics seem good, especially if they'll be similar to XIII, but lack of multiplayer (is this just online or lack of split screen as well?) is disappointing, and may make me not buy it- the Wii needs a split screen co-op FPS, and I can't think of any that are available (I don't care for online).

Question though, will it be necessary to have Motion Plus to play the game, or will it just increase the aiming capabilities?

I'm just surprised Ubisoft haven't slapped the Rabbids in the game.

Ironically, Rabbids were actually first seen in game in Red Steel. In the mission to take back the guy in charge of the Gaming District, a Rabbid are pretty much every where, but the main cameo is the scream.

Also Red Steel 2 takes place in a city described as a mash up of Reno and Tokyo.

Is this becoming a theme for Wii games?

First Madworld simply uses every generic baddy they could find.
Then Excitebots uses every racing minigame idea they could think up.
Next The Conduit will use every conspiracy theory in existence.
And finally, Red Steel 2 will do every wii-mote fan dream.

What's next; Sonic will use every gimmick ever invented?

Not that any of this is a problem. Cowboy mafia samurais are awesome. And I am the type of person who loves randomness for the sake of randomness; it adds a lot of variety to life.

But please no team "jedi motorcyclist werehogs" in the next Sonic game.

Just got my issue of NP today. I really disliked Red Steel, but man, this game looks to promise me so much. I love westerns, I love feudal Japan, I love the idea of Wii Motion Plus. I must say, this is the best issue of NP in a long time, as it is just full of great games.
But please no team "jedi motorcyclist werehogs" in the next Sonic game.
I prefer Jedi Super Saiyans on motorcycles that can transform into Shiva.

You know what would be awesome with a Samurai Cowboy game?

Ninja-Pirates, Ninja-monkeys, zombie-aliens, vampires, were-wolves, Rabbids, and any other combination of two stock characters that can be imagined.

Unless there is a storyline explanation for why there are Samurai Cowboys, in which case, keeping with a theme is good. But in my experience, it's always more fun to battle a wide variety of enemies (each type with their own "feel" and style) without a pretense to realism then to battle a specific type of enemy that fits in well with the story.

Although I think Halo had a good middle ground. Half futuristic war fighter, half survival horror, and a duality between two (three?) radically different and waring enemies.

Actually I thinks its the true fanbase that cares more about Red steel, a third party game made by Ubisoft than the "Casuals" who will care more about the new Zelda game. Funny how things have changed huh?

Oh God no.

I remember buying this and being so excited at the motion controls.

Then I saw the motion controls.

I never went to the dojo because that involved "learning" new attacks by trying to do what it told you for half an hour, then waving the stupid controller around, then giving up in disgust. The sword-fighting was terrible and the FPS mediocre. Worst shooter I've ever played.

Funny how the "true" fanbase thinks that FPS's are made for them, and near everything else is made for casuals.

You do have a point, the sword fighting could had been better, however I think the FPS was good, just that the controls of the game is just ******** unless your good with motion sensors controls in every way. If it took you a "half hour" to learn the controls, then your not that very good with motion controls. =/

I find that way to often, the motion I'm supposed to make and the motion that I find most natural to make are different, and thus, I fail at whatever I was supposed to be doing. I hate it when the controls do that.

On the one hand, we know that the demonstrated level of graphics is completely possible (Conduit).

On the other hand, it's Ubisoft.

You know, that screenshot explicitely states "For Internal Use Only" in the lower right hand corner. You think they would have editted that out or something.

And the trailer is already quoting IGN in spite of being the very first one.

Awesome trailer, hope the gameplay allows you to use the sword like the trailer did. Also, I thought this game wasn't going to be multi player... I guess we will find out.

This game is going to be so ****ing epic now. Even the graphics is well done for the Wii. This better be 10x better than Red Steel.

♣ I hope they fix the part where the enemy dies, at least have them fade out when they die and not their body blinking. But other than that, this game looks cool for me to own. ♥

I kind of dislike how you have to play the motion + to play this game. Also Viper, me and Lovely is at E3, I wish you could had came. XD

I bet Lovely's all over the Sony part of E3, lol.

On topic: do this game have to use motion+ controls or are you just pulling my leg? Because that means I might have to waste $20 just to play this game.

I want this game to have two different options so I don't have to buy one to play this game unless it come's with one.
