Hey guys, I need some help recovering with Falcon vs Samus. My roomate has been maining with samus since the n64. he just missiles and powercharge shots all over the place. If I get knocked off the stage I am basically always screwed b/c of his freaking missiles. If I somehow manage to get on the stage I get blasted by the charged b. Any help? Maybe just vs samus in general?

Hug the wall. Missiles can't get you there. If he hits you, tech and recover. If not, just get on the edge. As for the Charged Shot, a shield usually works. Or you can jump off the edge. Or you can edgehop. There's plenty to do, especially if he's gonna be predictable and use the Charge Shot every time.

Yes, halfDemon covered it well.

Basically stay below the blast line, if you do that his shots simply cannot hit you.

Here's a crap *** diagram

____________ blastline----------missles-------chargeshots--------
........................../
......................./
................../
.................|

see? if you can stay in that area then you're basically set and his projectile edgeguarding fails.

mindgames son. yup these experience players have covered it well. Nairing missles and like halfdemon said, pullnig out a shield when a charged shot comes will help also. hell, if your lucky, you can reverse the shot towards samus if you shield at the right time xD

Awesome, thanks for the tips guys. There is a slight problem with being out of that line though, it's kinda traditional for us to play on fd. So unless I stay in the air I'm done for. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some noob that can't dodge missiles, I just can't dodge the missiles/charge shot in the air when I am halfway off the map.

Anyone have some vids of Falcon in this situation and successfully makes it back? Or something similar?
I can beat my roomate if he uses any other player b/c I rock with Falcon, his only chance of ever winning is by using samus and spamming missiles. It's so frusturating!! >:-(

Stay low when you recover. Drop down below the stage and ride the wall as you go up. The problem though is that his charge blast can hit you the split second before you grab the ledge if he times it right. But this can be teched anyway.

Too bad you can't shoot missiles like that. Look at Hugs vids and his missile spam edgeguard. I know that Hugs missile spam edgeguards in Hugs vs Wes, search for that on youtube.

Thanks for all the help guys. Just one more question: How do you hit samus when she is coming back to the stage using the bomb tactic? Her bomb and up b seems to make her invincible.... :-(

Run out and uair, back air works very well, even nairs if she's up high and bomb jumping.

Moonwalking is useful in this situation but I won't suggest it to a novice.

And as it's been said earlier, simply get below the blast line, if you're really high up double jump over then down b then you have your double jump back and you're at a better position.

I know it was long ago, but thanks again for all the advice guys! Since then my roomate is unable to defeat me with any character. I completely soared to a new level of playing and mop the floor with him. If it wasn't for you guys I probably would've been too frustrated to continue to get where I'm at today. What worked for me specifically in this situation is just being completely unpredictable and becoming faster. The faster I moved the less he was able to hit me and therefore I wouldn't fly off the stage and have to try and recover. Also ledgehopping and just practicing all sorts of recoverys did wonders. His samus is now garbage to my unbeatable falcon, since then he started maining mario....Hahahaa. He thought he could cape the knee....Hahahaa, I spin around because of the cape but my momentum makes me keep going and connect my knee to his face anyway! Go Falcon.

Charge shot you are sort of ****ed, but you can knee it if you have enough time. Missiles aren't too bad, alternate between fastfalling and normal speed to move between them.

When dealing with bombs you can just upB/sideB into them, bomb hurts you so you get your jump back.

LOL @ PC Jona

Yeah, we've been here quite a bit, but as you can tell from my post count I haven't been as active as I should...I've been busy playing smash! lol

@TresChikon - I might have necro'd lol but you have just spammed...I was staying on topic ;-)

I've actually managed not to worry about the charge shot. My roomate has terrible timing when it comes to that and he lost his touch with his missles because I never allow him to use them...lol I'm too quick. And my car battery - to - face flying knee attack breaks him every time.

I usually don't disagree with you as you always seem to know what you're talking about, but we can't have you misleading other players, now can we?
Falcon can't sweetspot the ledge with his Up+B, ever.

Although about learning to hesitate your double jump is very important.
Edit: oh hi I read the rest of the thread. Lol misunderstandings.

Darkrain pseudo-sweetspot works more than it should.
