I think they'd try to make it a little diverse. A few tracks from the first 3 then a couple from Origins/Legends. As long as they don't go the Sonic/Pac-Man route and just remix like 2 songs.
Sonic has music from across his franchise (City Escape and Rooftop Run were hype), Pac-Man has a lot of old Namco music... Mega Man is mostly 8-bit medleys. Snake had Metal Gear music and music from a game that wasn't even out yet.
I can think of a few other good candidates, but who I think those are is probably already obvious... XD
This. They tried & the Wii U just didn't have a big enough audience for the amount of money they put into the Wii U versions, doesn't help that the people who own the Wii U own it only for exclusives (whether as their only console or secondary console).

Smash will never have enough waifus/eye candy for people, I'm afraid.Shantae seems to be all the rage on Miiverse.
But it made matters worse, because Ubisoft released the game around the time when big games like GTA were coming out, not to mention many consumers pre-ordered the Wii U version, and bought the Wii U Just for the game, only to wait a year with no games, then to get news that they didn't need the Wii U in the firstplace.

Heh, its far from just that my friend. The Shantae campaign has been thriving lately.. and it only continues to grow.

Just to throw my two cents, she's more than just fan service. Think of her like Samus, despite her physique, she's quite the badass character and have amazing quality games.And why do you think it's thriving?
Maybe from the huge cult fan following the loyal series has? Plus from the big traction it's gotten from Wayforward's full support of the idea? At this point, its definitely gonna be a big race. I could list a huge pile of reasons why Shantae is a good character, and would make a good Smash addition, but this is the Rayman thread, and I don't want to derail the thread or anything like that! ^_^And why do you think it's thriving?
Definitely. No reason to she should be downplayed like that.. Everyone has big chances, each with their own perfectly reasonable, and solid reasons. :D
Oh believe me, she has a lot to bring to the table... she would have an interesting moveset actually
Neither did I really, a few weeks back. I'd suggest popping over to the Shantae thread itself, or just do research yourself. The main reason you probably don't know who she is, is because she has always been one of those obscure Nintendo characters.. (needlessly actually). Her first game was on Gameboy Color, in 2002... around the end of the handhelds life actually, which caused it to see a limited release. She has only recently started to regain a foothold in the industry. (If 2010 is still considered recent anyway.. lol) I definitely think she doesn't deserve the obscurity she has. Her series is a good one.
Thats definitely moot at this point, with ever company in existance practically supporting their mascot's inclusions XD. Wayforward supports Shantae for Smash all the way.

In fact, it looks as though he fears that the lamp wants a piece of it, so he's pushing it away.
Sigh. Cats are some of the silliest creatures that I know of.

In all seriousness, though, I'm planning on selling some of these rocks.
Namely, the sandwich, ocarina, and all of the others that I have yet to show you guys.
Not that I'm trying to advertise my works, but just telling you guys.
I would say the same for Giana. Her first game was on the Commodore 64, initially as the C64 equivalent to Super Mario Bros. Her second was a DS exclusive (later ported to mobile). Her third was on Wii U as well as PC, PS3 and XBox 360. She's not an exclusive but her games deserve much more players than what they get.
I'd love to have Shantae.... but not over Rayman. So, I'd just be in some weird state of satisfied anger... I guess?
