By the way, all this aside, I want your opinions on something..
Thinking about everything that has happened for the smash roster over the years, something dawned on me... Something that might spell trouble.
At this point, we have over 50 characters in the roster (Which could go past that if we get more than a few DLC characters). This is kinda a problem when you think about it... Each one of these characters (Save for the clones), take time to create. Sakurai has mentioned each one can take months. This even includes characters from previous titles too, since they have to be made from scratch, thanks to the new smash engines that are used in each console. Taking all of this into account...
Could it ever be possible that we could reach some sort of threshold for newcomers? A point where the roster is just unable to expand anymore without taking a decade of development time... I mean lets not forget the features and modes they have to work on too... Stages, Trophies, game modes.. online play.. Game balancing.. and in a world where devs are put under certain time constraints to get a game out, that isn't a good thing. It could very easily get to the point where just for us to be able to see a substantial amount of newcomers, we'll start to see more and more cuts as we go through more installments.
Considering how a lot of people react to just ONE character getting cut, this could definitely cause an uproar in the community, even if it is something the developers can't necessarily control. So yeah. I want to know what you all think about this sort of thing... Could the community adapt to it?
