I just don't see Banjo and Kazooie happening to be honest. Yeah, they have history with Nintendo, but now they're owned by one of their competitors. They'd have to go through a lot of trouble just to get them in, even if Phil Spencer said he'd be alright with it.

You guys are reading into this too much. It's clearly PS All-Stars Battle Royale.

I personally didn't vote for Rayman. But I know Rayman is the most likely out of any 3rd Party possibility through the ballot. The Banjo stuff is interesting but I don't think Nintendo includes an advertisement for competition and while it could be said Snake has some of that considering it had a song from MGS4 that never made it onto Nintendo console. Banjo would be much more obvious however, and Banjo's developers don't have Snake's luxury of being personal friends of Sakurai. And the Indie characters like Shovel Knight or Shantae (As much as I wouldn't mind the latter) just aren't happening.

Rayman's biggest argument is that he's already in Smash 4 in some form. Regardless or not that was just based on weird Licensing issues where Nintendo kinda owns Rayman but somehow only in Japan. That's more then any 3rd Party character can say. The fact that Rayman got to have 3 trophies in Smash 4 should make him the obvious frontrunner in terms of 3rd Parties.

If any additional 3rd Parties are included as DLC, I have no doubt in my mind that Rayman will get in sooner or later. (The only other option I really see is who I voted for, which was Tails just because Sonic is a very popular veteran Smash Bros. franchise now. But I don't really count it as any competition for Rayman at the slightest since it's just a 2nd Rep for a Franchise already in the game. And even if it is, Rayman definitely gets in over Tails)

My Younger Brother was also a big Rayman fan at one point. So I'd be very happy for him and all of you guys if Rayman got in after all that roller coaster of emotions after the Artsy Omni leak (Which if Rayman becomes playable, that whole thing may have actually helped him quite a bit)

Who knows. Until they reveal the picture fully, we won't understand why they exactly did it. Let's be happy though that they seem to be in support of Rayman in Smash if this picture is anything to go by (As well as previous events.)

The potd that showed Rayman's trophy in Smash is what I believe sparked most people's interest. I know it did for me. Combined with the fake omni leak that made interest a bit bigger, and the ballot, talk of Rayman in Smash is slowly getting bigger. With a character as great as him, it's going to be a great day to see him announced in Smash Bros.

What sparked my interest in having Rayman playable in Smash actually stemmed from a random conversation with my brother after we finished the last level in Rayman Legends about a year ago. Needless to say, I almost lost consciousness in glee when I saw the Pic of the day with Rayman in it a few months after that!

It blows my mind even further that Omni did this leak on a major Ubisoft sale, I believe Rayman Legends was like, 6 bucks on the PSN store. He could've done it on aaannny other day, and then a month later, bam, an official character poll appears.

It's like there was a prophecy foretelling this or something, but hey, we still got a long ways to go until october!

Seriously though, if this is Smash Bros. Raymanified (which making this censored out of all the other games you did without doing so for those), this is a tease. A Sakurai level tease. Don't cause unnecessary hype, never return to the pages of 40+ - 60+ of hype and disappointment again. But be curious, cause I am. This is interesting for them to do, no doubt about it.

If this is a hint of Rayman in Smash, then we'll see soon enough. But I'm nearly convinced if this is a real tease, he's going to be playable at some point or another.

Good to see that Rayman is getting more supporters. Yes, the DLC fake leak and the trophy had definitely turned things around for the limbless hero. Let's all hope that both Snake and Rayman will be the ones to make it in as our third party DLC characters. By the way Post #20!

I was just on the SmashBros Head-cannons tumblr site and they had only one on Rayman so far. It went something like Rayman trying to sneak his way into the Smash Mansion, but he eventually go caught and got booted out by the other third parties and Mario.

For some reason I can a fic about this already, it'd be short but it can be done. If someone hasn't done one like this already. I had laughed because I can imagine something like this happening. It also reminded me of a video on YouTube, it was after the DLC leak got de confirmed, and it had Rayman riding on a train getting to Smash and Mario Sonic MegaMan and PacMan were all listening to Mario about Sonic making more games for Nintendo. Then the train exploded, making Rayman not getting into Smash. I dunno found it all funny and similar to each other.

But we've had newcomers from the 1990's in Smash before so no Rayman wouldn't technically be the first. If he meant for Smash 4 then yes he'd be the first. Chairzard in a way also somewhat counts he was treated like a newcomer but he's technically a veteran.
