We should schedule a Skype Group Call where we just Mass Vote for 4 straight hours. We need to really put out nose to grind stone and really make a move.

He will be going for the popular requests more than likely... but he will also probably be going for unique fighters.. Its what I love about this ballot. There is just no way to tell how it will turn out.

Does Rayman have a chance? Heck yes. He has a LOT going for him. But straight up being biased and thinking he is the only contender here is foolish.

Ok, I'm sorry if I came off as a bit harsh or rude but I just want to say this I don't have anything against Shantae, it's just that I don't follow Shantae, like I do with other games, so I wouldn't know if WayForward had always wanted her there. I myself only have the faintest of memories of her with my Gameboy. If I offended anyone that supports Shantae for the ballot on this thread then I am really sorry. If you support Shantae then all I'm going to say is good luck and hope that your character gets in.

With that being said I'm just saying that a lot of these character suggestions that I've been seeing through Twitter are mostly third party characters. I mean really this is still a Nintendo game, but most of the major Nintendo characters are either already in or been debunked as trophies or assist trophies. I can't really think of another major Nintendo character that has yet to make an appearance in Smash yet, which is probably why most people are going for third party.

If we do get a third party DLC character the only big two I can really see are Snake and Rayman. I think we'd be lucky enough to even get another third party character, especially when Sakurai himself kept promoting the Mario vs Sonic vs Megaman vs Pacman dream match up.

xD I think I saw some cooking advices there....for some reason...it is a notebook from Assassin's Creed 3 I found..they are from Ubisoft.... 0__0 they wanted to bake Illuminati pies to take over the world...?!

Hey guys, I'm kinda new here. Just wanted to say that Rayman was the first character I voted for in the ballot, so I really hope he gets in!

Heh, I see where you're coming from. Though I don't really think it's just the 3rd party in all of this. Its just because of all of the sudden support, everyone was just so shocked that there could be a chance for some of these guys (and gals). I mean there is still very large campaigns for the likes of King K. Rool, as an example. Theres probably even more dotted around this board for other characters I haven't seen yet either. Its just everyone is so excited for the possibilities this ballot brings ^_^

As to Snake, I'll mention what I though on him from another post: I still think the fact that Kojima refused to port Metal Gear Solid V to Wii U, yet still wants the guy in the new game anyway is kinda funny.. I think that extra possible brawl spot is more than likely going to go to Wolf. (Mewtwo and Dr. Mario are already back from melee. I would at least expect them to seal the deal with another character joining lucas)

In terms of Shantae, my point is simple: She shouldn't be underestimated. She has a lot going for her. And at least her games are all on Nintendo consoles...Even Risky's revenge was originally created for DSiWare ._.

My two most wanted DLC newcomers are hands down Rayman and King K. Rool.

Both of these characters were a big part of my childhood and I really feel that they are iconic enough to get in.

That said, I would infinitely like this roster more if both of them are added. If neither of them are added, however, I'm going to be very salty. They are among the most deserving newcomers for Smash 4.

I really hope Rayman gets in, he is such a more iconic character than some of the other characters being suggested. He is perfect for Smash 4. I also want more Rayman games similar to Rayman 2.
Also, already voted for Rayman as soon as I heard about the voting! I hope Nintendo sees how much people want him, this thread shows it.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. This thread is extremely committed to getting Nintendo's attention that we WANT Rayman. I really hope it pays off in the end.
I mean, this could very well be Rayman's best chance to get in. Here's why:
  1. Legends was a Wii U exclusive in Japan.
  2. Rayman has a TON of history on Nintendo platforms.
  3. He would be an extremely different newcomer given his lack of limbs.
  4. He's got THREE TROPHIES in Smash Wii U.
  5. Following the ArtsyOmni leak, Rayman started to become the most requested third party newcomer.
If Rayman doesn't get in, I'm holding out hope that K. Rool will get added. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if neither of them get in.

However, Smash 4 would become my favorite game ever if both of them became fighters.
But that's asking for too much, sadly.
Sigh.

With the Five Nights at Freddy's movie announced, and all these video game movies coming to theaters, I couldn't help but think of what a Rayman movie would be like.

I was thinking about that the other day. If a Rayman movie were to be made, I would like Genndy Tartakovsky to be the director.
Watch this and replace Popeye with Rayman and Olive Oil with Betilla.

I can't help but think that it should be in the style of Wallace and Gromit.
Either that or it could be handrawn.

I'd imagen a 2D Aladdin-style animation with rayman would look awesome, seeing all the environments from the games blend around with rayman, but 2D animated films are dead for some reason.

Kojima did not refuse to port MGSV to the Wii U, when he saw the controller, he said he would prefer to make a completely new game exclusive to it that took full use of all of it's functions. He felt a simple port wouldn't do it justice (as evidence by both MGS The Twin Snakes and MGS3D, both which were remakes of previous games remade from scratch. It's clear that Kojima holds Nintendo in high regards. Literally everything that anti-Snake people throw around is garbage that holds no water whatsoever.

Hopefully nothing like the Rayman cartoon, featuring all your favorite characters that were completely made up for the show instead of actual characters from the game (excluding Rayman himself and small cameos by Razorbeard).

The games are mostly that in the first place, high quality animated cut scenes.. So a movie isn't that unlikely. I'd like it.

Tartakovsky recently left as the director of the project (which is odd because he seemed very passionate about Popeye), so the movie is unfortunately in development hell. A shame, I really liked this teaser.
