It's unclear if we'll be getting a Pokemon rep at all this time around. Even if we are, Nihilego has a ton of competition with Incineroar, Decidueye, and Lycanroc (all of which are arguably way more popular). Not to mention it also has to deal with Buzzwole in regards to Ultra Beast reps.

Nothing about Nihilego interests me and the fact that it could potentially take a better deserving Gen VII Pokemon's slot makes me want it even less. It's the type of Pokemon you would expect from a pokeball (or in this case beast ball), not as an actual character.

The main factor supporting its inclusion is that it had a rather prominent story role in Sun and Moon as the only story relevant UB, but beside that, I'm doubtful about this Pokemon. It still has to compete with far more popular choices like Decidueye, Incineroar, Lyncanroc, Tapu Koko, and some other prominent Alola Pokemon. I don't think its concept makes it appealing alone, at least if we're to take into account that Sakurai decided on the roster back in 2015 and most likely had to choose a rep based on concept art like he did with Greninja back then.

Nihilego could have an interesting moveset that uses a mix of Rock and Poison-type attacks, and the whole parasitic thing could be interesting too (perhaps they might even bring Lusamine in for its Final Smash where it turns into Beast Lusamine and proceeds to go nuts on its foes).

Other than that, I'm not that keen on Nihilego. I'm largely indifferent to it, and I have other UBs that I prefer. Not only that, but I think it might be more appropriate as a Poke Ball summon. I can see it playing out like the Metroid Assist Trophy where it latches onto foes and starts accumulating damage on its victim.

Nihilego never gets enough credit when we discuss Gen 7 reps. It is a plot important Pokémon, more plot important than the other Pokémon from the same Gen. It's not a starter, but there was always a decent chance we wouldn't get a starter. The concept of using poison, more specifically doing something like using Sludge Wave on the ground and damaging opponents who walk over it, would be completely new. Nihilego also has tentacles to work with for grabbing.

Since Mimikyu is deconfirmed, it's my choice for a Gen 7 Pokémon. Not my choice for a Pokémon though.

But I also lean towards the fan consensus that Incineroar is the golden boy for this, and if the community is wrong about that pick the competition is still fierce. Nihilego isn't even the most popular or visually appealing among Ultra Beasts, though it does have story relevance in its favor.

A pick that's obviously ignored by a lot of people. Buzzwole is seen as the favorite to get into Smash among all the Ultra Beasts. I say the one advantage Nihilego has is that it appears in Sun and Moon's main story as a boss by itself, and multiple copies of it fusing with Lusamine to create "Mother Beast." All the others you weren't made to seek out until postgame. I have no idea what differences there are in the treatment of Ultra Beasts in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon other than Necrozma hijacking the plot. I have my own preferred Gen VII pokemon pick, and even among Ultra Beasts, my preference is with Buzzwole.

But Pokemon candidates have almost never been decided by their relevance to the games, and Nihilego doesn't stand out enough by itself to make that a worthwhile plus. Sure, it's a levitating jellyfish.

No reason to be picky about who the Gen 7 is now, when it's such a long-standing mystery that people are starting to wonder if we'll get one at all. While Nihilegonot the most popular creature to invade Alola, it's weird enough to make for an interesting moveset, especially if the goal is to pick something unique to Alola in particular.

I've been waiting for this one for quite a while, because I truly feel it's a possible playable Pokémon inclusion that people tend to overlook. Now, I'm of the opinion that I don't think we will be getting a Pokémon newcomer for this game, but if we were... I reckon it'll be an Ultra Beast. I believe their are factors going against a few of the more popular recommendations from Gen 7, whereas I believe Nihilego has quite a few factors in it's favour.​

For starters, there is it's story importance. If Sakurai were to be considering characters based on concept art again, then I can see Nihilego having a fair few available thanks to it's bigger role within Pokémon Sun and Moon. As an Ultra Beast, it's very vibe and appearance stands out from most Pokémon, and I feel this distinctiveness would do well among the playable Pokémon line-up. Some have remarked that it doesn't have the look of a playable character or how it has an odd body type, but I feel those elements are in Nihilego's favour. It's odd and unusual, which means it'll look and feel different from the rest of the roster; it has potential to be a more unique addition to SSB with a unique move-set to match. Be it's odd movements, rock and poison move-pool (perhaps poison a foe to increase the strength of Venoshock, set up Tonix Spikes/Stealth Rocks, etcetera), or tentacles; I can see Nihilego being a memorable addition that could set itself apart from the already massive cast of SSB.​

I do not like Nihilego, or Ultra Beasts, or even Pokémon Sun and Moon very much... but out of all the ideas thrown about for a Gen 7 addition, Nihilego is the one that interests me the most. Sure, I'd rather no new Pokémon newcomer, but if we get one then I feel it should at least try to represent something more than a bog-standard Pokémon (Greninja). An Ultra Beast I feel would do just that, and whilst there are plenty to choose from, I feel Nihilego would be the most unique and worthy thanks to it's odd design (compared to characters already in SSB), movements and story role. Again, hoping for no new Pokémon newcomer, but I'd find Nihilego to be an okay inclusion.​

Saber alter is a godamn monster in mugen so moveset is definitely not the reason for her exclusion.
And there is so much she could do with wind properties. It would be hard to recreate her faithfully without being extremely broken. Would it be fun to play as nerfed saber? She has multiple appearances in fighting games, but they play way different than smash bros.

Hypothetically they would need to add a weakness. She has speed, power, agility, defense (armor), range, an invisible weapon, wind, projectiles. I think one way to set her up would be to make her the opposite of lucario. Make her get weaker over time, with more damage, with unleashing big attacks. She would have a limited supply of "mana" and it would force the player to play carefully, not waste attacks. It rewards good players, but punishes hard if you can't close out the stock. Maybe you could get her to take off her armor to conserve mana and provide a small boost in strength and speed as a strategy for players to consider. (But taking off armor could cost you more mana if you take bigger damage.)
It might be impossible for ultimate, but definitely doable for super smash flash 2 or other fan game and potentially mods.

Super Smash Flash 2 will potentially be DMCA'd by Nintendo.

I think Nihliego has a slight chance, due to story relevance. However, I think it would be cool if it wasn't just it, but Lusamine Beast mode. that would be really cool and would be a true pokemon villain for the series. COuld use both unique attacks itself, and also be able to call out some of her pokemon to be a pet type character in this game. Like Summon Clefable to do Metronome as a random Down B, Beware coming out for a body slam(though it being a pokeball also makes this unlikely). I just think the look of this would be very cool

why bother voting for anything if it can just be removed on a whim because someone doesn't like it?

It's called a very tiny chance character being shown as a background character of a stage towards the final 3 month stretch before the game comes out. I personally wouldn't mind you posting your "tribute" to a friend in regards to Dragonite as I also wouldn't mind the person who spent forever on voting up Kamek posting their's. Maybe on the tail end of a post rating a different character (to stay on topic) or you could make your own support thread for Dragonite and post it there.

I stopped voting for A Pikmin Newcomer when Pikmin 4 failed to show up yet again on Nintendo's radar after they have been indicating it's been in the works for awhile now. Was it disappointing and basically waste my votes to a degree? Yes. It happens. Part of speculation.

Confession: I never played Sun/Moon. It just didn’t hold my interest.

Still, they were definitely playing up the Ultra Beast concept, and Nihilego is the main one. It’s also really important in the story itself. They may not have had popularity on their radar when deciding the roster, and this one unquestionably has potential.

Unfortunately though, it’s not interesting to me. As important as it was, it never was one of the ones people speculated about. Even other UBs like Buzzwole/Poipole seem more interesting in the speculation scene. Not to mention one of things turning me off of Pokémon is that the legendaries are getting more and more numerous, while the story is focusing more on them (and thereby making them easier to catch).

Not a fan of the Ultra Beasts overall. This one is pretty bland to me as well. I also believe in "Legendary" Pokemon over saturation and these are basically fancy named Legendary Pokemon. A couple per a gen is good, the army of them is annoying.

It's called a very tiny chance character being shown as a background character of a stage towards the final 3 month stretch before the game comes out. I personally wouldn't mind you posting your "tribute" to a friend in regards to Dragonite as I also wouldn't mind the person who spent forever on voting up Kamek posting their's. Maybe on the tail end of a post rating a different character (to stay on topic) or you could make your own support thread for Dragonite and post it there.

I stopped voting for A Pikmin Newcomer when Pikmin 4 failed to show up yet again on Nintendo's radar after they have been indicating it's been in the works for awhile now. Was it disappointing and basically waste my votes to a degree? Yes. It happens. Part of speculation.

Yeah I understand, no point in speculating about a character who appears in a stage already. There are definitely no other characters in the game like that so we can say for sure he's 100% deconfirmed. I for one an super excited to speculate on Thwomp, who is a far more likely fighter.

In my profile I said I would abstain from RTC for some time due to lacking my PC but that actually only applies from Monday to Thursday because during Friday and the weekend I actually have access to good internet connection. Please don't delete I'm gonna edit this to add my Nihilego rating.

Edit 3: okay here's my rating. As I already said I don't feel like giving chance ratings to Pokémon candidates but I'll rate them in want. Also until I can use my computer again (or get a new one depends on whether it can be repaired) I'm not gonna add formating like bold and colors.

Not a candidate I really had in mind prior to the latest Direct but after thinking about it it could be great. I imagine it having grabs both regular and command that could make it fuse temporarily with the grabbed character just like the Mother Beast form and that fused form (which would only act as a brief animation) could become a threat to other opponents thanks to large hitboxes that can hurt other fighters as well. Also it's an alternative to Lycanroc for a playable Pokémon with Stealth Rock in its moveset, and as I said I'd be amused seeing the reaction of the Smogon crowd to that (for which this move has basically become a meme). Precisely I imagine its special moveset being: neutral Power Gem, side Toxic (a command grab that poisons the victim after releasing it), up Sludge Wave, down Stealth Rock, although I imagine Toxic Spikes could work as well. As the face of the Ultra Beasts it would make sense and feel like a very unique character. By the way, now that Mimikyu is deconfirmed my first three choices would be Decidueye, then Nihilego then Incineroar (who like Nihilego I have started to consider after the latest Direct and now find to be a pretty appealing idea too). But although playable Nihilego would certainly be nice, I can also imagine it as a good Poké Ball summon too, especially from the special Ball I'm nominating.

Also I have an excellent idea for the trailer: Mario dances on Jump Up Super Star in New Donk City and an Ultra Wormhole appears, then Nihilego puts itself on Mario's head Am's thinking it's a nice hat from nowhere, he throws it like Cappy, but then Nihilego comes back violently to fuse with Mario just like it did with Lusamine I'm SM and the public now panics. Just a new way to kill him after Ridley, but fortunately for him he's immortal in Odyssey.

I also wonder, are we going to do double days as the new routine? There probably are less than 100 days before we know the full roster, so speeding up ratings may allow us to nominate a large pool of characters, concepts and other things as well as relates judged important. Maybe if it's too much work for one people, then one of them may calculate the results for one character while the other calculates for the other character, basically role distribution. Does this seem about right?

Nihilego

Chance - 12.5% - While not supper likely, I think it at least has an outside shot. Being UB-01, the first Ultra Beast introduced to us both in advertising and in game, and with plot importance besides, I think we can think Nihilego as the mascot for the Ultra Beasts. As such, I think if we were to get an Ultra Beast, it would be Nihilego. However, a lack of advertising prevents me from going all in on it, comapred to many of it's more likely contemporiaries.

Want - 80% - Nihilego's poison abilities make for a higly interesting moveset in my opinon. It would be supper cool, seeing how they use it's interdimensional capabilites alongside its many other powers. I would be fairly happy seeing it get in.

I will say Nihilego doesn't really strike me as something that would be picked for Smash, but it does have plot importance going for it so it's entirely possible.
