Ok so this is the last PnT thread I am making. Any discussion for the tourney can be discussed here. I will update the thread title with the date of the following tournies. However the tournies should fall on the 2nd Saturday of every month after March so don't go making tournies on that date :mad:

I'll also post results of the tournies in 2nd post.....so....yea.

General Information.

Date:July 18th 2009

Time:
Registration for the Tournament and friendlies commence at 12:00pm
Tournament (Doubles) will begin at 12:45pm
Singles will be played whenever Doubles ends
Low Tier will played whenever singles end

Entry Fees:

Door Fee - $5
Brawl Singles - $10.
Brawl Doubles - $20 per team.
Low Tier Singles - $5

1st -60%
2nd - 30%
3rd - 10%

Rules:

We will be using Umbreons Brawl Rule Set with some minor alterations, cuz its better!

- Double Eliminations.

- Matches are 3 stock, 8 minutes.

- Items are set to “off” and “none”.

- At the beginning of a set, each player may strike one stage from the available 11.

- 1st match, characters are chosen with double blind picks. After that, advanced slob picks - Loser of 1st match pick stages, the winner of the 1st match picks character, then loser of 1st match picks character. Continue this as necessary until the set reaches completion. Standard sets are best of 3, finals and semifinals are best of 5.

- All forms of stalling are banned. Stalling- The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. This includes MK infinite cape, or any form of stalling under the stage (DK spin, sonic charge B, snake infinite down B teching, etc).

- If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage. In the event of a sudden death, both players are to suicide IMMEDIATELY. No fighting with bombs @ 300. At the results screen, regardless of what the screen says, the player with the higher DAMAGE TAKEN is the loser. No exceptions. In the result of a tie, the match will be discarded and played over, same characters and stage. For teams, if this should ever happen, add the damage taken instead for both teams.

- Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

Additional Rules

- In the event that there is a dispute for controller ports or character color choice, both players will play Rock Paper Scissors for it.

- Dave's Stupid Rule: No player may choose the stage that player last won on (unless agreed upon).

- You are not required to bring your own controller but it is recommended.

- The Gentleman's Rule is in effect. This means that, if one player wants to put it to effect, infinites will be banned for that particular set. If no mention of the Gentleman's Rule occurs, then infinites are allowed.

- You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings before a match is played.

- Don't be a douche. The tournament host reserves the right at any time to make you leave the tournament. (Thats me!)

I can see Ness and Lucas going into middle tier "D" Tier for next tier list.

I'd use Sonic most likely. Maybe some Charizard.

I'll have to see about the MM... btw. put a dash in between 8 and b, because that's how u actually write that irl when it comes to electronics

btw. from my small experience playing with the tv's at the store, is there any way u guys can supply component cables to compensate the input lag? cuz it's extremely noticeable from what i can tell.

oh and why can't low tier be $10 :( i likes the monies and i can bet galeon will **** hard in low tier :-p

They aren't really necessary but they help out a lot, specifically the infinite replay and no tripping hacks. I would definitely go for music hacks too if possible.

Though I still think doubles should be before singles but I don't find it THAT important...

I don't think the hacks are that big of a deal, I mean all its doing is just allowing you to only choose one of the three Pokemon and taking out the stamina thing. The matchups between the characters don't actually change or anything.

Just to let you know, Galeon is going to win low tiers...He mains one. Oh, and I will be winning this. (Again) If anybody wants friendlies/MMs at this I will gladly accept.

I'm up for MMs no higher than $5.

I will be looking into purchasing component cables before this tourney so we can fix any lag in the HDTVs.

Lucas owns in low tier tournaments. I actually think he is somewhere around middle tier. I don't think he is low tier.

And I don't know if this is true, but I heard Gigs is as small as Zero Ping? Talking about the capacity size of the room.

No wonder tournaments last all day long for ZP and Gigs. The FIU tournament that 8-bit held was nicely scheduled cause it didn't take up the whole dam day.

By the way, I'll be coming to this for sure. My supervisor approved my day off. :chuckle:

This seems to contradict itself... Usually the one who suicides loses on the result screen. So which is it? The suicider wins? Or do we listen to the winner by the result screen from a suicide KO?

If DDD, Bowser, Wario, etc.... use a suicide move on last stock they win, plain and simple. I'm going to remove that second part from the ruleset to avoid any confusion.
