The chickens in Kakariko scared the hell out of me when I first found out they will gang up on you. It's not something I'd like to be stuck in.

And the PIGS! I know exactly which black one your talking about.

Majora's Mask had the dog in South Clock Town that would attack you if you were in Deku form.

I have 2 Gossip Stone WTF moments. While speaking to them and wearing the Mask of Truth, one of the says that Malon dreams of being sweeped off of her feet by a soldier in shiny armor. Another one says that Gerudos often come to Castle Town looking for dates...

I have 2 Gossip Stone WTF moments. While speaking to them and wearing the Mask of Truth, one of the says that Malon dreams of being sweeped off of her feet by a soldier in shiny armor. Another one says that Gerudos often come to Castle Town looking for dates...

Really? I thought that added a realistic touch to those characters, even as an 8 year old. I registered, "ahh, no wonder the Gerudos do that - there are no men over there."

The carpenters in Ocarina of Time.

Just the way they lazily do things and complain about having to work is one big conundrum to me.

And having to rescue them as an Adult in the Gerudo Fortress...ugh. Not only is it weird they ALL KNOW EXACTLY how many of them are left, but the comments they make towards Link are...how can I put this bluntly...in a homosexual manner. One of the guys called him "cute". Yeah...guys don't call other guys cute unless, you know...they like guys...

Weird carpenters are weird...

but i always thought the joke WAS that the carpenters were gay, and wasn't their father making them work? to become real men lol, and they clearly don't want to.

One of the biggest WTF moments would be the fact that chickens can support link! I mean he has chainmail, the Master sword, forged steel shield and what the hell is ever on him.

That and the Deku tree forcibly makes you to enter his mouth.

During Ocarina of Time, the ceiling masters scared the **** out of me. Link's just walking along, minding his own business, and by the time I notice the shadow getting bigger, it's too late, and Link is grabbed and rises into the air, screaming. I was afraid to go back into the forest temple for about a week after that. Oh, and another WTF moment was in OoT after you get the Goron's Ruby. Darunia's all like "Hey, let's see off our brother!" and all these Gorons advance on Link, intent on giving him a Goron Hug. Heh, Link runs away screaming.

Basically anything that combines sexuality and the Zelda universe. Its not generally talked about, but the world is pretty full of characters who are very sexually aware. Now, I love it now, because it really adds a depth to the world, but as a kid, I was still caught off guard by the amount of sexuality expressed by the characters at the time. Like the Zora princess being attracted to Link, like the 'jugs' of Malon, and the stupid carpenters getting captured, most likely seduced by the carpenters, and I always felt there was something perverse about the Gerudo tribe in general. Then there are of course the homosexual characters, and Midna's design almost seemed to me to be aiming towards sexuality. I guess my wtf moment came from the realization that Zelda was by far a kids game, and only appeard so on the surface, something I like to call, Calvin and Hobb-ish. It can be enjoyed by kids, but adults will always find so much more depth in it. This was my first mature game, and it really caught me off guard, and still does on occasion.

I was six when I first played Ocarina of Time, and as if the ReDeads weren't enough... let's just say that I spent a majority of my childhood freakin' terrified of anything undead.

That, and how freaking Tingle is the only person in the entire ocean who can translate your triforce charts at the end of Wind Waker. God I hate Tingle.

Speaking of redeads, I was always afraid at walking alone at night, fearing that a Redead might somehow be in real life.

One I didnt understand is why it takes The zora king a few days to scoot over a few feet.
