well my rivals of the past were probably miz+park+chok of modesto, but i've passed them except for choknater... idk if i consider him a rival atm though, considering we are supposed to team at genisis (insert plug of how we're gonna **** because chok would want me to say so)
oh and SDR was when he beat me at SCSA 2 cause i was like wtf!?!?!?! but then i beat him at boss' so i got my revenge and he's not a rival of mine anymore
i wish i had a rival currently down here in so cal... oh well, maybe i'll piss someone off and we can become rivals

My smash rivals:
When I first started: Ian. He beat me at my first biweekly, was always better than me but not by that much.
Now:
I guess Luis, although if he beats me in our next MM/tourney set it will be too one sided to call a rivalry.
Obviously NICK from Fremont.
I guess me and stupid Hydro Kage are rivals at this point because I've played against him in tournament more than anyone else.
Oh, and any of Sheridan's characters worse than his Ganon, in particular his Roy.
If aznforce actually went to tournaments, he might be my rival. I wanted to rematch him at SCSA/Mango Juice but he was a no show.
Chok was my rival in posting for a while, but dat ***** disappeared. Now I rule the NCB thread's post count with an iron fist.

for the first 1.5 years of my smashery, my rival was 'mogwai' in pittsburgh; we were very even, teammates, and pretty good friends outside of smash so it was cool
after moving here, i haven't really found anyone to fill that role; i mentioned a while ago that zoap was "officially" my rival, but our matchup is like 4-0 in his favor (i beat him in a mm once though!), so it's pretty one-sided
the closest thing i have to a rival now is probably hydro kirby, but he'd probably beat me far more often than not in tournament (though i did jv 3stock him on rainbow cruise in tournament with IC the last time we played). maybe the round kid too, though we've only played in tournament once. in reality, my inability to progress skill-wise just leads to anyone i considered a rival for any brief moment in time flying right by me

When I first started out it was my brother, we were about even and enjoyed multiple character matchups to test the rivalry(Peach vs Fox, Mario vs Luigi, Falcon vs Ganon, Link vs Samus, Falco vs Peach), after I started to get into the competitive scene and he started highschool I got better and eventually he got bored so we played less and less, although he is still very good we very rarely play and I sometimes wish he would just learn some things as he seems to be such a waste of natural talent.
After that it became my crew mate Kawn, who since I started playing had always been way better than me. That fact aside I was the 2nd best in the crew and most of the others wanted to see me dethrone him eventually. It only took 3 years lol. He eventually stopped caring about being competitive as well and now plays 2d fighters.
After that Snap, my training partner for most of the summer of 06 and 07 became my rival. Up till summer 06 I never considered him a rival simply because I was better than him, but by then end of 06 we were going even. In 07 he surpassed me by miles and even though he is semi-retired right now he is still better than I am.
Right now Phil is probably the closest thing I have to a rival, when were both on and playing seriously the games are very intense. He is better than me but it still is good to have someone to train with and help gauge your level. SO PHIL AS OF RIGHT NOW.

You sound soooooooooooooooooo arrogant. Im glad I know you, and this isnt like the WCSL days.
My first rival was Sean. Yeah, Brawl Sean. He used to beat the **** outta me. Now, you could prolly say its a bit lopsided. He was going even with me at the last CGC in a friendly, but I remember 3 stocking him with Peach.
Then it was little ol' Shroomed. Trained that ***** for days, and now hes better than me.
Now its not really anyone. Im not competitive enough, I just like making friends.
