Oh nice, Episode 3 is out. I shall watch that immediately.
Also, as some of you know, I'll be departing for Oregon on tuesday, and may or may not ever return to Queensland. It's been nice knowing and Smashing with everyone, and I'll definitely be up for catching up with people/going to meets/tourneys if I do come back here. Also, if any of you should ever end up in/near Oregon, you should definitely pay me a visit.
And of course I suppose we'll still see each other 'round the boards.

Brawl tournaments should never cost more than $15 because that's the entry fee.
Melee should be close to free depending on whether DJ Cat decides to host them or not.

I loved how they were all screaming "AAAAHH IT'S A SMOKER, I'M BEING PULLED IN AHHHHH"
We played it at a LAN on friday after work, and I was screaming **** like that the whole time. Twas so epic.

Well there are no more tournaments til February. Maybe we could have a Melee/Brawl tournament in January?
Guys, I really want to have a Christmas party between Christmas and New Years for us smashers. Anybody have some ideas on venue, etc? There's always Bob's/Redcliffe, but I don't wanna be always turning to them all the time.
I'd host if I could, but it wouldn't be much of a party at all.
What do you guys think?

Hey, anybody planning on hosting any smashfests on the Coast anytime soon?
Just a bit of a hassle getting up to brissy and I wouldn't mind attending a tournament.
Need some people to play melee with
none of my friends want to play it anymore and I can't get much more practice from CPU's.

Sounds good, spent quite a few weeks getting falco's technical skills down on melee, just need to practice the mindgamez 
can't do that with those CPU's, level 1's are dummies and level 9's are jab kings.

I loved melee when it came out, but never really knew much about any of the advanced techniques. When NTSC brawl came out I was getting horribly pissed off by MK so I searched for a way to beat him (friend was using him). That's when I took alot more interest to melee and decided to practice melee.
Brawl doesnt take any practice anyway The game is too simple. (sorry all you brawl lovers)

last? lol, I'm yet to even play against someone else that plays melee seriously so I'm pretty sure if I ever decide to go to a tournament I'll easily be last. Wouldn't mind having a bit of practice with some other people though
I don't think im that bad, I can SHFFL and SHL consistantly wavedash consistantly and am getting gradually better and better at pillaring. I just need to practice approaching an actual player.
Are there any videos of Australian melee players or you guys playing melee? I wouldn't mind seeing what the standards are like

i am pretty sure i am the worst at melee lol all i do is forward smash with marth XD but sometimes i win :X due to mindgames and tippah XP

Would that involve coming over here and playing Smash? Because that doesn't sound so bad.
And it's funny, Brawl seems more complicated than Melee to me, because it's too slow/defensive for really simple mindgames* to work. And the characters are more diverse it seems. But I don't have any Melee tech skill yet, so it's not really a proper comparison.
*"really simple mindgames" = stuff like "dash attack suddenly" or "jump and do some random aerial suddenly" or "randomly sidestep and then downsmash".

And isn't jumping and doing aerials a move done by a lot of characters?
And isn't dash-attacking something a lot of characters do, too?

They work much better in Melee, since the opponent has less time to react. Or at least, I really get that impression.

Dont forget L-cancelling. Thats probably the biggest thing about melee that brawl doesnt have.
I don't mind brawl, brawl is a little bit kinder to my fingers. I prefer melee though, because some things about brawl are simply frustrating to me. I feel like melee is a more fair game.
