Soon we're going to have to consider the 2009 calendar.
I want to aim for 10 tournaments next year, 5 Brawl and 5 Melee. I think, given the rather lengthy nature of Brawl, we're going to have to separate both games to either separate days or separate tournaments.
Brawl crews is kinda fail (Not to mention really lengthy), so Brawl I think can only really afford time for Singles and Doubles events.
Melee on the other hand should have time enough for Singles, Doubles and Crews on the one day.
So, if everybody agrees, this is how I want to play it out.
Bi-Monthly Tournaments for both games in such a way that they occupy each other's off month.
(The idea once again, is stolen from CAO. And when I step back and consider it, it's a good idea)

Actually there's quite a lot in Brisbane as well.
In regards to locations, we have two major locations.
1. LanSmash
Now, Blade from LanSmash has been in contact with me and wants me to run Smash comps at their events. Their location is going to be ANZ stadium for four of their five events next year, and the other one will be at GenCon.
2. Bob's House
You might be wonder how the frick we'd manage to run a smash tournament out of his house? Well it's merely a matter of looking under said house. The first floor is bare empty, and probably perfect for the size of our Smash Scene. Even if we all gave bob a $5 Entry fee, it'd do quite nicely to help offset our inconvenience. This is ENTIRELY up to bob to decide though, seeing as it's his house.
Redcliffe is another possible option as well.

But for the next Smash tournament i dont see why Trent and i cant hook something up again, the last one was pretty successful And its not alot of effort on our part its just if you guys are willing to drive there again?
Also we should hold one at Supernova that should be a major one we push for like QBB.

I have to agree with Syke. Venue access is terrible, as well as the fact that people would expect it to be an items FFA. A lot of people would just walk away after a match and do something else. Plus most people (myself included) would prefer to go to Supanova for fun and manga browsing lol.
I think we could still run a tournament, but, I don't think it'd be anything serious, especially considering the price tag to get in these days. All we could use it for, would be to advertise upcoming tournaments like we did at Animania (Which was very much a success) though, I think if we even handed out flyers instead of going to the trouble of running a tournament, that'd work out to be a lot easier.
