I spoke to Zac/Zamach :S and he said that they only play casually on sundays and stuff cause they would rather go out drinking and clubbing all the time instead of attending smash tournies lol.

I mean in general,not just doubles, people need money to turn up.
Look at all the good players not turning up for singles just cause money isnt involved.
No one seems to see the incentive of just winning as good enough.

I see eveyone hates me.
Nothing changed then.

Everyone will get over MvC like it seems they got over Street Fighter when the next thing comes out.

People won't get over MvC, people were playing MvC 2 for 10 years and counting. SF will probably never die out, it's too popular atm and shows no signs of slowing down.

i now personally have four tournament tvs (thanks to bob and zydron for that <3). two large two small. hugh has a small one. so that' 5 tvs between the two of us. so no more tv worries for PoS.

At some point during next weekend's easter break, me and oldman are versing 6 dudes who are oldman's sister's friends. They play melee and brawl together. Could be some secret scene we don't know about.

Anyway, they're actually really c0cky and say they'll destroy us.. It's funny seeing people who are the best in their group of friends and they suddenly think they're the best players in the world.

So i told them i'm only playing them if they all individually MM me ($20 minimum each). If they seem cool enough, i'll invite them to tournaments. They live on the gold coast btw. That's 6 potential newcombers!!!

Don't know their names. Oldman might know, they are his sister's friends. I've never met them though. I'm very doubtful that they'll be half decent at either game.

From what i heard from oldman we actually versed 1 of them 2 years ago when our mains were link and ganondorf and we necked them. He mained zelda and when he lost, he was like, my friends are heaps better than me, they will **** you. That was 2 years ago though ahha

I'm up for that Sea if your making a day of it. I have a hell intense week of uni this week so I will be holding a smash meet within the next 2 weekends to cool off after ridiculous mid sem exams.

Found a venue near my place and Arrows that looks alright, will be inspecting next week sometime to see if it's good for tvs & set-ups etc. Half way between GC and Bris.

SIX POTENTIAL NEWCOMERS -> MK, MK, MK, MK, MK and MK (I hope not). If that person still uses Zelda, I would like to MM him Zelda vs Zelda. See if you can find out what characters they main. I pray for variety (Falco, Wario, IC, Lucario, Pikachu and Toon Link).

I like the idea of $20 minimum MM offers. My future vocation. Don't destroy them too much - otherwise you will scare them off (especially if they know the tier list and you both beat them with Ganon) - then say that they could easily beat everyone at the competition.

When melee 1st came out I was the best in all my friends and I thought I was the beat in the world, this was when I was 9 <3
then I discovered YouTube few years later, I thought all the games were on lighting mode.

Well, he didn't say they'd **** or destroy us.. just that they were interested in playing us since apparently they're better now and he knows that my friends and I play frequently. Iunno, I think everyone thinks they're supreme in their own circle of friends until they venture outside that and get done by someone who has played competitively before.

The guy who's invited me is called Tom and he used zelda in brawl but I have no idea if he still does, as sea said we were maining link/ganondorf back then. I don't know the rest of their names or who they use at either game but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Yeah Jaice and I used to think we were the best there ever was. Continually 3 stocking all our friends and there friends, and basically anyone we could find who thought they were good at melee or brawl. But competition knocks that clean out of you, especially when tiers are involved.

I came 4th in my first tourney so I was pretty happy with that (it was low tier though, and I mained the entire low tier cast almost). Only lost to J-birds (after knocking him to losers) and Kas who trounced me. You quickly realise though that there are plenty of people out there who play, and how much time you have to put in to beat those people.

I said "Whaa? They play this game competitively? Noice!" Then I went to a bob meet and I haven't stopped playing this game since.
