I think he meant you'll have another top quality sprite in the top three for an addition to your Hall of Fame. But it's a great sprite, so it's well deserved.

I just followed the shading on Byron, so if there's nothing wrong with him, there's nothing wrong with Ike

And eh, I don't see the black outline that big of an issue, so I don't think I'll do it.



Btw, are we allowed to have companion pokemon along with the sprite? For example, there's this lady person who has Bonsly with her in the trainer sprite.

On the bright side, I finally have a new avatar when I choose to get a name change that doesn't specifically involve an object/thing

Well, the black outline was there because the shovel mainly consisted of dark colors. However, when you change it to a light color of Ike's sword , you must also change the outline to something lighter, because it is no longer dark.

It's really, really good though.

The one thing I forgot to do with the sprite >_> I was very tired at 1 AM working on it for hours.

And rockem, you're just lucky that I happened to notice how similar Ike and Byron are.

Plus, my non-creativity and confidence that Ike is a much better swordsman than Link led me to this

I just followed the shading on Byron, so if there's nothing wrong with him, there's nothing wrong with Ike

This isn't 100% true. While shading can carry over, if you alter pieces of the sprite or even just the colors, the shading may have to be changed to suit the colors/design.

Basically, when spriting, you should never rely on the shading to suit the situation, you have to look at it yourself and analyze whether or not it fits the changes.

The sprite is flat and without depth. Looks more like a paint drawing than a sprite.

The problem is that your colors are too bright.
Tone them down, desaturate them.

Fixed it up a bit more and made the shading more obvious.

The colors are still SUPER saturated. Notice how in Byron's sprite the color of his hair is a faded purple, but if you pull it out of the sprite, the color is VERY faded? Try using a more faded blue for the hair and tunic.

Ehh. I really wanna bring it back to Pokemon sprites. This week's prompt required some scratching and pretty much nobody entered, so I'd rather hold a concept more people are willing to sprite for.
