I find it funny that you disallow something that completely fits the prompt. Even when you yourself are not responsible for judging said competitors, you limit their creativity with a baseless altercation of the rules.
I know what it's like to be stifled creatively, and I know it might not be obvious to people who aren't spriters, but it's kind of annoying to have an idea (like many possible competitors have already stated) and be disallowed from creating said ideas by a baseless rule.

The line that's seperating the front and back of the shell kind of looks awkward... But other than that, it's pretty awesome TAL.

EDIT: I'm thinking of mixing something with Stantler and naming him John Deere.

It's an interesting idea and a good start, but it looks kind of awkward. Squirtle's limbs are small in contrast to Golem's fairly large body, so attaching them to Golem's body without any sort of alterations doesn't quite fit. Squirtle's head should also be attached to the top unless you redesign it to be similar to Golem's head, as his head is designed to be attached on the bottom.

The shell line is a little awkward as well. It's not quite as round as it should be, and I think you should add an outline to it so it blends better.

It's an interesting concept, though, one that hadn't occurred to me. It's a pretty cool reskin idea with the shell.
