Have you played Pichu, yet? He's really fun.


On an unrelated note(being match-ups), my roommate started maining Mr GW recently, and I'm noticing that he is quite the Pichu bane... If he's paying attention, his bucket voids both lightning spiking, and aerial Tjolt, which more or less sums up my play style.

Use more QAC uair to start combos. It's really a bad matchup either way but that tip should help you if for some reason the projectiles aren't able to do their job.

wow, just started using the new pichu and i love it! You guys are getting close to getting her perfectly. It took me one whole weekend to getting used to self damage, but the results were satisfying. Delicious combos so massive, they are more epic than the knee. I have a few complaints to her. Cosmetically speaking, nair looks better than before, but could still use some work. Also, Dtaunt cancels just like the old ballerina taunt but does the normal cute animation. Now for attacks, is her 100% usmash a kill move? Cause the only thing i get is a spike. An i feel that fsmash end lag is too long. It should definately be longer than pikachu's, but it feels like she's there for a second just standing and waiting for someone to kill her.

I agree, boxchu isn't gonna cut it, is it xD.

Hit earlier in the attack, the very last few hitboxes are meteor smashes.
An i feel that fsmash end lag is too long. It should definately be longer than pikachu's, but it feels like she's there for a second just standing and waiting for someone to kill her.
Yeah, it's the main kill move (or at least will be when I add the discharge), so that was kind of a get-ready-for-next-build measure :p

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but Pichu does HORRIBLY in any 4 player match.

-You'll never get to finish your Fsmash
-You'll often not be able to properly capitalize on Tjolt's stun
-Your combs get interrupted all over the place
-You'll never get the chance to heal(if everyone is paying attention)

-And by the time you've managed to out live the other 3, your damage is so high that their idle animations almost become kill moves


None of this is unexpected, of course, but I figured I'd point it out, as it has been frustrating me recently.

Absolutely no way to fix that... :/
I know- however, speeding up his forward smash is worth considering. Currently, it's quite possible to escape, mostly because of it's duration.
I've seen people shield out of it a few times, and I've seen moving stages pull people out of it a lot(because the opponent is in the air and Pichu is not).

The little graphic at the end of the fsmash - graphic 26 - is mislabeled as "small electric effect". The graphic is for Bowser's slashes XD. Might wanna change that.

some other graphic things I noticed, aereal tjolt has no graphic unless fighting samus/zero suit. you should change it to a spark effect anyone can use. also, sheildbreak paralisis animation has like some sort of fountain thing coming out of her head... and IMO, you should change the utaunt sleeping animation from the victory pose to the sleeping pose (when hit by jiggs' sing) if possible. I think it would be more fluent.

EDIT: to those complaining about pichu being a clone, pichu has been changed (and buffed) so much from melee that you can slap this texture on...


OH LOOK NEW CHARACTER! PACHIRISU JOINS TEH BRAWLZ! (it makes sence since pachi is small and fast.)

The aerial jolt thing is actually a glitch in the game's coding. Since ZSS is the only character that officially uses the stun element, the hit-effect was made specific to her pac file. If ZSS does not exist, then there is no graphic. :/

And shieldbreak works? For me it just freezes. I'll look into it xD

And @ utaunt... I'll look into it

Not bad actually. It was his Usmash, and his turning around during a dash. Oh, his Dtaunt too. Works awesome in-game though, I had a Battle with the fallen 5, excluding Young Link. >:3

WARNINGS: Having 3 of the Pichu mods in-game at the same time playing alongside Fortwaffle's Roy model causes Roy to grow 10 times his size. 4 Pichu's in-game causes P1's stat window to flicker at the results screen.

YAAA I know right!!! XD I had actually just seen only a few minutes before you had posted... it SEEMS that they've fixed out all of the bugs, since there are updated versions... well, to stay on topic, the only thing I can say atm is work out the N-Air animation. though much better, it still is... well, a bit odd haha. But I'm loving Pichu, self damage really hits home. some of it (one of the throws I forget which) has a bit too much damage to give imo... its like 13% isnt it?

I've got a list of values I'd be happy to upload for you. It'll be in a pdf... in fact, I think I already have uploaded, lemme check. Oh, and to actually activate it, you need Partial Size Modifier Offset Blah blah blah and Skip Pointers on (both are codes).

The animation might seem to flow better(although I think it looks perfect right now), but using the universal sleep, rather than pikachu's custom animation, would look worse in many ways.
Not only would it look like a "cheaper" solution, it might also be a bit confusing because the same animation means two different statuses. I very much like Utaunt as it is- I don't recommend changing it.

Also, the "Fountain" that is being referred to here is the grinding sparks effect(I believe it is output when bowser runs).

As the the stun effect- I didn't even know it had one(as I rarely have Samus in my games). It looks fine without an effect, to me. You might consider just removing the effect, altogether.


The Pichu model doesn't really look like Pichu, but it looks fun- I'm going to check it out.

This hack looks better in game than it does in the screen shots- it really does look a lot like Pichu, and I really like it. It makes it look much better if you add the goggles, as well.
There are a few places were the model reverts, but I'd almost call it impossible to notice, unless your looking for it. It also surprised me that this only effects the sizes of Pikachu's model- last I knew, PSM hacks effected all characters being used by player 1.
His ears get huge when using Nair, but it's funny, and not really a problem.

I'll definitely keep using this hack, until model injecting comes out.

No problem, then. It's fine as it is, really. I've been in multiple games with zss and never even noticed there was a difference. Perhaps I am just not very perceptive, but I don't think it's a problem, at all.

There's no way to do that, all of the files belonging to Brawl Pichu have been dummied (emptied of all contents, only there to take up space).

But I think it'll be... Well it's hard to estimate actually... Possibly in a month when we can import Vile's model? Whenever that'll come along I suppose.

If the bair animation hasn't been fixed yet, I can do an aerial version of the ftilt and make the kick go backwards, if you want a kick attack.

Yeah, first gen has all the best - they just keep getting stanger. I imagine if you swap bone sets then they won't be attached to the correct vertices. Please prove me wrong.

Bone swaps? Since when? If that is true, Brawl has truly reached it's final step in reaching mugen level. ANY CHARACTER CAN WORK NOW.
