Project M - Yoshi matches

Hey Yoshi smashers. Seeing as how it's only been about 2-3 days since his initial release. I wanted to go ahead and make a topic for uploading matches so other people can possibly learn something or come up with a movement of there own. Of course it would be dumb to make a topic and not have matches of my own to post. So i do have some based from my stream yesterday.

*Disclaimer*: Of course you know project M will likely change in the future and not all combos,moves,strategy,setups are final.

I was contemplating on not posting these cause twitch was not on my side concerning sound....it is extremely choppy but video works fine. So please please disable audio when watching this. I want to do more down the road but i have to much going on right now (Like a 3 hour drive to florida for work)

I want to apologize now, for any cursing/annoying sounds/surprises etc... This was my first experience with the game, so I definetely vocalized my excitement at times... ><; and I've never seen some of the new things many of these chars do so yeah.. ^^

Lemme rephrase that, this is the first time with the "Brawl cast".. so many things are new to me... the first cast, Calabrel mainly played melee related characters...

So my 2nd time actually playing, but my first time with the new cast...

I realy need some tips. I already figured 3 important things out: NEVER Crouchcancle Peachs DSmash (worst habit i ever had), need to learn reversed neutral-b, and edge-camping with eggs (which is kinda difficult for me since he doesn't jump after his up-b)

Thanks V3ctorMan!!^^ I'm proud to be reppin Yoshi, to be honest. When I showed up to my first Tournament I got a lot of surprise, especially when I had the gall to play in the Melee tourney with him, when I have lost some (But not all! ) of my Melee edge (and against Lucky!), and support from both sides for playin him. I'll keep at it, do my best and hopefully be more of a force to be reckoned with then I already am! ....... Which is a pretty good one.

Can't wait to see some Yoshi at apex! It'll be great to see all you guys reppin him and showing the world what Yoshi's made of! :D

If you want to see some amazing apex yoshi matches, just watch vgbc's salty suite. aMSa plays like 10 matches against pretty famous people (mattdotzeb, lucky etc.)

Cuz he wants to get on aMSa's level in Melee. Seeing aMSa pull off 9th place at Apex probably only lit a bigger fire under his butt.

Im more focused on melee..thats all..pm is good just, not my main focus.... Playing P.M. at apex, was only like my 4th, 5th time playing too (I'm honestly not as interested as most think, I just have a high understanding of the character Yoshi).. again, though, I want to help, along with aMSa, we wanna help with Yoshi in anyway we can...

As for P.M. I got to see many things i've never seen... Next time I play P.M. will likely be at the next national, so i'll learn even more then... but my main focus is melee.. Again, i'm not talented enough to play multiple games... (I barely got out of P.M. Pools even, and I got lucky, I should've gave my spot to aMSa in P.M day 2, since he sadly didn't get past day 1. I def would've watched him.

aMSa's placing didnt motivate me more than i already have been... Fact, is, I already knew of Yoshi's potential, and ability.. I had already proved it years ago with Pound..Difference is two things.. First, I sucked HORRIBLY at EVO, so the attention from me, went away, (makes sense honestly) I dont have anyone in my area to play...since I live 3.5 hours away from AZ... such as Taj, Axe, Wobbles etc.. I don't go to AZ tourneys, I don't practice.. I basically winged it, at apex.. so id say im doin pretty well given my limitations...Also i got 33rd at apex...not too bad for a washed up, has been/never was forgotten player...and my broken thumbstick dilemma...ill take it.. (of course i wanna do better and improve) but until I move closer to AZ, my limitations will likely be like this..

aMSa placing 9th, obviously overshadows my placing, and i'm fine with that... but me disappearing off the face of the planet, didn't happen, like many/most think it did...(there was talk of me not even getting out of my first pool) I hear all the chatter) I'm still around.... Lone in the shadows, sure, but out of commission.. nah, that's what you all and everyone else made it out to be.. and that's fine..

Fun Fact: I was the first person aMSa watched.. He learned most of his material off of me actually, and I'm honored.. He looks/looked up to me.. (This is just a case where the student surpassed the teacher, haha just like Axe did) I love it...

I wouldn't say i'm under fire, and even if I was, it's fine, it's constructive...I'm fine with aMSa being THE Yoshi... I always will be... what I WON'T be fine with, is if he takes a disheartening loss, or disappointment or something, and then all his "fans" that enjoy watching him, jump on to a different bandwagon and completely forget about him... I wouldn't want him to go through that... and I sort of think it's disrespectful.... That feeling sucks, and I'm sure most of us have gone through that...I sure have, (and it's fine) I just wouldn't want him to go thru it..

Anyway, I liked Yoshi in melee but never wanted to use him in tourney. Was a Falco/fox/falcon player. Always admired your Yoshi though. In PM I'm wanting to use other characters. Figured I would give Yoshi a go and if I like him I'll stick with him.

Keep the vids coming guys, yoshi's movements aren't difficult, just watching the situations in which you guys use them.

Good stuff in you matches Vman, maybe next time you are in Phoenix we can play. Maybe at a biweekly they usually have here.

I actually took about a 4 day break from PM and I did the best so far in these weekly tournies. Won 2 and lost 2, but that's the best I've done.

V3corman, I learned a ton from you as well. And I can't get to many tournies because I live farther away as well. But both you and aMsA are really good. Keep up the good work. Same with you Kaysick, and everyone else who has matches up. It's great for us who want a revamp of their game, or for newcomers who want to Yoshi. I'll beef up my game, and hopefully get to a tournament soon, and get on the stream. They're usually like an hour away, and at home I can't record. But I'll keep working things out.
