I meant that if you air dodge during a double jump, it doesn't cancel it, currently Lucas doesn't have this capability.
Let me ask you something:

Do you ever consider how silly and/or flat out dumb your ideas tend to be? No, even better, how borderline broken sounding they are? Because really, that's how a lot of your ideas are, especially this new one of yours.

It's almost like you're incapable of thinking about the repercussions of what you propose to the team. :|

Hint: No one takes you seriously.

I wouldn't say broken, it wasn't like Ness suddenly became top tier in Brawl+ because of this feature.
This is your problem, you're constantly referring to Brawl+. "Brawl+ did this, Brawl+ did that and it was fine there!"

Hint: This isn't Brawl+

The mechanics here are completely and utterly different. The air dodge system is not BAD (pun intended), it's MAD. There's a reason why I said borderline broken, it's because with something like that he could have a really really safe recovery with the directional air dodge. You're not taking that into consideration because you're constantly thinking about Brawl+. Which to you Brawl+ is the end all be all mod because it caters to exactly what you want.

So if that's the case, I'm constantly bewildered about why you play PM or even "support" it when you're grossly invested in Brawl+ as a whole.

You never consider the after effects of any of your ideas and constantly bother the dev team with them thinking it's perfectly okay to constantly nag a few of us over AIM. It's disgusting and I don't approve of your methods to try and shoehorn in your wacky and zany ideas; you never even take a moment to think about how they would pan out in a tournament setting. Casual is your priority and you've made that very clear in every post you have ever made in this thread. If you ever want to be taken seriously, think before you suggest anything and maybe people will actually consider your ideas.

If you still can't get the picture after this post... I.. can't even comprehend how that would be possible.

Guys just stop responding to Slashy, seriously. You only make it worse.

I think mechanically, we should try to make Project M as close to Melee as we can, with the only exceptions being the mechanics/universal techniques which Brawl introduced that we like (RAR, DACUS, glidetoss, etc).

Moveset-wise, other than Melee high/top tiers which are easy, it's really a case by case basis.

Does anyone main Lucas? I feel like I've yet to see any real high level Lucas play. The little guy has a lot of potential.

Also - did his fair get a kb increase in the patch? In recent vids it seems to be a bit stronger, but maybe it's just the fixed DI. (I feel like he could use it, but as I said he really hasn't been explored much so it's hard to say.)

I'd explain it like this: It should end up like Melee with more options. And Michael Jackson from Moonwalker needs to be in (Joke)

I read the whole first post and I got the automatic downloader, the only thing that seemed to change was the CSS and it wiped all of my music and textures. I can still airdodge in the air multiple times and trip, is it not that far along yet or did I do something wrong? (Haven't done this in close to a year).

If you hit back during the startup of your dash grab you'll do a turn around grab (and as you're likely using up and Z to Dacus, you may just be hitting back and mistiming the Z command, getting the immediate turn around grab).

A lot of people don't know they could turn around grab this way actually. You should ingrain this method instead of hitting back and then Z, because by hitting grab first you can do turn around grabs during your inital dash (something not possible with the other method). This is less important in brawl where initial dashes are really short, but some melee characters have long initial dashes while simultaneously having an amazing turn around grab (Marth) and you'd be missing out.
Very nice and informative piece of info DS. It's good to know these things, since I don't know Brawl how I know Melee. Thanks.

Wish posts like this would pop-up more often, thread's been dead to me for a while.

You didn't install the demo properly.

I played the demo alot against the CPUs. Did you do something to them or why do they sometimes do weird combo stuff that definitely doesn't work in Brawl lol.

Anyways I really like Falcon, especially that you can recover with the sideB and also that you can grab the ledge if you sideB off stage. His combos are mad and he feels very much like in Melee.

Btw do you have a changelist somewhere or a comparison list, for example how much damage the characters do in Melee and P:M? Would be pretty interesting.

There will be no change list until the final release. Making one is time consuming and would detract from making the game itself. Just enjoy the little character pages we made.

1) No AI changes have been made as of yet. If there were any, CPUs would stop airdodging so often. I figure they have adjusted to P:M to a degree. Falco double shine combo'd me the other day. I was like

2) Side B recovery against other players isn't terribly viable because of the way ledge grabbing works. Just a tip.

3) Above post.

I really like the way G&W is. He feels so good now. Can combo the hell out of spacies, and b-reversing bacon is pretty good, because the bacon covers him when he does it, and he is right there for a fair, or bair.

did you play gaw in melee? I'm talking about how maybe 40% of hits on his shield shield-stabbed. You couldn't trust it for anything. and the funky wavedash OoS is a universal problem, right?

Uhh, KevinM has a pretty sick Lucas.
I'll probably get around to recording one of these days eventually maybe.

Is there any footage of Project M Pit? I've been searching youtube for weeks now without any luck.

There are no videos of Pit: M. He has not had enough work to be shown off in videos. You might be able to see someone play Pit on one of the PMBR streams though.

Yeah, the easiest way to see Pit, the newer one, is to stick to the IRC, especially on the weekends. JCaesar, Standardtoaster, GHNeko and Sneak often post their streams there. Dantarion sometimes also streams stuff he's working on.

Yeah, but even without the shield-stabbing, the failed wavedash means I'm hit anyway. So it's like 90% instead of 40%. I suppose I should adjust my controls so I can JC Fire (maybe jump on Z, but I'm afraid of what'll happen when I return to Melee).

Asking about the release dates should be infractable. >.> Though, to be fair, there should be a warning somewhere. lol
