Also popped into some random stream on Hitbox and Cosmo happened to be there, he's been in contact with the Twitch staff and dropped some info.
They're doing this because "once a company gets too big it needs to protect itself" and "the 'meeting' twitch had was literally just 'maybe we could make playlists for vods that are broken into multiple 2 hr segments' and 'we will try to work with copyright owners to show them why allowing their audio is a good thing'"

Idk. Hopefully they realize they're pulling a really dumb move.

Haha, thanks. Quite humbling really. The initial Idea was building onto the end of Ocarina of Time's Childhood ending leading up to Link dying as a hero, but without having passed on the skills he learned, as well as not being remembered as the "Hero of Time". Seeing Link (As the "Hero's Spirit") speak in Twilight princess was kinda cool for me (even though it was more of a tutorial for a move unlock), and though I still kinda laugh at the thought, I began to ponder what it would be like if Link were a fire emblem Lord character. Then I thought about it and I began to fit certain characters into Fire Emblem style classes. Then I though of having environmental puzzles on the map. It's a silly little idea, but maybe it can inspire something of an RPG as long as I study up on scripts/file addition and replacement etc.

PS: I play these games way too often.

Im curious as to how you would do the environmental puzzles.

I guess I just really want to up the tension by having a players units in a bleak situation, situations where despite their units stats, they may be chipped down by enemies till the point of failure unless they look at the board and find that "ahah!" solution, thereby allowing access to a far less lethal part of the map. I'm really not sure how I'd get this to work, and it could become an absolutely terrible mechanic if the solving of an environmental puzzle that allows access to "campouts" on the map completely invalidates the strength of units themselves. Once again, this is only a daydream of a game without a true direction, but I guess I'll get back to comments on the idea once it has a more defined layout.

That's the most I can think of as of now. But once again, if I focus on solutions that might dilute combat dynamics in favor of giving the players a way out of defensive situations through puzzles and trick, the idea of it being considered a tactical game would evaporate out of existence.

I can only imagine what indie/triple A developers must go through when trying to brainstorm new dynamics in established genres. O.o

that is solvable by level design. you can even punish people who try to outsmart the game with good level design

I think this girl in my drivers ed class likes me. So there's no assigned seats and I tend to move every day, and I'm always there before this girl is. She sits down in the seat right next to me.

She also tries to talk to me and even makes excuses to talk to me; it almost always usually starts with a comment on my chemistry book that I read whenever we're not doing anything/have free time and always puts an effort in keeping the talk going. She seems to mimic my body language too in our conversations. Lately she's been passing me notes with compliments, today's was "You're really smart :-)"


She seems like a nice girl but eh, I'm not that attracted to her. Like I realize she's physically attractive as well but I personally don't find her attractive, ya know? Interacting with her every day is starting to become a nuisance since I'm way too tired in the morning to converse, and I'd very much rather read or do my classwork instead. I'd ask her politely to stop or just say back "I'm way too tired in the morning to talk." (I'm surprised she doesn't get this from my half-***** responses in our conversations) but I don't want to hurt her feelings especially since she's not doing anything wrong.

Get a girlfriend that's not her.

I did that too. Keeps the controller weight but gets rid of having to make sure rumble is always off.

Edit: I keep the rumble cylinder in there, because I like the "original" controller weight.

Then once I'm finally done with that we RPS for stage bans.
Then we press start and I discover rumble is on.
THEN I have to back out of two menus and go turn rumble off for my profile.

It'd be wise to be nice to her anyway. You might not like her, but that girl has friends, friends she probably talks with a lot. If she even gives them the hint that you're an asshole, you can very well up with a lot of girls hating your guts for no reason. And from past experiences I can tell you, that SUCKS. It works the other way too. No doubt she's at least mentioned you when talking with her friends already, no need to give her ammo for bad feedback.

It's just innocent flirting. Enjoy the attention while it's there, some of us have to work for it the old-fashioned way.

Now beyond wondering why people despise Rumble I'm not sure why you'd like that either.
I'm fine with the weight of normal ones now, might like it a tad lighter. Most controllers out there though throughout the generations are probly a lot lighter than the GCC (NES, Playstation, Genesis) with maybe the Dreamcast and 64 (including that big memory card for either) and Xbox coming close or possibly heavier?

I think Kadano specifically likes rumble for game feedback cues (knowing the exact point hitstun ends or something?), like a lesser form of what'd you lose listening to headphone music in tournament over game sound. And that brings up another recent thing too, cus I was playing tournament sets while listening to a whole interesting conversation people were having behind us and I'm not sure but I don't think it was aiding my play. I don't think I'm ever close to having the power to mindfully block outside stimulus like that, not sure if I'd want to build up a skill like that either. Maybe the better skill is to just be good at the opposite and be fine with focusing on both, like how Wes said about how he would trash talk people who weren't use to conversations while playing lol.

I played with a controller that had rumble on last night.

Let me tell you, after playing for years with no rumble it was terrible.

I swear that having rumble on in Melee wasn't as bad as it is in PM (probably Brawl's fault). Every action you do makes the controller rumble. I feel like in Melee you only rumbled when you got hit.

...I like rumble. I accidentally snapped the wiring that connects the rumble to the controller's board when I was cleaning it last, and had to dig out my soldering iron to fix it.

Although I kinda enjoyed the few days when I didn't have it in there, since the controller felt pretty good without the extra heft.
