So, social thread, at roughly 11PM last night, on the thought that I should try and the constellations,(it's summer and the night skies are cloudless, and clear where I live) I went outdoors, walked around my town for roughly 4-5 hours, brought music such as this,
,
and simply... looked up. Looked to the stars.
Did this, basically.
...I certainly get why people do it, now, that's for sure!
I'm gonna get a little wordy here. I don't have TOO much to say about it, as that would be to downplay.
Walking through my hometown in low light, and keeping my eyes looking up to the highest points of the horizon...
Only four separate words are what can at all convey the sorts of things I felt looking up at same dark blue yonder, untarnished, without pollution of just about any kind, and
bright, that my forefathers did hundreds of years ago, and their forefathers did, before them. (In Celtic lands, specifically Ancient Gaul in my case if my paternal grandmother is correct.)
(Wordless) Awe. Insignificance. (At how small I felt by comparison; a gap I intend to close someday.) Wonder. (How long before we are up there, someday? The sky ISN'T the limit.)
...Hope. For a better day today, even with the pain, injustice, and horrors that may come(like with the Middle East!), and a tomorrow better than that, even with what may be difficult to move on from then. Heh...
Keep on moving
forward; keep on standing
higher, just like the Dai-Gurren Brigade did, I suppose.
tl;dr I looked at stars last night, it was cloudless and crystal-clear.
Got this.
