Oh, we doin pics now?
I was struggling so much to keep my balance when this was taken.
This was a couple weeks ago, went camping with some friends for my 23rd birthday. Specifically at this moment I was many beers in, and reeeeeaaaaaally high.
As far as birthdays go, this one was super rad. Hiking when ****ed up was awesome, would recommend.

So in the last couple months, I've since wall mounted two of my screens. As a result, I've been living on a high of free desk space. Thus next, I wanted my microphone off my desk and I ordered a mic arm.

Little did I know however, that the Blue Yeti needs a proprietary shock mount, or a very versatile one. AKA the one my mic arm came with doesn't fit.

So my options were the $70 Blue shock mount or committing this production crime:

Was watching Fox News (I watch Fox, CNN, and MSNBC equally), so the report is that the schools in Gaza indoctrinate the Palestinian children into wanting to take back land from Israel. The lady who broke the story makes her case. Then a man from the organization that runs the schools (I think its a UN effort around the world, not just in that region) starts making his case. He takes out his ear piece, so he can't hear anyone to tell him that his time is up. After talking very quickly for about the same time as the lady, if not more, they finally got him to put his ear piece back in somehow. The host asks him questions, saying that the evidence seems to show otherwise. He then starts asking the host lots of questions. "If we are so anti-semitic, why did we get the greatest boost in funding during the Bush administration? You're Fox; you're close to Bush administration. You know everything about Bush!" The host then quickly and firmly responds, "First, be nice. Second, I'm the host, standing in for Megyn Kelly, and I ask the questions. Both sides make their case and the viewers get to decide."

Cable news networks never fail to impress me.

I feel sorry for the mic. If you do want a legit shock mount try a AT 8441 I have only ever crossed one mic that didn't fit in one of those (and it was a 70lb mic that had its own self contained shockmount anyway).

EDIT:that shock mounts are ~$20 each used $10 if the string is busted

@ Lizalfos Lizalfos you have to specify an adjective when you use a qualifier.

For example: I've slept with a number of Hollywood actresses.

That number is zero.

Tink-er: The biggest sloot for girth
I don't think I have enough room in my signature to sig this. Oh well, guess people don't get to know how much of a weeb I am now.

Where specifically is my error? I want to fix it now.

Oh my god. With that kind of quality...you could produce vast amounts of media that is better than cable news.
$11,000 makes a very tiny outdated crapy studio, The price break up is something like this $1,000 for mics $2,000 for mic stands $5,000 for computer stuff $2,000 for interface stuff and $1,000 for EQ and FX stuff i've probably got another $2,000 worth of instruments and amps. All that was bought between me and my dad (my dad is a recording engineer I help set stuff up)

You asked him if he had quality equipment. He does. He has admittedly relatively low quality equipment. Quality is (no pun intended) a qualifier. The adjective you were looking for to compliment said qualifier is high. That said, I was mostly using you to make that joke. Realistically, quality, as you used it, has shifted in meaning to include the implicit "high," and only some prick would actually care or be that much of a knowledgeable grammar Nazi to care. English has no institution, and any usage is correct as long as it gets the point across.

Thank you friendly neighborhood knowledgeable grammar Nazi prick!

Our weekly today was so sweet, all of the sudden our stream had over a hundred viewers. Turns out GimR couldn't make it to Xanadu (and I guess no one else could get stream equipment on short notice?) so he hosted our stream. Everyone got pretty hype when I told them what was going on.

That's such a nice thing for him to do, giving exposure to some random scene that usually doesn't get much viewers. Mad respect to the guy.

Truth be told, I think we have one of the largest scenes around. How many regions round up ~60 people every week for PM?

It was awesome though. Too bad the VGBC fans had to sit through my terrible commenting.

Well we only hit those numbers starting last week, so it's not been a consistent thing for a while. And even with good tournout in players we don't get many viewers. Generally it's 15-30 watching, we hit 50 once before. So waaaay more attention this weekly than any other.

And lol they had to deal with my commentary too :p

I can't come because I live in Florida. But I guess it could be worse. I guess I could live in Mario.

Also, this chick's amazing.

I think our scene here in MA is the only other one that pulls that many a week as well. We've been getting 100+ entrants a week since early July at Smashing Grounds.

Seems like we're only behind you guys, MD/VA, Texas?
I can't really think of other big scenes.

Ummm guys socal gets 100+ at weeklies. for each game. the turn outs were so huge they had to split up the venue so melee and PM had different alternating weeks.

Oh yeah, forgot about California.
Our melee scene is kind of slow. It had its moment when the doc came out, but at the rate we're going PM is looking to easily get double the turnout. It's starting to look as if we're going to need a new venue already.
