The newer ones i agree but we need more PKMN Origins or PKMN Chronicles type stuff. I'm waiting for Japan to finish the Strongest Mega Poke arc so I can watch it.

EDIT: I didn't cry at the end of the first movie i was like loldamn he's a idiot. Years later when I watched it I was lol get blasted scrub.

I shed a tear for Mufasa, but I certainly didn't for the Dumbash. I was like "Why did he run into the blasts? What an idiot".

Real Talk, all the Pokemon movies don't really age all that well. I mean the villain of the second movie wasn't give a name in the whole movie!
You pretty much have to go to bulbapedia to learn that his name was Lawrence the 3rd.

The Pokémon movies work terribly with the television series canon. There's references to the movies in the show here and there, but the characters mostly just forget the movies ever happened, even after meeting big legendaries and saving the world. It only really made sense for the first movie. Of course it's because the Pokémon company has to make the tv show watchable without having to watch the movies.
Also the location switches are jarring because the movies presumably take place between major events in the show, so it's... simple grass plains → Greece → simple grass plains over the course of a few days.

Even movie to movie has bad consistency, just look at ****ing Mewtwo
The newer movie Mewtwo is supposed to be a different one, but I've read Ash doesn't even recognize the species (which he should because his memories weren't erased in Mewtwo Returns).

inb4 Pikachu kills some overpowered ubermon then loses to Picnicker Billy's Wingull
That already happened with Latios vs Pikachu ending in a draw then getting wrecked by a snivy.

"but he had his thunder stolen"

Well Pikachu also got wrecked by a surskit in X and Y although that was a gym leaders

Just like the DBZ movies lol. On the discussion of it though the only time they even reference anything from the movie in the anime from what I remember was the first two movies in their respective regions like IDK this is in the JPN version of not but during the Lugia arc in the Johto anime in the 4kids dub, Team Rocket references the movie in which they see the Whirl Islands Lugia and it's kid for the first time and say " Oh a Lugia, Just Like in the Orange Islands". So that's some small knowledge for you to look into if you wish.

Man, watching sets with no music on is so weird. I don't know if I like it better this way or not. It legit felt like watching a match of tennis or something.

This. The Pokemon anime (one with Ash at least) just isn't that great. How the **** is it still on TV? Seriously, there's just so many better replacement shows. And didn't they say like four or so seasons ago it was the LAST ONE?

I can't guarantee these are all the videos you guys are asking for, but here's at least a few of the videos
I honestly just grabbed them up from YouTube and posted them, only started watching the Grand Finals one.

Because it's a hit or miss show with adults.

It's good for young kids who like Pokemon and the concepts are much more interesting than the stats being the only thing that matters of the real games.

Besides.
Gen 1 was funny
Orange islands was there
Gen 2 was okay
Gen 3 was there
Gen 4 was legitimately good
Gen 5 had potential but fell short
Gen 6 seems to be starting strong.

This is considering the fact that I'm judging this anime like a kids show, and not some show that is supposed to be judged on the same tier as critically acclaimed shows.

The show to me just felt lazy though after Gen 3, I mean I watch shows for Plots usually or at the very least witty writing.

Did you actually watch Gen 4?

Gen 4 had the best plot of them all just because of ash and paul's rivalry. I'm not saying the whole season was good either. There's always some bad episodes in a Pokemon season. But that one had the most solid fights, the most competent trainers, a pretty good evil team that actually ended up being a threat. And Hunter J, who was literally ruthless but made for a good villain when she popped up.

Dawn's contests and internal struggles represented her growth as a trainer properly as well.

As far as Pokemon standards are, it was a really good season.

As far as anime standards are, it's mediocre.

As far as a kids show, it can keep a kid very interested in it.

I hardly got the chance to watch Gen Four. I'm fairly certain I've seen a quite a bit of it. I honestly enjoyed the characters'. However, a kid and friends, going around a large area and collecting badges while solving typical every day issues and occasionally bumping into his rival just doesn't sound very interesting to me. I really enjoyed certain aspects though - like the rival. While it just wasn't that big of a deal for me, it didn't mean I didn't find it interesting. I honestly, think the only thing I might've enjoyed out of the episodes in terms of issues they might bump into - I enjoyed the episodes that involved the Pokemon crushes with each other. It just to me gave the characters even Pokemon themselves that much more personality.

To be fair though, I guess I was more of a Digimon guy in terms of plot. At least the first two seasons.

I think it was originally going to be just based on gen 1, but it was renewed because popularity. I'm not 100% sure, though.

XY is excellent so far in my opinion. After watching Origins, it would be hard to go back to the older animation quality (which still had a decent bump up in Gen 5 for the most part), and XY is sufficiently well put together.

Also I don't consider "it's for kids" to be a good John for a show's quality. I don't think kids should be given crap any more than anyone else.

It's not a john.

Kids have different appeals.

Things that you might find lame or cringeworthy or ridiculous, a kid might find far more interesting and actually think it's cool.
The plots that we see as redundant or not really interesting a child might see more interest in.

Things like the thunder armor for example. While it's ridiculous looking back at it while I'm older, I won't lie when I say that I thought it was one of the coolest things ever in Pokemon back then.

It's for kids literally means it's target demographic is kids and the show might not appeal to older viewers.

If older viewers enjoy it as well then that's just better for the show producers.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy pokemon anime right now though.

Not disagreeing, in fact I don't think I actually said it was a bad kids' show. I think I just said the show was pretty low on anime standards - or to be fair it has fallen a lot from the original.

He's good, but I just can't like the way he plays. He uses wobbling way too much for my tastes. I'm twice glad PP won.

wobbling is an incredibly recent thing for him IIRC. fly's getting into wobbling too, it's just a thing you need to do in order to catch up with the metagame now

I'm not surprised people are complaining about wobbling.

Forgot to mention I sorta lost track of what Generations they were following to be honest. I have an incredibly hectic work schedule and I just rarely got ahold of the games and made it harder for me, yet to keep up. Since I noticed you mentioned Dawn was in the Fourth Gen. that arguably was my favorite Generation actually. Not just games wise - but from what I saw in the series, y'know aside from the original Generation. Actually strike that! Overall favorite generation just game-wise was second Gen. I ****ing loved that Generation.

haha the second gen was pretty bad-ass. honestly i loved every generation from 1-4 ( 4 especially ). 5 wasn't very challenging or remarkable. and 6 is so...... yea lol.

I do. What kind of deck are you looking at? Also, is there a particular format you're trying to stay in?
