Educational. Teach me more.
Gotta let things soak in first, or this starts to happen MORE and MORE and nobody gets anywhere.
I got about one third into that post and gave up.
Doesn't matter, you got everything you wanted and needed, and if that's enough than it's perfect. :D

Edit: PM at Evo Plx
I almost got double-post-mind-gamed for the first time, but you saved me...

I wouldn't worry about it guys. The smash scene has never been stronger than it currently is.

Smash 4 is on the horizon and that's only going to open the floodgates for more fans to find the competitive side of the series. Just take a deep breath and don't worry about it.

If it happens? Great! If it doesn't? Oh well!

I'm gonna be upset if smash isn't at evo. I enjoyed watching it so much and kinda tells me nintendo doesn't like competitive players.

I own this game (or one of them) but I've never played it.
Are these things... fun/good enough to bother playing?
I say it's worth a try. It's hard for me to explain this game.
All of the games have a fairly slow start, and I can say with confidence that these games aren't for everyone.
The story and dialogue can get corny at times, and the gameplay is even more straight forward than in the main series Pokemon games.

However, even with those flaws, I still like the Mystery Dungeon games more than the main series Pokemon games.

One thing is certain...the game is extremely adorable, if you care about that sort of thing.

We had donation money to lean on last year.
Now we're left in a position where we need to say "Pretty please, mommy?"
"We?" Don't lump me in with that crap, I'm self-sufficient(I pay my own bills mostly/etc.)

Get Time or Darkness. The story was, imo, absolutely riveting and one of the few games that I cried from during the climax and ending.
That the one with Kyurem(I know the backstory if yes.)?
That one was.... absolutely soul-wrenching. I READ about the plot and had to take a break. So close to a downer ending.

Well, they can't do too much to us.
Sure, they ARE the Big N, but they aren't bigger than a global movement.

No, that one is the most recent PMD, Gates to Infinity. Time/Darkness are the ones with Grovyle and Primal Dialga.

That's not what he meant. He meant, last year, the donation drive was a good incentive for NoA to back off, or risk the bad PR of "Nintendo doesn't respect charity drives!" etc. Now, this year, since we won't be donating any money, we have to beg Nintendo to let EVO stream Melee without any real reason for them to. He didn't mean literally begging mommies, or asking for money, he meant we'd have to beg Nintendo.
But geez, projecting much?

Yo yall need to chill. If Evo doesn't happen G3 will almost certainly happen. And if THAT doesn't happen then LTC2 will happen even harder

There was a problem fetching the tweet

There's like no chance of Genesis NOT happening if Evo doesn't happen.
Honestly I would be just as hype to see Genesis 3 as I would be to see Evo 2014. Evo 2013 was as a milestone because the community fought so hard for it, and for sure Evo 2014 wouldn't have that same emotional tie to it. It's not just another tournament, it would never be that, but to me Evo 2014 would be on the level of Apex 2014. And prior to our inclusion in Evo 2013, Genesis was "another" Apex. Apex was to East Coast and winter as Genesis was to West Coast and summer. With the explosion of the Smash community we could be assured that Genesis 3 would rival Apex 2014 (and if showings of recent local Cali events topping 150+ show anything, I wouldn't be surprised to see it even top Apex).

Evo 2014 is in some degree out of our hands. Sure we can all jump on our fancy birds and implore Nintendo to do the right thing, but this time around there isn't a tangible force pushing Nintendo towards our side. Last time there was; it was to the tune of about ninety-five grand.
Let's be honest, Nintendo didn't really have a choice last time. All the blood sweat and tears we poured into the fundraiser, to raise THAT much money out of the pockets of an underground scene filled with (mostly) broke ass gamers all because we love their game... And for Nintendo to act against those efforts was a clear PR nightmare. And it showed with just how fast it was overturned. For a lesser company a move like that could be fatal. Sure, Nintendo's too large for that, but no company wants a stain THAT large on their image. A stain like that would never go away. So really, Evo 2013 was out of their hands.
But this time it's mostly in their court.
I want Nintendo to give the greenlight, but I won't be crushed if they don't because we'll have an amazing event already lined up to take its place. Actually, what would be worse in my opinion is Nintendo's answer regarding Evo would almost assuredly be their answer to MLG as well, and MLG, at least to me, represents more than Evo. Not only from a vacuum, but also in terms of Smash and our history. The "Golden Era" of Smash was MLG. For me personally, watching MLG back in '06 is what got me into competitive Smash. But it's more then just our history with MLG; MLG isn't just a one time event like Evo. It's an entire professional circuit. It's e-sports. E-sports are different from the FGC (http://shoryuken.com/2011/12/12/gue...pective-on-the-fgc-and-esports-communities-2/ I would suggest people to read ultradavid's article he wrote a couple years back on the topic). All FGC games are underground by nature, even the most successful ones that have developer support. That's what separates all of us in the FGC (and certainly those of us in the Smash subset of the FGC) from e-sports. E-sports gets national attention. E-sports sell out the Staples Stadium. I love the FGC, and I love the underground nature that we have formed under. I wouldn't change that for the world, but I want more alongside it for Smash because I love Smash and everything it's done for me. I want our underground culture to exist alongside that big stage. I want to be able to go to a local Friday night held at some rundown bar that agreed to let us all in, and wake up Saturday and turn on an MLG stream to spend my afternoon.
Now, that's not to say that Melee being on the circuit is a sure thing. The only thing that we know is that they want us for Anaheim, and that they will assess things from there. It's that possibility of the circuit though. So all of my ravings aside... I just ****ing love Smash.

Man, my town is finally getting a Project M scene together. Feels good. Amazing what playing once a week can do for ya.

I was projecting a bit, I am not a typical Smasher and I must have everyone know it!

The rest of that was me misunderstanding the meaning I thought I saw. Oops!

Lucky, I have a scene set to go, just add people other than me, and no one in my town(5-6 for PM from here, I SEE Y'ALL IN THE LOCATOR) has contacted me yet.

I'm constantly torn between wanting to write way too many paragraphs about why my favorite characters would be great in PM and also trying to avoid being That Guy™.

But, I mean

Mech, you should keep on reaching out until they realize that you're there. I'm sure if you're patient it will work out.

Spidermad, that video was pretty funny.

Ryxis, I mean, That Guy™... Never mind.

Not a fan of that thread. I'm not very interested in character speculation, as nothing I say or do will affect the PMBR's decision in any way, shape, or form. I'd rather let them surprise me than get all excited about an idea that never materializes.

Guess.
There is this one thing that confuses me (as much as I love it): How comes you can't create a save file when you open Project M in the Dolphin emulator?

It might not be the place to be heard by PMBR, but it is a place to be heard by other players who will listen to your rants and ravings about why character x should be in the game. And discuss why certain aspects would or would not work. I was just suggesting it so he wouldn't be That Guy™ here.

There are also people who feel we need Young Link as a third Link character in P:M. Pichu is by far the better choice of those two, and the only clone that would be worthwhile to bring back still.

Yung Link is swag Link. Toon Link is no bueno.
I'd be down with replacing Toon Link with Young Link, but we don't need a game with Link, Yink, AND Tink.

Edit: But WW has a surprisingly large fanbase.

That reminds me. I promised I'd play through and beat Wind Waker months ago to see if my opinion would change about it, and while sailing did get pretty tedious at times and the Triforce Quest was pretty annoying, I found it to be a quite an enjoyable little ride. I didn't know there was a landmark on every square of sea before, and finding a Piece of Heart on one of them I happened to stumble across made me want to explore every bit of the sea to see what other secrets I could find to get stronger. While Wind Waker's bad points still stick out to me enough to not feel like replaying it again, I can truly see while people like it so much.

It'll work out; I have an ideal location and ideal draw points to go for besides PM.

I'm just super-hype, therefore super impatient. It'll happen; I just want it to happen FAST.
