The moment Mecha Sonic arrived I was smiling the whole way through! SMBZ was the **** and I can't believe it's actually coming back.

Also, is Mecha actually canonically stronger? He can go Super, but regular Knuckles alone can defeat him.

Knuckles can only defeat super Mecha through his periods of vulnerability.

While Mecha is actually in super form, is completely intangible as would Super/Hyper Sonic/Knuckles and Super Tails would be. And just like their forms, Super Mecha Sonic needs energy to sustain his super form, but since he cant use rings, he has to constantly recharge via the master emerald. Its during these periods of vulnerability that knuckles has to actually attack.

As for Mecha vs Metal;

Metal has the ability to learn and evolve and it shows in the Comics and to some degree in the game. Mecha isnt on that level of intellegence, but he is also pretty sentient considering the work he does on his own occasionally in S3K; however the ability to channel energy from the master emeralds means that he can do the same with the chaos emeralds, and to me that shows a trait of superiority over Metal that is pretty important.

He's rebooting the entire series!
I just hope he doesn't get burnt out again. I'd love how he'd recreate the Axiom Rangers X battles

The Mecha Sonic in SMBZ is technically stronger even in base form, since he's a fusion of all the other Metal Sonic prototypes.

Watching that OMM was like I was in 2007 all over again.
