he starts shifted back so, assuming you want grab ranges from their idle animation, the most relevant part of that for roy would be the part he always has to go through, the shifted back part

Probably because it's a racial slur. Mostly fallen out of use, but I still hear it occasionally.
Mostly when a lot of academic institutions use it as their course catalog tag.

The first three letters of Japanese are censored because it was a racial slur used commonly in WW2 against Japanese people. Seriously go look up some propaganda posters from that era, you'll see that word slapped on all of them.

I understand you used it as an abbreviation though, I highly doubt you meant to be racist.

Both are technically accurate readings of the Kanji 日本, making the literal translation "Sun Origin" or something to that effect. Hence the phrase, "Land of the Rising Sun".

You can apply that to pretty much any country with a strong national identity. It's actually really interesting to read about, and you can see it all over the place today-even/especially in America, it's just a bit less overt than usual, and not quite as widespread.

Go look at the propaganda against Germany in WWI (I recommend listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast with the series "Blueprint to Armageddon". It goes into some of the experiences of those who fought in the trenches.) and the Black Legend of Spain.
