I believe he's making reference to Ganondorf's Aerial Down Special. That's a spike if anyone has ever seen one, and induces plenty of "DISRESPECT!!", chanting.
Wizard's Foot: Disrespectful

Falco's Much safer but comparable Dair that is 11 times faster: A valued part of melee that should never be touched by us plebians

Even so, look at the list of other practical spikes, either they require some pretty strict spacing to work, or strict timing for it to to be super punished. The bird's spike can just be kinda tossed out and for the entire move be a "lol, you're dead". Souldn't it be in line with the other spikes?

I'd prefer changing spacing over timing tbh

pillar combos are their bnb, you change that you're messing up a lot of things. it's why PAL falco vs. NTSC falco is weak compared to PAL fox vs. NTSC fox, who is still good under its nerfs

I doubt that's still canon.
I AM OFFENDED BY THAT COMPARISON
What? you guys seen this right http://nintendoeverything.com/star-fox-had-metal-legs/
Also my signature is now top tier, light press air dodge is amazing and I found out my soul destiny is to make sure it is not deleted, and I also found out a WHOLE LOT'a people L-cancel with hard press and won't change their habit to suit themselves better in the future similar to LPAD. I played Melee competitively before the first demo, but light press then came into my life and it showed itself to be so much more comfortable and it was P:M's destiny in the Smash continuum to accidently discover the greatness of making one of the most used input in the game for the competitive player the same ease to press as L-canceling.

you're all bad with jokes and I will beat you all up
Oh, did it have to do with your tag name? I just look at people with "That's the green lookin avatar premium guy, changes his avatar a lot but now he's on that one music artist one similar to nujabes but with only piano, kind of reminds me of that Calvo guy, where's Kink-Link at anyways?" That wasn't your original tag though right? This is why people need signatures with their name on everything multiple times

Smash is a bad game if you follow that logic
But none of the other Star Fox games have any hint of the prosthetic legs as far as I know.

Also, I don't think a game is necessarily bad if it doesn't have good continuity, especially if it's a fighting game that isn't story heavy like Smash.

It's pretty clear in Star Fox 64 that they are prosthetics. They share the same shape and metalic coloring as seen in the art of the original game.

The N64 obviously can't handle the fine details that you see in the artwork, but if you look to the 3DS remake the updated models do have the nuts/bolts/whatever that clearly signal robot legs. Particularly you can see the "joint" of the prosthetic, the axis upon which his ankle moves.

Melee definitely has the prosthetic legs as well.

Star Fox Adventures, he no longer has that sleek tapered look (particularly at the ankle) of the prosthetic legs. I think the shape is basically the biggest indicator that they move away from the prosthetics here.

Assault carries over them same shape from Adventures, and in an even bigger indicator notice how short the boots ride up on his legs. In every other game the boots have cut off just below the knee. In Assault his boots now basically go up to his shins.

Then we have Brawl and Smash Wii U's design, where he even has straps to tighten the boots. Basically no question.

The powershielding is getting to me because I can powershield easily with Bowser, DK, Fox, pretty much any character.... except Link, for some reason I have an insane amount of trouble doing it with this character, and I'm trying to figure out why

I was thinking maybe the hylian shield might have something to do with it?

Everybody's talking about the games when it comes to Star Fox and their robo legs, but the comics are where that's actually pointed out.

So the robot legs is a joke, right? RIGHT? I hope people are smarter than that.

It's funny how the Adventure/Assault era Fox looks the closest to the original puppet and is therefore the most unsettling design.

The Melee design is like a medium between the two (64 and Adventure) in terms of realism.

The Brawl design (other than the clown shoes) is a huge step above the Command design.

Look at this ugly thing:
