When I was 16~ my parents let me travel to smash stuff on my own, go away for weekends and come back whenever, so long as I was back for school nights. The transport system over here is amazing though, so it's easy for young people to make their way back home.

I'm actually curious, for all you young people, how late are you allowed to stay out for when it comes to Smash (or even in general)? My mom doesn't seem to care how long I stay out as long as I have a ride home, and if it's a school night, I go to school in the morning.

@ Leafeon If you build it, they'll come. I'm pretty optimistic that PM has a bright future, whether or not Nintendo eventually pulls its head out of its collective exhaust port.

The D1/GIMR incident seems to have been a positive kick in the pants for the community, and opinion seems to be very slowly swinging in our favor as people begin to realize that PM is simply better designed for the competitive community than its current, uh, competition.

I really hope the PMDT knocks it out of the park with 4.0 - it's amazing how much more balanced 3.5 is than 3.0, even though balance wasn't really its primary concern. If 4.0 manages to integrate balance, design, and some of the kind of 'coolstuff' that still attracts some people to 3.0 (but obviously without the bustedness/questionable design), the game's popularity will probably surge, and acquire a lot more stability. 3.5 Ganon is a pretty perfect example of all of this; he feels ridiculously strong and insanely satisfying to play as, without actually being broken or unfun to play against. I sacrifice a goat every night to aid my prayers that more characters get similar treatment.

50 miles is only ~3 hours by bike and South Carolina is a pretty flat state, bike it. unless you ave a garbo tier walmart bike then you should sit at home reflecting on your poor life choices.

Very slowly. There will always be idiots (and it will be worse in some places than others), but every couple weeks I'm approached by someone else who'd basically quit PM due to 3.0, but wants to get back into it. I guess that's anecdotal as hell, but the anti-PM sentiment was absolutely noxious in AB, so I figure if it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.
