OK It's 7°F here and the wind chill factor is at -11°.
Even with gloves, I almost got frostbite on my fingers.
Ridiculous.
It's been a long time since it's been this cold.

That's nothing. Try living in the Midwest where -10 is a high temperature
In canada, Where I live, it was like, -40 celsius yesterday. :(

Edit: which equals -40 in farhenheit, for you americans. Also, where my father lives, he said it was like -55 with the wind.

Yesterday I had to turn all the air conditioners at work because guests complained it was 80 outside and the building got stuffy. RIP rest of the nation

What kind of development?

It's a decent laptop but that's a pretty weak graphics card. I mean, if you really want to do heavy development, it's typically best to just build your own computer. The CPU is decent, but it's still a chip designed for a laptop, which means that desktop i5s outperform it.

Basically, for $1k you could easily build something that's much more capable.
It's more I don't know where to begin for building one lol

I'd probably practice a secondary just at the Marth matchup (ROB or Dedede might be possible).
I actually think practicing a character for one matchup can be pretty efficient, because you always have a clear view on the opponent's options.
The other option is to practice Ivysaur vs Marth, but I think if the opponent is a good one that isn't a good idea, you might catch them offguard once or twice with new innovation but as soon as they adapt the matchup shows its honest and brutal side.

Also, I feel for you, that's a pretty bitter bracket as Ivysaur ^^

No worries! Remember that massive post I made about the internet letting you learn to do anything? Same applies here. I built my first computer around 4 or 5 years ago, and I've upgraded that budget build into an enthusiast-range build with quite a bit of power over the years, besides building a couple other computers for friends and internships. Lots of brownie points to be had there, haha. Plus, upgradeability is a huge plus.

For $1k, depending on what you already have (monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc.) you can get quite a lot of power. I'd actually recommend visiting the buildapc subreddit. It's what helped me in building my computer for the first time, and there are a lot of helpful people that hang around there. If you check out the sidebar, there are also lots of helpful building resources there.

The hardest part of building a computer isn't putting it together - putting it together is just sticking everything into the slots that they fit into - the hardest part is picking out the right parts for your build. PCPartPicker is a fantastic resource for this, too, and makes it easy to have a nice, shareable build list as well.

If you want, PM me and I can help you work out a preliminary build list for you that you can take to /r/buildapc for a wider variety of feedback, or something like that.

I do have a decent DK and the matchup is even-ish, last tourney I took that Marth to last stock with him and I've trained a lot since. But this time around he switched to Marth on his counterpick rather than mine, so I had to announce my character first. I went Ivy because I'm stupid, apparently.

I really dislike having to play another character though. As soon as I'm playing a tournament set and put my competitor's cap on, I will try my hardest and do anything it takes to win, but outside of tournaments, I'm supposedly a community leader in my region. I'm supposed to be the one advertising the game, telling people why it's good and why they should give it a try. And it really felt dishonest when I tried to switch mains when 3.5 was released, while at the same time hosting tournaments and telling everyone "what's good about PM 3.5 is how balanced it is, you can literally just pick the character you like most, and if you work hard enough, you'll win tournaments !"
It eventually felt so dishonest that I went back to Ivy despite this negating any chances of me winning tournaments in 3.5.

Here's the VOD if you guys wanna laugh at me =P

I just visited every game's social thread because I was bored.
Melee and 64's are too barren, Brawl's doesn't even exist, and Smash 4's ate too much candy.
Never again.

No I got that.

I just don't want a blog.

People follow you on blogs for posting good content, but that way they're only there because of what I posted, as opposed to me posting here because I feel like posting for you people that give me enjoyment. Give and receive and what not.

Why do you think I don't post stuff on smash 4 boards.

N-not that I like you guys or anything
