Oh, this local series I've been told of should be only about ten minutes away.
Most of the tournaments I've been to were 1.5 hours away in the next county. For a while I just stopped caring about participating with that far away but semi-local scene because I got sick of some of the people in the facebook group.

I actually live in SoCal.

I live in SoCal as well and I feel your pain. SoCal is mainly just the LA area and to a lesser extent the San Deigo area. Anywhere else in SoCal its frustrating to be so close yet so far away from where the action is. Thankfully the local scene where I am is stepping it up and we have been getting a lot of local tourneys recently
