On a different note, has anyone noticed that with the influx of new members to Smashboards in general has come with a lot of fresh blood to Smash...period?

Like worse than brawl. It seems like there is a greater amount of people that dont know **** about the community and its established history, traditions, and norms, and also feel compelled to comment in regards to that ****.
Idk bro I've only been here a year

Does Brawl's Dual Stick SDI work? Why?
Yes, unless pm 3.5 changed this which I doubt. It works because as I said the c-stick functionally overrides your analog input for 1 frame. So let say you hold up and press c-stick left. Then that's functionally the same as you would have first hold up, then move the control stick to left for 1 frame and inputted attack, and then moved your stick back to up after the frame. So you would get 2 sdi inputs for every correctly chosen c-stick input (unless the c-stick is assigned to tilt).

Why Does C-stick Moonwalk work? Why do you have to hold A?
If you hold the button that is assigned to the same action as the c-stick, then the c-stick only inputs a direction. So you can input the opposite direction to which you are moonwalking for 1 frame. This results in moonwalk because you can't turn on the first 3 frames of dash.

Edit: Now that I've read the change list for 3.5 I think that the button differentiation definitely could've killed c-stick moonwalk. Maybe the team just didn't want to do that and left c-stick to work like it did before. Or attack inputs weren't differentiated. Also I should probably stop commenting mechanics stuff about a changing game I haven't kept up with lol.

I dont think so. The competitive community started pretty much with Melee, so there were no standards or norms within the community, that and the community was much smaller, and general forum etiquette was different back then.

With Brawl, there came an influx of players that knew little about the community, and that's fine, but there were some who made comments in regards to the community that were pretty ignorant and unfounded and could have avoided them getting blown up if they had just lurked more and had better forum etiquette.

Brawl newcomers was still pretty good overall.

Now, with Smash 4. It feels like the newcomers are akin to SRK 09ers. Saying stuff about things that they wouldnt say had they opted to not post 2 mins after registering and instead just learned more about the community, and not just their game.

The most recent example I feel is in the Mayflash adapter thread in the news section. There is a post about Mayflash being low quality and a post trying to criticize the news poster about posting a mayflash adapter thread without testing it because a bunch of people will take his post as an endorsement, but that makes a huge assumption about a majority of the community, of whom are not 2 days old and know better already.

Yeah it's an established brand among the community. You do enough reading and you'll find that out within Smashboards.

At least I have yet to come across a negative review of the devices. Either people say it's okay, its great, or they dont say anything at all.

Also, I think it's kinda cool that siblings are posting in the some thread, wish my siblings had that much swag ):.

Obviously it would be a bunch of eye tormenting black and white motion sickness illusions, those are powerful

PMDT should use a clone character slot to make the tornado on Hyrule work. It is that important.

Edit: More wisdom. A premium benefit should be the ability to like your own posts.

I have this, but the speed of the movements makes it a bit hard to see on my phone camera.
Now just do it again but this time hold in your controller's analog while you press X Y Start for 3 seconds and proceed to perform the action with the crotch cam recording and then proceed to record the TV playing the replay and sync them side by side using a video editor and upload to youtube

I... what.
Disabling your analog via the 3 second X+Y+Start while holding them in will make sure replays work (for the Fullset)
Once replays work. You can perform the same thing you did in that gif, except now save the replay and record the TV playing it.
Then use a video editor to sync both recordings (that appear next to each other) as best as you can; it's best to have the sound loud for such (and usually making the video 1/3 speed or so get a real close sync)

That sounds like a lot more work than I'd bother to do, especially considering it took me about thirty minutes just to get that gfycat.

You can try to position the phone to rest inside the collar of your shirt (or hold a small plate with your teeth and rest the phone sideways on that, this depends on how good Canadian dental is) and raise your hands in front of the TV just under it to record both at the same time

Yeah I know I know loooool.
I just cant seem to NOT play this game though.

I keep coming back to play it almost every single day.

The only thing that pulls me away from PSO2 is Smash.
Maybe I'm just burnt out on MMO-type (not necessarily style; WoW-like and PSO-like both) games. It's also hard when I'm playing comparatively better designed games from an action standpoint (hey Wonderful 101 and soon Bayo 2 if I ever get it) and see glaring flaws in similar aspects of other action games. Non-RPG progression based action/hack 'n' slash games also typically base their design around the tools you can acquire, not on the stats so it eliminates the grind most of the time. I go back to PSO2 and see Ultimate Quest and go "Oh yeah, should probably reach 70 first (I had all classes at 67-68 when I left), oh yeah I should probably upgrade my weapons, oh yeah I should probably upgrade my units, oh ye- okay I don't really care anymore." I'm making an upfront investment in Menu Star Online to even achieve the gear I need for this stuff. It's not particularly hard, but it's time I don't care to spend just to play a decent-at-best online action game with friends. Nothing against the game in its own right (I totally get how you and others are still hooked because I used to be), I'm just very apathetic towards it and have been for months.

Well all that, and my internet has been going in and out like crazy so there's that too. I like my team so that's like the one factor I have going for PSO2.

this post got a lil longer than expected
