At first I was totally against those models. I felt they were too strange and removed from what I was used to seeing, and then I gave it some thought and said to myself, "you know what? this is precisely what I would expect an extraterrestrial that's not of this world to look like." They're strange and unfamiliar to us and that's partly what makes them check out as space animals. At least imo.
True. I guess the only problem I really have with them is their heights. Falco too tall, Fox not tall enough, etc. That and, well, Peppy Lennon still isn't something I'm a fan of...

Yeah, it'd be awesome to implement Slippy's "Mechanic" role a bit further and allow for customization for all vehicles operated by Star Fox. So many possibilities, and Slippy as a character would probably earn a lot of brownie points for fans of Star Fox.

Another thing I'd like to see is for them to allow us to play as other characters during the main story, instead of just Fox. This way, people could get the perspectives of all Star Fox members instead of a Fox-only perspective.

God, I'd love to play as Falco (my favorite video game character although I've never even played a Star Fox game lol.)
Well, I'm definitely still 'startled' by the Event Horizon renders...

Well...

That and the lack of DLC fighter news in Smash. So, yeah, I guess so, haha.
Brighter days are coming. Hold on to hope. We're due for a character update. I said it would be somewhere past October, but you never know.

What aren't you doing? Do that.
Jokes on you good sir, I'm doing everything I could possibly be doing right now simultaneously

*AHEM* ANYWAYS

Back on topic, this might be an odd thing to ask, but say foot missions were present in a new Star Fox game, do you think it'd be interesting if they actually tried to incorporate some of Fox and Falcos smash moves into the game? Like say you could use the sideways b attack to dash past enemies quickly, or use the deflector shield to, well, deflect attacks.

That could be cool. And no, you can't possibly be doing everything, since you cannot breath and hold your breath at the same time. You sir, are a poser.

Bruh. After a 6-Hour Star Fox Assault session, and the fact that I'm exhausted. I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept. Regardless, that'd be sick. Now, imagine Assault's multiplayer with Splatoon-esque controls, and a melee system based off Smash Bros.

It's too late for me to be thinking this deep.

Okayy, back onto this then. You can't exactly prove that I'm not breathing and holding my breath at the same time, good sir, for I could be a human fish for all you know. Holding my breath with my gills and breathing through my mouth.

That would be pretty awesome. Assuming it could be pulled off without just being all over the place. And I feel you bro, it's 5am here and here I am talking about human fish.

I wish the other members of team Star Fox were playable in a way that was easy and seamless, like say, instead of playing the whole mission as one character you are able to switch between each member in the game-play. Say you are Fox and Slippy is being attacked, if you are on the other side of the map you can instead either switch, with a button press or something, to Slippy and deal with them or switch to a closer Team Mate like Falco and take out the enemies that way.

Like, Star Fox has so much potential such as On-Foot mission like we saw during Assault and other kinds like Shealth missions, escort missions Ugh Escort missions... , Awing Customization for not just Fox but all members of Star Fox, switching between the team members in like a Party system like Kingdom Hearts of other JRPGs (That way if people want they can just ditch Krystal for Peppey or whatever) Being able to use the Great Fox during Space battles, and work on an actual good story.

But sadly Nintendo doesn't see it like that and instead wants to keep things easier and more in the past.

Yes please don't let the character switching be buggy or gimmicky like Sonic Boom.

...

Too soon?

I've never played Sonic Boom so I wouldn't know how bad the switching was. But I'm guessing it was buggy because the characters weren't in the same area? In the case of Star Fox all the characters are in the same area and the AI for the characters seems to work fine for Slippy, Falco and Krystal during Assault so I don't see it messing up to hard compared to Sonic. And did you really compare Sonic, a game series that has benn messing up way to hard and way to much, to Star Fox that really hasn't messed up at all? Lol

It wasn't a serious comparison. I should have added /s at the end.

It'd also be pretty cool if each member had something unique about them where you'd need to temporarily switch to them in order to proceed through the stage. Say, I don't know, there's some kind of locked door with a code and only Slippy's technical wizardry could hack past it, or in a stealth mission, Krystal could easily use her telepathic powers to sense enemies and sneak past them, as well as guiding the other members of the team this way.

It really is a damn shame. If Assault proved anything, it's how flexible the series can be and how much potential lays behind it.

Actually I heard online that the person who datamined on Smash 4 on the 3DS and who found the Ryu and Roy files in there just datamined a little while back probably in the latest version of the game that from the 2 empty slots(from the Smash website) there that we should expect another character to make it into the roster before October(which is the month when the ballot ends). If that's the case, then it shouldn't be long till we find out who the next character is going to be between now and somewhere in September. If that happens, my guess is that it's going to be a veteran and what other veteran is none other than Wolf(who is the most likely of the veterans that fans do care about that want to see come back). Have any of you guys heard about this as of lately if it's true or not? Just wanted to make sure.

Speaking of that, I found another Krystal pic posted recently online you guys should see

I just read that whole string of game ideas you guys made up and now I just got really depressed :(

It's sad when the fans can come up with better ideas than the actual developers.

I think ultimately the reason Zero is taking the direction that it is is mainly down to the fact they're trying to please all the 64 Elitists. Fingers crossed that a few years down the line we'll actually get a Star Fox game with something that at least resembles some of these ideas. It'd definitely be worth them getting a company on board who has experience with these shooter type games to help them too, though I'd be pretty satisfied if Namco came back to give it another shot.

I'd rather have the focus on a Star Fox game to be more on space exploration and dog fights than shooting.

Well I agree, I'd still want dogfights to be a big part of it as well, but I just think it'd benefit from both styles of gameplay. Variety is always a good thing and it gives all the more freedom to the gameplay. That's what I think, anyways. I'd of course also prefer it so you could go either or, however. For example during a multiplayer match you could choose to keep it strictly dogfights if that's the players preference.

As i've said, i'm probably going to send my input to Nintendo if the game ends up being another failure as Star Fox 64 3D was. I dont know if there's anywhere else I can see total sales, but according to that vgchartz place, the game didnt even hit the million mark and that came out four years ago. I've seen the argument that Command was the reason it didnt sell well because it supposedly gave it a bad reputation after what it did and that they advertised it poorly, but I think that's a bit of a lie because i've said before that the genre the series represents died off long ago like all there other games like it did, and that people only know the series just by Fox being in Smash. Some elitists say otherwise, but really it's not relevant anymore, Star Fox had the perfect chance to make its return on the Wii as there were a good number of rail shooters on there before it ended, but it was held off for the WiiU for gimmicky reasons, and part of me feels it will ultimately backfire for that reason on top of it being another 64.

Unfortunately I don't see Zero selling well even if it does exceed expectations. Granted it'll sell better if it gets decent reviews, but with the downward spiral the Wii U has went on, the only games it's going to sell to a decent standard are the ones with "Mario" in the title.

All I know about it is that the last datamining effort wasn't able to locate any files for possible newcomers. I think another veteran is still in the cards. To echo your sentiments, it would probably be Wolf. Newcomers? I have no clue. Who do you think will be in the next wave?

This is what they found in the last datamine
