Prejudices aside, if a few characters need to be cut who will they be?

Oh, great. It's another "this character hasn't been confirmed so that means they're cut" person. Maybe if we ignore them, they'll go away.
Lol clearly you misunderstood my blatant sarcasm. I was mimicking one of those people xD Didn't think I'd get a serious reply.

I'd still say Snake is iffy simply because we don't know what Kojima thinks.
He asked Sakurai to put him in Melee, but it was too far along. Sakurai purposely went back to Kojima to see about adding Snake in Brawl, and we know how that ended up. I just can't see why either one of them would not want him in, I mean, Kojima loses nothing, and Sakurai had to fight Nintendo to do it in Brawl anyway.

:snake::wolf::rob: Oh really?

I never said he wasn't a major pary of Nintendo history. I just think that it doesn't give him the right to be a rep. I think he could fit right in to being an Assist Trophy. Also, don't forget that R.O.B. isn't a game character. Sakurai said he's stepping it up, so R.O.B. probably won't make the cut.

Second, Wolf isn't a full clone. I think the only (almost) full clone is Dr. Mario. But Wolf is still a pretty big clone of F & F (Fox and Falco). Also, are you being sarcastic with Krystal? Because *Flame Shield Deployed* Ridley is also on my custom roster.

Finally, I'm not going to converse about Snake, because no-one can ever change the other person's side.

Sorry, I didn't realise I tri-posted.
Sakurai said that no one has been cut so far either, and that he hates cuts. R.O.B. isn't going anywhere.

So why would you want to get rid of Wolf then? Why on earth do you think I'm being sarcastic with Krystal? King K. Rool, Ridley, Krystal. Those are my top three.

Sure you might not like Snake, but that doesn't change the fact that he's there.

Kojima publicly stated he didn't want MGS on 'that failure of a counsel' or something didn't he?

He never said such a thing, he said he wanted to take full advantage of the gamepad when he makes a game for it, which is why MGSV isn't just being ported over.

We'll eventually see a full Kojima game for the Wii U, maybe even MGS.

I didn't blatantly say that those three are cut. I said they seem likely to be cut. Those three are some of my tops too.

I really don't understand the mentality that ROB will be cut at all. If it's anything, it's people disliking him, since there's not even any "precedent" for characters like him being cut.

I would say:
1: Lucas - Just didn't bring anything unique to the table.
2: Wolf - He has a good chance of being in, but if time was a factor I wouldn't be surprised seeing him cut.
3: Ike - As much as I like him, a new FE rep would likely be in. But I bet Ike makes it back, he was like #7 most requested to return on a poll in that CoroCoro Japanese magazine.

Who said he only makes 2 characters every month?
Exactly, thats why I suspect theres an awesome lot of stuff he's saving for the release!
Man I cant wait for E3...

Anyway, back on the topic,
I can't see Sakurai bringing back the falco and wolf that we know.
Theres alot of work going into making each character's moveset super unique.
I expect a total overhaul of their moveset.
I wouldn't really mind if they were alternate costumes for fox.
Actually, there normal attacks made them each play quite differently from Fox in brawl, but who expected Sakurai to change falcos reflector to a mid range attack? I can't even make a guess on how their specials will be changed in smash 4...
If they needed to be cut because the roster size was becoming ridiculous to manage I'd understand.

I think your hoping for a bit to much there pal, just from the characters weve already seen only a few have seen some decent changes. Fox himself looks unchanged, and we know toon link isnt a bit different, so i wouldnt get your expectations too high for falco or wolf to boast any huge changes.

Personally I think Sakurai will confirm Wolf or Ike just to mess with people.

Sad thing that's not till 4 months

And for cuts

:ike::snake::wolf::lucas: :pt:

Ike:popular in fire emblem but he was not in brawl

Snake: probably brawl is the only one he's going to be in hes only alive if Kojima wants him in again

Wolf: probably going to be fine but only because falco has ben in both brawl and melee more than 1 confirm in the series = lock for rosters threw whole series

Lucas:same as ike they seem to prefer ness over lucas

Pokemon trainers:same as wolf he probably be fine but could get replace but another gen trainer or a different pokemon (not mewtwo) probably gore ninja or genesect if another pokemon replaces pokemon trainer

Snake, Wolf, Ike and Lucas, but mainly Snake.

I can't see Jigglypuff (one of the originals) or Pokémon Trainer (Charizard is too popular) being cut.

The only person I can see feasibly being cut is Snake, and that's only because we don't know the terms of the contract that got him into Brawl.

I'm pretty sure that, after Lucario's reveal, we're not going to get any cuts (barring Snake, who I hope is still in).

I'd add Ike to that list as Intelligent Systems has at least some of the say on Fire Emblem characters, they got Roy in after all.

Sakurai is a big fan of the series, and Roy got in because Sakurai wanted somebody to make a clone out of. He saw the new game and thought it'd be good advertising.

Lying about my country.
I'm 100% positively and fully expecting every character who made it from Melee to Brawl to return, and will be super surprised if that's not the case.

Also, I see him being mentioned every time there's talk about cuts, so I'm gonna say that I really don't see Ike getting cut.

He's not like Roy, added to advertise a random sequel to a japan-only game, he's the main character of the game that basically popularized Fire Emblem outside of Japan, and has starred in two FE games. At this point, seeing how ever since the Gamecube there's been Fire Emblem games for every console released worldwide, I'd say the franchise has become quite relevant to Nintendo, so I can definitely see there being three Fire Emblem characters, meaning Marth, Ike, and a newcomer, probably from Awakening.

*ahem* The series nearly died. Awakening did alot, but not everybody is convinced it can pull a miracle twice. And Awakening had to pull out all the stops and went well beyond the average budget for a FE game. Can they really do that again? FE may not be important in Nintendo's eyes.

am I the only one that thinks FE don't need another rep.
I don't think so personally, mainly because FE still ongoing, unlike star fox (which somehow has 3 reps), and it has a lot more character potential than most people think.

Kojima publicly stated he didn't want MGS on 'that failure of a counsel' or something didn't he?
Kojima recently had an interview with a question about snake in sm4sh, he was very Kojima with his answer, but all that can be gleamed from it for sure is that he still fully supports seeing snake in smash. Also, here is a statement from Kojima regarding not seeing mgsv on wii u.

I think i've already mentioned this, but i would not like to see any cuts from the brawl cast, as unlike melee, all characters were unique and none of them really should be "cut". I guess i share the same opinion with Sakurai, who said himself that he isn't cutting players until forced to.

My Opinions. I've based these on what I believe character priority to be.

No Way Are These Guys Leaving (Tier 1)
:yoshi2::falcon::popo::gw::sheik::ness2:

Slightly More Likely To Leave Than The Above Group (Tier 2)
:metaknight::rob::wario::snake::pt::charizard::squirtle::ivysaur::zerosuitsamus:

Some Middle Group Group (Tier 3)
:falco::ganondorf::jigglypuff::mewtwopm:

If There Are Cuts, They Will Be From This Group (Tier 4)
:ike::lucas::wolf::drmario::roypm:

Not Coming Back (Tier 5)
:younglinkmelee::pichumelee:

I already linked an article about this, not my fault you can't click a link.
Also, Kojima has stated he doesn't care about console wars, so there's no reason to cut snake.

Yes there is, Nintendo cares about said console wars and Snake almost never shows up on Nintendo hardware. The Twin Snakes was huge and was just 2 years old when Snake was revealed for Brawl at E3 2006. Since then we've gotten a single port of Snake Eater for 3DS... Here's what Kojima just said:

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/03/14/kojima-open-to-snake-returning-in-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u

"I'm not working on that game so I don't know, but I don't think that's likely," said Kojima. "Well, if Mr. Sakurai is watching this, please use Snake."
He's gone.

Kojima also said that he's going to stop working on mgs after mgs2 and mgs4 with the same smile on his face as during that interview.
Conclusions have already been drawn about the interview and you obviously missed them all.
Oh, and if Nintendo really cared about console wars that much, Snake would not have been in brawl.

.....I...........just stop. That's like arguing that aliens live below Rio...can't be disproved but it is the ramblings of a lunatic.

You're the one who missed the conclusions drawn, that Sakurai and Kojima haven't talked about Snake in the new Smash, which at this point would be one thing.

I just explained how TTS probably helped Kojima's cause for Brawl, and what good did that do?
