It has to be either the yellow rat's or ESAM's consistency issues, but i'm guessing the former.

It could be both. Playing an upper-mid tier, being spread thin between multiple games, plus bad tourney scheduling can add up.

EDIT: The scheduling john is actually kind of legit...

Finally had time to watch the stream, and just when I got on, I watched ESAM lose. RIP.

I'm a little sad he missed that QAC on the top platform. He needed an angle that was more down than right. The indents in a GC controller make it kinda difficult to get those angles though, so he probably was better off it he didn't go for it.

MVD did a nice job of hitting K9 just as he let go of his shield early in the match. Then K9 got so many good reads. Props to him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls out his Meta Knight for that match up since it's still in his favor.

: is an even matchup from my experience. Luma is just never safe when Mewtwo is around. All it takes is a few hits to rip Luma away from Rosa's side and lead him to his death. Also, Mewtwo's setups and kill moves work perfectly on Rosa.

Nope. It wasn't streamed. Also fairly certain that is Mr. II's best placing so far, because he struggles to place that high in Japanese regionals

My favorite part of the remaining Top 16 is that you can't even trust the Projected Version of the bracket.
Tons of hype games are waiting and the Losers bracket is going to be INTENSE.

I think Toon Link has cemented status as a high tier character by now.

Sad iStudying couldn't go further but 25th is still pretty good. Nice results from Marth and Yoshi as well and Megaman and Mewtwo are doing really strong showings

NAKAT was using Ness for earlier on, so 13 characters at least. NAKAT was also using some Pika in Doubles, so if he beats ESAM, we could see that. Aba was using MK in Doubles and has a good matchup with Rosa, so we could see him come out to make 14.

cloud beats sonic, so tweek has the best possible bracket for him winning the tourney possible. I predict 1st, w/ no set drops. My guess.

Mewtwo and Toon Link weren't considered consensus high tiers before now. Tink was borderline high, and Mewtwo's position in light of his buffs was uncertain.
