Pokemon that need evolutions/pre-evolutions

Glad this thread caught on. Interesting disscussion guys.

I personally don't like the idea of combining the Nidorans. As Mood4food said, having those two as seperate Pokemon has pretty much grown on all of us, and I think many people would be upset if Game Freak decided to merge them into 1 Nidoran.

Not even if the male forms still looked like Nidoran-M, and the females, like Nidoran-F? Is it an aesthetic problem, or a conditional problem? I'm curious.

how do you explain where this new random pokemon comes from or why nidoran-M and nidoran-f are the same spot in the pokedex

it's programmed in the pokedex as a certain number, so if you create a new pokemon for that spot, why couldn't you catch it in first gen?

I simply think the fact that the two Pokemon have different base stats/movepools is enough justification for keeping them seperated.

I don't think they were ever meant to be one.

Giving Pokemon Evos/pre-evos is completely different than completely changing the entire Dex.

I would love a Ghost-type Eevee evolution, so long as it looks cool/cute. How about giving Aerodactyl an evolution/pre-evolution? Or Absol? They'd have to be totally kick***, because they're cool Pokemon anyway, but an awesome evolution would be the icing on the cake.

I actually think that some Pokémon, such as Relicanth and Tropius, ought to remain single Pokémon. Not because I dislike them, quite the opposite in fact, but because I feel it would disrupt their uniqueness if they evolved. Dunsparce is another one.

Stantler's on the border there, for me.

Girafarig was so odd in the first place I'm not sure whether it should remain as-is or get an evolution so it's more useful. Its typing is certainly interesting.

I'm not sure about Ledian and Ariados.... I feel like they fit their roles just fine as average/below-average bug Pokemon (think Butterfree and Beedrill).

All I'm saying is that compared to all of the other Pokemon that need evolutions, I just don't think Ledian or Ariados are as deserving as a lot of others are.

And Zangoose and Sharpedo. And Dunsparce. And Grumpig. And Seviper and Qwilfish.

Dunsparce sucks. Keep him that way!

If Zangoose got an evolution, then Seviper would need one too, and vice versa.

Grumpig? Ehhhh I'm not feeling that idea.

I think Kangaskhan, Pinsir, Tauros, and Lapras (questionable) on that list deserve an evolution, as well as Mr. Mime and Jynx. The other members of that Pokemon "line" all got evolutions during 4th Gen., and Seadra even got Kingdra in 2nd. Magmortar, Electivire, Rhyperior, Tangrowth all stemmed out in 4th Gen.

really need evolutions, i can't really picture an evo for the other pokes (and most of the other pokes have good base stats or just look like final forms

That's not necessarily true. Look at Plusle and Minun. They're in the same boat as Pachirisu..

We need a zebra Pokemon compliment to Girafarig. Normal / Dark would be the most obvious typing, and makes sense.

Oh and on a side note. As weird as it is, Quilfish is actually spelled Qwilfish. I don't get the spelling choice but that's all up to Game Freak I guess.

@Tery: A Luvdisc evolution would be awesome. You could double all its stats except speed, and bam, you've got yourself a healthy UU or something.

Well, for starters Hustle is quick interesting with Aerial Ace, which also gets STAB. Ice Shard kinda works with Hustle as well. But I agree overall it's a poor Pokemon.

Unless you're only labeling Delibird as gimmicky through Present, which nobody uses anyways.

Delibird is a TM slave: One of the only pokemon that must learn all of its moves though other sources such as Tutors or TMs. An interesting idea but a bad poke because of it.

I can't wait to see which Pokemon in this list end up getting evo's in gen. 5, because I feel like quite a few of them have a lot of potential of becoming really popular/usable Pokemon, as opposed to how they are now. *looking at Sableye and Qwilfish*

How well does Giratina do as a wall? I forget which forme is the more defensive, since I'm not that remembering of the metagame.

As cool as it would be to see Skarmory get an evolution, I think it should get a pre-evolution. Since as others have stated, it's basically the physically defensive counterpart to Mantine from 2nd Gen.

I agree that the pokemon in the OP do need a pre-evo or an evo but as for pokemon that already have on or the other, I think Electrode might get an evolution in 5th gen. I've always seen Magneton as Electrode's opposite (even though both aren't game exclusives like Mawile & Sableye in Ruby & Sapphire respectively).

Other pokemon I could possibly be getting an evo are Sandslash & Arbok. To me, they have lost their luster and it may be time for an upgrade (as long it isn't as bad as Electivire, Rhyperior & other unwanted 4th gen freaks).

Sandslash definitely needs an evolution!

I mean, look at that thing. It's got a nice color scheme and a cool design. I think a streamlined weasel-type evo would go good with it, instead of being bulky like the other evolutions turned out.
