Yeah, I think Zinc is right, that's a Drifloon in the Flying stage:

If so, this confirms 4th gen Pokémon will appear in the game :)

I hope they play a remix of the Little Cup (matches 1-3) on this stage.

What? I liked that song

I like how the screen in the background is a see-through. The detail on the stage is beautiful. I enjoy looking at the buildings in the background and the lights flashing. All so awesome.

I also like how the terrain changes affect the gameplay now.

The flying stage might be a bit bothersome, and the electricity stage can be the ultimate b*tch if not done right. But the ground stage is awesome, and the ice stage will probably be humorous. Overall, pretty cool, but not what I was expecting.

Really good choices. I hated the first Pokemon stage but this one looks like alot of fun. But now that someone mentioned it, I would love to see Ghost and Psychic stages done as well.

Love the Pokemon 2 stage. Awesome work on that, and it looks really done up. and the fact that's he's calling this Pokemon Stadium 2. Could hint for a Original Pokemon Melee stage.

Imagine the possibilities! A Drowzee comes in, and rains down Hypnosis - imagine that in a timed match. Or Alakazam bends its spoons and the screen flips upside down - as if your TV is broken. 0_o

This is the best update so far. Pokemon Stadium is the best stage ever.

There are what? 17 pokemon types. So if they brought the old stage back, that would be five types right there (rock, water, grass, fire, normal). Then there is the new stage (Pokemon 2) that offers four other types (electricity, ice, ground, and flying). So 9 total. 8 more needed which would be two more additonal arenas.

Would this be worth it? Or would it be too much pokemon and a waste of development time?

ssn 1 ftw! But yeah I like this stage. the flying one is gonna be fun. an aerial match to the extreme. I imagine it will be like the low gravity on melee single player. electric could be annoying depending on what they do. characters getting shocked every 3 seconds would piss me off.

I'm a total pokemaniac. So this and Pokemon Trainer have two of the best updates thus far. I only hope that Jigglypuff, Mewtwo and Lucario/Blaziken/Meowth/ other new pokemon are revealed soon as well.

I love the pokemon in the background. I would love if Cubone threw bones at you and Dugtrio Randomly popped up and hurt you. Skarmory should use steal wing. I think there is an ice pokemon on the Ice stage, next to Pikachu and Kirby, you can see it's shadow. Possibly Seel or Sealeo.

I am thinking the Electric stage would be a power plant type stage (They always have Power plants in the RPGs). There are Magnemite and Magneton that float around. Also an electrode comes out once in a while and explodes. Or If Electivire was in the stage that'd be awesome.

If the pokemon are just in the background and don't attack, that would be alright too.

WOW I didn't even notice the Drifloon until I looked back at the third post. It seems so obvious now..

Cool looking stage, Ice sounds very annoying, flying sounds kind of neat, good place to grab some upair KOs anyone?

cant go wrong with pokemon stadium. I dont see this level being banned at all, no reason for it.

I'd like to see the Electric stage with a couple lightning rods set ups shooting electricity around to makes things hectic. Maby there will be a bonus for using Pikachu in such a stage? Since the stage changes never lasted long that good give Pika a lil boost in playability.

Maby if weapons are on Pikachu could get an electrical charge between two lightning rods and get his Volt tackle which would make for some fun matches.

I'd aslo like to see the other pokemon attack you every now and again for a hazard, or even something like this:

Crowd throws a pokeball on the stage, the pokeball opens and the pokemon attacks like a normal weapon, but this one will not have an owner imune to it.

That would be another one I'd like to see if weapons were on, since if they were off you really don't need a lugia comming out and owning you in a tourny match.

As far returning stages go, I still think we are gonna see old stages comming back, but more of them will be remodeled instead. Probably gonna bring back the more popular stages and hopefull we see the N64 Saffron City stage, that would be great.

Thanks to this update, I'm very confused

Will be 4 gen pokes?

There are 1 Gen (Cubone and Dugtrio) there... But there's also a 4 gen city! (valley windworks)

I don't know... kind of rare... But the stage is awesome, I wonder if the pokes behind will do something?

The one transformation we don’t see is electric, and I’m hoping that it’s because Pichu is standing in the background somewhere, and Sakurai just wasn’t ready to part with him like that yet. Or maybe there’s an Electabuzz, and that would just be too awesome to reveal now. Either way, here’s hoping.
I'm hoping that Plusle and Minum also appears in the background! That'd make my day! ^_^ Poor Cubone got put in the background. :(

Anyways, I wonder if the Pokemon attack?

No Internet?!?
"All represent new types in the Pokémon universe, and Sakurai shows us three of the four, starting with ice."

None of those 4 are new types, they've all been there since the first gen, the only new types added were Dark and Steel, just to even things out, in the second gen.

That's Kirby's shadow. Look at the direction Pikachu's shadow is going, and compare the shape of the shadow to Kirby with his running legs.
the only thing about that is it really doesnt look like it though...Im not disagreeing with u...Im just saying but maybe its the effect of the stage

Looks nice, definitely one of my favorite stages. I'm wondering how the air level will affect peoples recoveries off of the stage.

I think he meant four new types *on the poke stage*...

I wonder if the original Poke Stadium will be in Brawl... making it two Poke Stadiums...

Why is nobody commenting on the tramampolines?! This is AWESOME! Much cooler than just having lower gravity or fans that blow you upward.
I really don't think those are trampolines. I think they're just metal grates. You can see what looks like fan machinery underneath them. I could be wrong though.

Does anyone else think that isn't Skarmory? It looks like it has like 6 wings. IMO Skarm would fit in better with a Steel stage anyway. Also "drifbloom" is a little blob, it could be anything.

Because it's spelled trampolines, not either of the ways you first spelled it, and that's not what they are. You can even see air currents blowing up from them; they're metal grates covering fans.

Skarmory's wings do split into multiple "blades" when spread. It's a Skarmory.

This stage excites me to see just how advanced they made aerial combat in this game.

I think it is a Drifloon because you can even see the two yellow dangly things underneath it :) But that's just me.

And yes, the one in the foreground is Skarmory; it looks like that when it flies in Stadium. The red parts on its wings move apart and flutter slightly.

Edited to rephrase, I worded this really badly!

Thank you, Pluvia. If someone is still convinced that that is a Drifloon, give us a screenshot circling where it is. Because that is 100% a Skarmory.

Posted earlier in the thread by DragonRider.

Admittedly it's not very clear in the normal screen, but it does look like it when zoomed in an awful lot.

This:

Looks NOTHING LIKE, this:
Yes, that's Skarmory. But Drifloon can be seen as well. Look into the far background, to the upper right of Skarmory. See that strange orb thing with something yellow dangling down? Zoom in. That looks like Drifloon to me...

EDIT: Darn, LukeFonFabre beat me to it!

Yeah, I wasn't talking about the one in the foreground - that's clearly Skarmory, lol! Sorry if that was unclear.
