Pretty much every Sony console ever made has been a good choice. Granted, they really ****ed up with the PS3's early days but quickly got their act together and really made the console something worthwhile.

Really?

Sony's always been the console dishing out a non-gaming kick that made it the default best console, PS2 with DVD and PS1 with CD's. And a huge aspect of PS4 is the blu-ray, entertainment factor, and other not necessarily gaming related features.

You may buy the console that you think has the best games, but the best console to the majority of consumers will sell the most. It's happened every time.

Well sure the PS4 is good at multitasking but first and foremost it's a gaming machine that will get the best third-party support after they assure a larger userbase over the train wreck Xbox One and relatively underpowered Wii U.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the Wii U and I'll support it for games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. 4 but if I could only afford one console going forward it would probably be the PS4.

I'd probably pick up a Wii U, simply because I can't get Zelda, Fire Emblem, Metroid or any Nintendo local-multiplayer goodness on a Sony console. Honestly, if FFXV wasn't PS4/Xbone exclusive and I could get it on Wii U I would only buy a Wii U.

But then again, I'm a sucker for the PS brand.

The PS4 looks like it will be a great console to have in the future, but it doesn't have any games I want yet, and not much upcoming either. Infamous will be fun, but I can wait, and the game that would have been a system seller for me, Guilty Gear Xrd, will be on the PS3 as well. The Wii U has a better lineup for me right now, and for the next year, so I'm starting with it.

I could never have just one console though, it's impossible to cover everything I want with only one system. The Nintendo + Sony combo has been amazing for the past two gens, and it looks like it's the right choice again for me.

During the 5th generation I had both a Nintendo 64 and Playstation.

In the 6th gen I went with the Dreamcast, PS2 and Xbox. I got a GameCube much later when the console was no longer manufactured.

7th gen it was Xbox 360 because I liked Halo so much and the Wii because of Mario Kart Wii. I later warmed up to Motion Control games like Wii Sports because of the fun shared playing them with family and friends. Me and my lady just played Wii Sports Resort last night.

8th Generation it's gonna be PS4 for third-party titles and HD content like movies and the Wii U for Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. 4. If Nintendo puts out a quality F-Zero sequel than that will simply be icing on the cake.

You couldn't give me an Xbox One for free after the way Microsoft helped the NSA subvert the U.S. Constitution to spy on innocent citizens not even suspected of terrorism. The Xbox One with its Kinect spycam is dead to me and I hope it fails miserably.

I'm just going to say this right here, technically speaking there is nowhere in the US constitution that stops government surveillance. The closest thing that I can think of that stops that is the forth amendment, which states that police and government officials must have a warrant and probable cause for a search and seizure.

On the offhand, even if there was a part of the constitution that specifically stated that the government cannot spy on its citizens that doesn't mean that MS has to listen to it. As a corporation, that can get away with nearly anything as long as you legally agree to it. Hell, I signed up for some cheap car insurance but I have to have a device in my car that tells the company exactly where I go, how fast I go, how quickly I brake and how long I'm driving for.

Anyone getting FFXIV? I'm thinking about getting a PS4 for my birthday in April along with a "free" copy of the PS4 version of that game (I just got the PS3 game). Crazy that I'd get a PS4 for that game but I think it is a good time to get it. Plus, Destiny is coming out soon so I'll be prepared for that. Even though that's way out into September.

Getting PS+ with PS4 when I don't have a PS3 or Vita (and probably not getting one period at this point) was a bad idea. I think I'll survive without online multi if I don't buy another year. FFXV and other games I'm looking forward to won't have it mandatory. I still can't fathom that my subscription gives me indie games (just no interest) and a feature that should be universally free. Selection might improve but now that they've got most people on the hook for online multi I doubt it.

You play 1v1 or 2v2 and fight over control of the ball. Score points by letting the ball ring-out on your side of the field. Lose a point for falling out yourself. It's super deep. My brother and I have been playing it for a couple of hundred hours and still enjoy playing it.

Valkyria Chronicles isn't really cheap these days. It tends to run for around $25-$30.

Aside from that, there's always the Uncharted games. You can get all three for under $20 each.

PSN is a treasure trove. You can get PS2 and PS3 games that run for $30+ for dirt cheap.

Oh no no no, I already own Valkyria, I actually bought it for $15. I'll look into Uncharted, though. The mom and pop store nearby sells all three Uncharted games for like $10 each, too.

I have a PS3, which I barely even play these days. There is no point for me to get a PS4 because I barely play video games anymore. I'm not selling my PS3, because I might still occasionally play it sometimes. Maybe once or twice a week. I do all my gaming on the PC, anyways. And when I'm not gaming, I just post on forums. Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3 and Uncharted 4 though...I want to play those games. Had none of them been delayed to 2015 I would probably be saving up for a PS4 though, which is a mixed bag, I'm glad I have the Wii U now, I'm out of Xbox360 games I want to play and the PS3 is in the living room

I've been waiting on picking up a PS4 primarily because the two games I want to play the most, Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3, aren't coming out for a long while. Not to mentioned that MGS5 Phantom Pain isn't going to be coming out until around then, and god only knows when Uncharted 4 will see the light of day.

No reason to rush, really. Hell, I haven't even picked up a Wuu yet. I've mostly just been playing all of the new stuff that comes out with my friend on his. Although once Smash 4 comes out I'll likely end up picking one up, primarily for that and Hyrule Warriors plus whatever Nintendo goodness comes out along the way.

And SMT x Fire Emblem. Assuming we ever get an update on that at all.

I picked up a PS4 late last year, and it has been really fun. I mostly bought it for games that won't be out for awhile, like Kingdom Hearts 3, Uncharted 4, new God of war.

That being said, It does have a couple of faults imo. Like the inability to watch movies offline, and and the inability to play already downloaded games offline.

I guess it's a way of the times were in, but it would still be nice.
My Wii U plays downloaded games offline though.

Playstation Network got attacked again. This is why paying for the service on PS4 is complete bull****. **** Playstation Network, the only thing it has over the other networks is free party service even if you don't pay for it. Also, what kind of loser would pay $50 a year to get some free ****ty games and play their games Online while meanwhile their service is still unstable as ****. Not to mention most of the multiplayer games suffer from "Early System" disorder, a disorder where most games made in the systems life ****ing suck.

Long story short, until Sony gets their god damn **** together, don't pay for the service on PS4, Xbox Live may be more of a ripoff, but it's infinitely more stable. I'm not trying to troll, but really, why pay for something where our ****ing credit card information is at risk. PSN has been attacked many times, risking the information every single time. DON'T ****ING PAY FOR IT UNTIL THEY GET THEIR **** TOGETHER!

I use to be alot worse you know, thanks to therapy I'm alot less angry then I was. I have good reason to be angry about this, Sony's PSN sucks balls, it's ****ed up. It's worse then anything that's happened on XBL, though nowhere near as bad as the old "Nintendo Wi-Fi" service on DS and Wii.

Added Bonus: PSN does have better sales then Xbox Live and eShop though, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles was worth $10 at one point, the definitive version of those two games!
