You'd need to get to Victoria coach station but this is by FAR the cheapest mode of travel available.

hmmmmm imo tamoo I think you're a good player but there are a lot of rly good players in the UK so whilst I think being confident is all well and good, I wouldn't think top 4 is realistic.

On a completely unrelated note, I hope duncan will place well for once!! :(

Ever since I complained about being bracket gayed at every tournament, the tides have changed for me :)

I think that everyone should complain, it gets you better brackets

Dizard: Yeah, there will be housing

I like this trashtalk cause it makes you guys wanna get better :)

&what joe? I had the ****test bracket ever in London, I had chrisboi --> prof --> frostbyte --> prof with a few people like deathgazer and others in between, my 3rd round of winners bracket was prof. Not really fair seeing as I was destined to come 3rd, frost went straight out of winners to play me, then out for 5th. I worked through losers which was stuuupid.

Aren't brackets calculated according to the guys who came first and second in their respective pools?

I.e. if you came first you'd play a guy who came second in another pool first.
And generally you space the good players out across the bracket (much like you do in pools with seeds, for exactly the same reason).

Right? Lol.

Hugo: On condition that neither Jam or Edwin make it, cos Ive already stated I don't think I'll make it if they come lol.
If 90% of the planned attendance dont make it including the top names I'll bet I get top 4.

i would like to point out what is a normal bracket.

going through top= easy -> hard -> easy -> hard -> harder -> Fuzzy

going through second= -> hard -> easy -> easy -> hard -> harder -> Pro

and thats if your lucky enough to have 2 easy matches. having a 'hard' time in brackets is the freaking point. If it was easy youd be Fuzzy.

and I worked for it, so don't think it takes the piss lol. It took a while for me to get to how good I am now and even prof is catching up..I still have to improve to make sure I dont lose my spot

there's a good learning curve, once you reach the high level part the game becomes so fun

I really enjoy playing prof + va + europeans cause the game is mad deep when both players are high level

thats really not right. baxon got knocked into the losers bracket early in holland and you had hard hard....so....no that's total crap. Plus tamoo had it like easy easy easy easy hard easy easy > vanity angel. so :/

exactly. A lot of the time I rly like being able to play better players in tournament matches because you're tested so much more + you learn a lot + it forces you to play you're best.

Well I need to prove myself in the up and comming tourneys, A lot of people think I get really lucky with ice climbers, they believe I just let nana take over and do the work for me... I do need to show how good I am. I would like to play people Ive either never played or haven't played in a long time ie bullet bill, VA, tamoo etc J03 I didnt get to play you because I had business to attend to that day.

if baxon hadnt lost and i advanced through to the next round would it have made a difference?

brackets get messed when someone loses to someone they shouldnt. but you REALLY cant account for that. 'i got someone too hard for me in a tourney and lost' what a BS attitude to have rofl. i aint arsed about coming 13th, 9th, 7th ir 5th or w/e. im in it to win it, why else would i go to a tourney.

sometimes youll get a hard bracket sometimes youll get an easier one, the idea is the tourney tests you to the max, if i didnt face fuzzy in the first round id have to face him later so it makes no difference to me when i face someone, im there to try my best to beat everyone i play.

i get you obv, its nowhere near as annoying to get a bad bracket then it is for someone worse then you to get an easy one.

Alpha: dont worry dude well deffo play on the day =).

basically I think you would be pissed if you got 13th because if I was knocked out in the first round by fuzzy then you got me, you'd be like "bracket screwed me over". There is definitely such a thing as a bad bracket and sometimes people get easier rides :/

just for the record you know you can't get top 3 and you have to aim for something below so I think a distinction for other players within 13th, 9th 7th 5th and 4th is really important :/

Tamoo: Realistically speaking I'm not going to get the better of you in brackets, so £25 says it you don't get top 4?

You shouldn't be able to complain and get better brackets.
If so that means that brackets are being fixed.

*** London Monthly brackets anyway.....
We need to start doing pools there for more games AND more legit brackets....i've been saying this for so long but people seem to not say anything until the tournament is done and then they cry about their brackets.

I'M JUST HAPPY pools are being done at this tournament.
brackets wouldnt be unfair if you were better.
loool In a way that is kinda true.

Lol if somebody actually is fixing the bracket just for me,
I did see the last London Monthly bracket being made actually, it seemed pretty legit, tho Tio kept on trying to make gay brackets.

Brackest is how j@p people say 'the most black' ;)

In pools everyone plays everyone else in a group of usually four or so and the top few go through.

Brackets is just two strikes and your out.

Pools should def become the norm though, I'm sure that there's enough time in the London monthlies.
And if there's European interest, even more reason to do pools.

For real and for those who are just about getting good at the game ¬_¬ if they get knocked out in their first rounds in brackets they can say, "at least I made it out of pools".

whats the differnce between brackest and pools?
Pools are groups of 4 to 8 people and EVERYONE plays EVERYONE in the pools to decided who are the top 4 or 2 in the pools (depending on the tournament) and these people progress on into the brackets.

This method is better because everyone gets more games and it produces a more legit bracket as only the BEST PEOPLE IN THE EVENT progress into the brackets and the pools help to decide the placement of the brackets making it more fair and no dodgy brackets being constructed.

Like at the London Monthly with no pools. I played VA in my SECOND game. WTF is that about.

Pools should def become the norm though, I'm sure that there's enough time in the London monthlies.

WE DEFINTELY HAVE ENOUGH TIME.

Do you want to know why I know why we do?

I am one of the people always rushing the tournament to get done.
When it gets to the Semi-Finals Fuzzy ALWAYSSSSS says 'Let's take a break before the big games' when I say let's just get them done.
He always takes a break and then we end up rushing. This proves we have MORE then enough tme for pools if we don't take any gay brakes like last time.

Last monthly started late cos of no extention plugs and we STILL finished on time with another one of Fuzzys gay breaks......IT'S FINAL, NEXT TOURNAMENT IS POOLS!

Yes.

Pools also help to show a more exact placement of everyone in London/UK.
Give people an easier aim which is get out of pools which helps to show an improvement rate
Gives people more games.....

Nothing is bad about it, we have the time.
Straight to brackets are annoying and gay.

People when they lose both games in the tournament they can still say they placed somewhere.

Doesn't give them much of a future target.

from what o've read pools does sound like the best way to go. but i think its a good if every one brings one set up. at least.

Despite the fact that chrisboi nearly beat me I'd say that as a player both of those matches are guarenteed wins for me. I've lost to like 4 players in tournament and I've kept that record since coming back from Canada and it's going to stay that way ^_^

edwin and VA are interchangeable depending on their personal choke lol

ive actually sorted out my choking problem, caring too much is the reason people choke.
Tell yourself you honestly dont give a **** about placement, and the choke disappears :) atleast it did for me

j03 ftw
prof ftw

No i dont lol, we played what, 4 games, and when u finally switched to a character im not good against to test my metal, you were called for a TM and kicked soooo fast

Come to mine this weekend then! =P i want to see how good you are, i want to spend the rest of my smash life playing people who obliterate me into the ground!

j03 did say u were amazing though, and i have to take his word and make my own assumption that you were by no means at 100% this tourney. Cause you were good, but not amazing. However you get the benefit of the doubt until PH2
