Here's a list of things I've learned about playing Marth. Most of these are pretty obvious and nothing new. Also, some of these might not apply to all Marths.

1. Don't get grabbed at 0%. He can 0 to 30-40% you with the cg>fsmash tipper. If you get caught in the cg, try to buffer a spot dodge and hopefully you will avoid his next grab and you can punish. You don't need to worry about this much. Most Marth's will just fsmash after the first throw.

2. When spaced correctly, fsmash and dtilt can be used to hit through Marth's fairs. Just be careful, when you're spacing fsmash/dtilt you're also spacing yourself to get hit by a tippered fsmash.

3. Don't charge smashes too often. Marth can just jump in front of you and down b.

4. Dancing blade is very annoying.

5. Hanging on the ledge vs a Marth is scary. If you're on a stage with platforms try to qac onto the platforms instead of jumping back on the stage from the ledge. I think smashville is a good stage for this MU. If you're ever stuck on a ledge, just plank till the platform moves above you and qa on it and start throwing out jolts. But you don't always want to do this.

6. You always want to recovery with QA and mix it up everytime. Avoid using SB to recover, it's too easy for Marth to edgeguard/spike you with his amazing aerials.

7. The best way to punish a missed dolphin slash is either fsmash or uair > footstool.

8. You really want to avoid being in the air. You won't beat him with any of your aerials, unless you're under him.

9. If your shield is running low, expect a shield breaker. Try to spot dodge it and punish. In my matches, I dropped my shield and took the hit instead. I wasn't even thinking of using a spotdodge. >> If you're too afraid to try and spot dodge the shield breaker then just run away and stall with jolts or plank till your shield is full again. I think I've only gotten my shield broken once out of all the matches we played.
