Who thinks Isai's Yoshi is ugly?

His combos are obviously way above anyone else, which make it fun to watch.

He just doesn't necessarily care about looking flashy in other aspects with parries and shield breaks. Also he doesn't need to put on as much pressure with crazy tech chasing since he drops less combos than me or anyone else.

^^I totally disagree with you but can't help but salivate at you imagery lol.

Yea... yea he did. It's really annoying when I get ALL MY FANS pming me on Youtube and being like, "hey, you live by Sheer right. Yea his Yoshi is SOO COOL. I try and copy how he plays."

In all honesty, I tell people to copy him when they ask me for Yoshi advice lol. He's really formed the text book Yoshi (a really good text book mind you, no disrespect xD ). Plus his playstyle is more air-tight than mine I feel.

I swear the internet doesn't even know I play Yoshi >__>

Influential in playstyle =/= influential in people playing the char in the first place

Like, I started playing Yoshi on my own accord, not because of Sheer. BUT I stole a decent number of Yoshi stuff from him. So he influenced my playstyle, but I don't play the character because of him.

lawl theres no way ness is as mainstream as yoshi. theres like two and a half ness players in the whole world.
Yes way.

We all know every noob in the world loves Ness

And even if you're talking about high level players:

A tier+ has you, Firo, and Peek with Ness as one of your best/most used chars, and me + A$ as, er, avid players.

A tier+ has me and Sheer with Yoshi as one of our best/most used chars, and... that's pretty much it.

His combos are obviously way above anyone else
I don't agree.

maybe ugly was the wrong word, but i've heard a bunch of comments about it being weird
Yeah, I wouldn't call it ugly but I would agree with weird

This.

IMO peek did for ness what sheer did for yoshi, at least very similar.

Peek vids definitely helped out my ness game when i was getting started.

Im at this weird point right now where my ness is much better against people who are better than me, and my falcon is much better against people who are worse than me.

I think I know how to counter most simple stuff. Its just that my falcon is better at approaching and my ness is better at not being approached.

I understand what you're saying but only half agree. He obv didn't influence people who already were playing Yoshi, like me, and maybe not you. But I know that people who enjoyed watching him and though his playstyle was cool, became more open to trying Yoshi out. You're telling me you haven't seen the influx of Yoshi players in the last year or two? (or players who play Yoshi more and more these days).

And new players- forget about it.

Also I agree with what Surri said, and it goes along with my point. People like watching Peek, and like his playstyle, and he's really good. So they want to try out Ness and emulate that playstyle to some degree.

The playstyle IS what sells the character.

Also, Isai's Yoshi is horrendous IMO. It's just uncomfortable to watch.

I mean, no offense. It's just weird.

I started playing Yoshi mainly due to the Sossi vs 358 video I saw in 2005. Most of my play style is influenced by Sossi and a little bit of Prince.

I think a lot of people online started playing Yoshi because of me back in like 2007/2008 when my Yoshi was clear head and shoulders above anyone else. I was doing things with Yoshi that literally no one outside of Japan was doing. I'm fairly certain a lot of people saw that and were influenced to try and pick him up.

That's just how smash goes, for any character. How many people wanted to pick up Pikachu after they saw Isai combo Johnny's Pika across the stage every stock back in the early days? Probably a ton of people.

Were all influenced by people we see and we all steal things from people were influenced by.

That is so true. After I saw Peek and Firo's Ness on Youtube when I was just starting to play the game I knew I wanted to play Ness. It also certainly helped that he starts off really good at low level play and gradually gets comparatively worse, and it is fun to play a character that is so virulently hated on these boards because if I lose I can just say "Smashboards unanimously says that Ness is the worst character in the game. Me barely losing against your Pikachu doesn't make you good".

Also Sheer your Yoshi is undeniably the gold standard for people trying to figure out how to play him who don't play online.

I never knew that Samus was considered so bad, I was always way better with her than Donkey Kong (minus the infinite throw trap)

In Tekken I use Law and Yoshi, I prefer 5 over 6. I also have an OK raven but it is not nearly as good as the other 2.
In SC I use Talim/Siggy
In SF I use Gouken and Dudley in the most recent iteration, Q/Dudley in 3rd.

don't own that console nor most other consoles sorry. I played at my previous college where we had some really wtfgood marvel/SF/tekken players.
I mean MarlinPie had issues with some people there in Marvel.

The tier list is a legitimate john, Isai didn't lose Apex because he wasn't good enough.
You choose to use the character. If you wanted to win you'd pick someone else. It isn't a john since it was your choice. I main Yoshi but I don't make excuses because I picked Yoshi. The only time it is a somewhat uable john is if it is a random char tournament but when is that done anyway?
P PS: If you personally random, then it was your choice to random
