You choose to use the character. If you wanted to win you'd pick someone else. It isn't a john since it was your choice. I main Yoshi but I don't make excuses because I picked Yoshi. The only time it is a somewhat uable john is if it is a random char tournament but when is that done anyway?
P PS: If you personally random, then it was your choice to random

Eh, but if you play a match against someone and they beat your Link as Pikachu on DL and start saying they are better than you because they beat you then you would say "no you only beat me because you were playing Pikachu against my Link on Dreamland.

Don't play link in tourney/MM/seriouslies

if you do, don't john about it because it was your choice to play him. They're better than you, and if a significant part of their being better was being better at picking characters, then that's that.

Friendlies are friendlies and you don't need johns because "it was a friendly" automatically covers everything

I used to main DK very long ago but I never knew how to play as him at a high level. Everything I was doing was just grabs, lol.

I started playing Yoshi after having played Sheer. And I started playing Ness after seeing Peek's, and lately Nangoku's.

I find Isai's Yoshi is good, but he's not a Yoshi.

link is moving up my list... I've gotten faster with him (and overall I suppose) but it really shows with link. I pretty much always have his sword out plus either a bomb or boomerang and it really helps my spacing. been playing my two friends who play (gay) kirbys on dream land as link and beat them a little more than half the time, and dominate them on hyrule now. before i'd get smoked on dream land in this matchup and go 50-50 on hyrule.

he's probably only behind the top 4 characters, maybe even with my mario

link is really easy to feel like you're doing well with, since when you use him on hyrule you're in a good campy position like 80% of the time and being totally buttpwned the rest of the time
