Dammit.

I'm the only G&W user here who hasn't uploaded recent vids of my G&W.

What the **** is wrong with me? I'm better than that. If only I could get to tournaments though....

I'll probably be switching my first main back to G&W anytime soon, just because of all the crazy stuff I can do with this character, and because ****, he doesn't get enough respect in general.
Who do you main? Mario? o-o?

Of course I main Mario. He's just too awesome for me to ignore. If you know me, I pick characters that I think matter. Mario is like...Mr. Nintendo lol. And G&W is like his grandfather or something lol.

I go Mario/G&W/Luigi in tournament, but indeed the characters I have spent the most time on are Mario, G&W, Ganon, ROB, and Luigi, in that order.

Time to change things. From this point on, my primary main is G&W.

Now I need to get to a tournament. =(

Yeah so guys as I was saying, my G&W is ****ing amazing.

Do more D-throw -> DA. It's awesome and works on everyone who misses a tech (or you can techchase them and still get them lmao)

And it owns people who think they can be a d*ck and tech in place.

Is it better to play with TJ on or off? I play with it off and I do better than with it on. But TJ on has alot of benefits with G&W.

I didn't play as well with TJ on but I like being able to UpB OoS. Any tips?

Without Tap Jump, the main benefit is easier SDI, but otherwise I always have it on for the purpose of Up-B and Up-smash out of shield.

I used to play with TJ off till about a year ago, when I realized it wasn't hard to play with it on. Honestly i prefer it that way to do OoS things, those extra frames you lose by dropping your shield can sometimes hurt you.
You just get used to it, now I play any character with default controls. Lolol.

Anyone else find ROB annoying to fight? I fight my friends ROB from time to time and I find it so hard to get in and get attacks off(But usually when I do I can deal alot of damage) because he spaces Fair, Dtilt, Utilt, Ftilt, etc.

Any tips?

Be more patient. Don't let him frustrate you. Use more fullhops to get in his blindspot.

ROB should really never win against G&W. He doesn't have the tools to stop G&W from fooling around in his blindspot, especially because his shield is one of the worst in the game by far. And when he's offstage or above G&W, it's basically game over for him lol. To make things overkill on Battlefield, he's tall enough that you can sit on the platform and D-tilt camp him.

Thanks for the tips.

When I Dtilt on the platforms, DDDs and ROBs just run under it and hit me, even while the hitbox is out, it just makes this little effect where I whiffed them. :/

I don't have a full list, but I know that against ROB, Snake, Bowser, Ganon, Donkey Kong, and I think Charizard, you can pretty much force them to edgeroll since this will punish them for any other getup.

It works on D3 but keep in mind, his <100% ledge attack does reach the platform. Against D3, you want to edgeguard him with Chef if possible.

No worries, Bio. I had a ROB problem, too.

I just realized that you need to be patient.A lthoguh the Rob I fought and won against was an aggressive Rob and there are different ones. A2 made some good points! It's suppose to be bad for Rob. I noticed a lot of short hop bair works perfectly. Because he usually gets hit. Obviously space it well! When he's hit he's in the air, so a lot of nair and uair. Uair him if he's going to nair then go for a nair. And yeah. BF is good against bigger characters. XP

Thats what I did. When A2 mentioned his "blind spot" I did alot of full hopped Fairs and there was practicaly nothing he could do. I follwed up with 3rd hit Nair to Dsmash and got him in the air, it was all over for him. XD

I managed to stay just outside his range for the most part and countered alot of what he tried to do with Dtilt. ROB is so easy to fight in the air.

So anyhow I've come to the conclusion that G&W beats Snake.

Until he ****s up and gets U-tilted at 80-90%.

Point remains...he's really good in the Snake matchup. Until you screw up.

Wait how do you kill Snake?

I've talked with Leepuff about this.
Snake is really easy to rack up damage on the 1st stock and stuff, and you can get him to about 130% and you'll be at like 40%, but if he's good, you wont kill him and he'll F tilt you like twice and then U tilt you, and then live on and **** you some more as you try to D smash him or something.

You have many options.

F-air when fresh will eventually KO him and you have a TON of ways of landing that move. U-air can sometimes kill him but will usually be stale. N-air -> D-smash is reliable if you can land that N-air (3rd hit of N-air combos into D-smash at all percents, 1st hit of N-air only combos at kill percents). Shield his ledge attack -> free Up-smash. Juggle bait -> Up-smash/D-smash.

Use more D-throw DA btw. You can shieldgrab him out of the 1st hit of F-tilt every time if you're expecting it as well in close range.

I don't know exactly what I do against Snake that works so well. I think I just play super patient and focus on not making mistakes. Each mistake = 20-30 damage and it sucks. Here are some vids if you guys want.

More D-throw Dash Attack. =P

Against Fogo, I always felt like you could have tried for more grabs instead of just aerial rushdown all the time, which is mainly great when juggling him or punishing his F-tilt. Oh yeah and you didn't use much U-air in those matches.
