Oh and Oh yeah Zac remember that day you were joking about Oos options and you said Usmash? I think it was the next day I was trying to drop through the smashville platform and Uair Oos and accidentally upsmashed and got a KO that way. The person I was playing was like "wow... upsmash out of shield..." And I laughed because I immediately thought of you lol

I used to change mains on a monthly basis (not that bad, but pretty close) but for some reason I didn't change after GnW, and then I found myself playing R.O.B. again too. Funny how things work out.

The only character I can permanently stick to without changing is MK. Sup.
Oh well, I'll have to deal with a borderline bannable character then.

I really like using Ganon. Even though anyone who knows what they're doing kills me. It's satisfying to get a good read and SH Dair KO someone at 100%ish. His spike's incredible and he's fun in friendly doubles.
My characters I use rank, in terms of my skill with them:
Link/Zelda, Wolf, G&W/Ganon, PT/ Ike/ most other characters/ Sonic, Lucario (I abysmally suck with these 2).

I like fighting against ganons. I just use falco and spam lasers and watch him get *****.

Don't blame me, I've only unlocked Mew2 once and then got my file erased and barely got to use 'im.

Mewtwo's tail made him a large lightweight. His recovery was one of the best but he wasn't a stock tank. I didn't start playing competitively until Brawl so I don't know the Melee tiers.

If Melee Mewtwo appeared in Brawl his recovery would be mediocre. Brawl has 1terrible recoveries (Link, Ganon, Ivy etc), 2bad (Zelda, Mario, Olimar etc), 3average (Marth, DK, C Falcon, Wolf etc), 4great (Jiggz, G&W, Kirby, Luigi etc), and then there's 5ridiculous recoveries (MK, Pit, ROB, and Wario). The difference is absurd:
....1....2......3................4..................................................................................5.

Can G&W pass under FD?

G&W's recovery is great but not ridiculous. MK has 6 jumps, gliding and UpB or forwardB; his air options that he can safely recover after are insanely broken. That's what I'm getting at is how broken and how much better some recoveries are.

Is it true that practicing against a lvl 3 CPU is better than a lvl 9 one? Why?

I don't have people to practice with alot of the times, and wifi isn't an option if you need precision in your play. For example, there's this Lucas that 2-stocks my gaw on wifi. I fought him yesterday/today early and beat him pretty easily offline.

I think it's alright if you guys say he isn't as good as alot of people think. He looks great on paper, but in practice, he became predictable.

I still don't think he's worse than lolcario.

Lucario has a lot of options... his projectile and aura are quite effective...

Anyway, I chalk up GW's fall in the tiers to the fact that many people are not playing him as much and his folks are deciding to go Ice Climbers or MetaKnight instead.

Which leaves a bunch of dedicated scrubs or die-hards to try and keep GW going.

Lucario without Aura or even a set medium strength Aura would be around mid/low mid tier. He has good options. The Aura boost eventually adds broken power to his moves and makes him a threat.

Now I play no high tiers. That seems about where G&W should be ranked.

****Jiggz is above Link again. Not a surprise. I think Samus, Bowser, Falcon, Jiggz and Link are basically even. They have different strong and weak traits and MUs but suck equally. I sometimes think combining the good aspects of two of those characters in to 1 character would make a high tier. Link with C Falcon's mobility/speed/recovery, Bowser with Samus' missiles and Zair, any of them with Links bombs (think of Jiggz with bombs instead of sing), and so on.

Olimar skyrocketed! +6! Yoshi used to be a low tier; he's climbing the ladder. Top Ts Snake and Falco dropped the ball; same goes for Mid Ts Luigi and DK. The tiers are more or less set by now; character might shuffle around in their tier a little and occationally move up or down a tier but I don't predict any huge shake ups in the future. Aside from the MK ban but even without him the tiers are stable.

I don't fully understand why Ness is a tier above Lucas. Ness has some killer setups and more power but his recovery is so limited. Lucas isn't a killing machine like Ness but his recoveries and general movements are much longer and safer. They seem sort of even as a tradeoff.

Rizen I would imagine that some of it has to do with that Lucas' down and up smashes are very slow, and honestly the PK fire with blast is not as good as the flame pillar, IMO.

I know and agree. Off stage if someone eats Ness' second jump he can only PKThunder and if the head touches anything he's dead. Lucas can PKT2 farther and PKT1 can go through interceptors and save him, he can PSI magnet jump long distances and tether the edge. I think that's a fair tradeoff.

Apparently it just doesn't add up? I dunno, I tried playing Lucas, I couldn't get into him. I still prefer Ness, he just feels like a more straight-forward killing character.

Yeah, I think Ness and Lucas are pretty even. But I think Lucas is a little better. I wouldn't consider Ness a "killing machine" either. Lucas' F-Smash is only slightly weaker than Ness'.

By the way, when training against CPUs, is it best to go with lvl 3 ones rather than lvl 9 ones?
