I wish I had a better idea of the capacity of the venue. The only time I saw it, it was being used for temporary storage, so it made it look... small. Really, really small. Me and Palpi aren't looking for a big turnout for our first tournament. Of course we'd love to have a good turnout, but we want to play it safe considering that we don't know for sure how much the venue can handle, and it's our first tournament.

If I were to bring 2-3 TVs to chill and play melee/64/brawl/b+/whatever friendlies on one of them would that be cool? This is only like 15-20 mins away from me xD
Sounds great to me.

I want to see if my three hours of Melee since Brawl's release has made me epically amazing yet. What am I saying, of course it has. I'm a champion.

Was I supposed to just straight up request membership in the userCP or was there a thread for it? I figured I'd need specific permission to apply in the userCP before doing so if that was the case like for the WBR and SBR-M.

I also want to see if my 3 hours of SSB64 since Melee's release has made me amazing, lol.

I am positive that they sell Magic: The Gathering, so I would definetely assume that they sell Yugioh cards.

Basically, I would put money on them having it :)

yea for real, DDD's standing infinite and small step CG should be banned, they are banned at plenty of places. just limit it so DDD has to dash between grabs

this should be cool

Just got back from the venue with Palpi.

We were expecting the shop owner to clean the basement... but he didn't. So we spent the last hour clearing out what we could (I'm talking, boxes stacked high of random crap). It's looking pretty good, but there was a lot of stuff we couldn't move out - large shelves and **** - that I wish we could have to make more space.

But, it's looking a lot better than I remember. We're going to go back tomorrow and sweep up the place.

So far there is only 3 spots where we can fit doubles set-ups, so obviously no friendlies or MM's while the tourney is running.

Luckily doubles moves twice as fast. There is room for 6-8 set-ups though.

Yeah, try to keep MM's to a minimum, and if you can wait, maybe get them in afterward. I'm hoping this tournament ends reasonably - we're planning for everything to be done and gone by 10-10:30ish.

any bets on who is gonna win doubles?

edit: whats the order of events? low tiers > doubles > singles?

Sonic hasn't won any of the local low tier events, thus far anyways.\

I will prolly be Doubles, Singles, Low-tier singles. I think getting doubles out of the way would be great, since there isn't that much seating area for more than 3 doubles set ups.

I NEED to leave by 10:30 just to warn everyone..

It will be done before then though.

I agree that he is a low tier character, I just don't agree in not following the SBR low tier list. I don't think it's perfect, but once you change one thing (Sonic), then plenty of things can be questioned. I certainly do not think Bowser is a low tier character for instance.

Not saying you should change it, cause I wanna enter with Sonic lol

LT singles will have less entrants than singles. If you do lt and doubles right away(since you said you have only 3 doubles spaces) you can finish both early and have singles go very fast.

As long as inui has dq power, dont worry about friendlies

I guess we could do LT singles and doubles at the same time.

We were trying to improvise with space / setups today.

Melo and I are going back to sweep and clear more space for set-ups tomorrow. We SHOULD have room for 7 setups.

I agree both with what Kai said and the other option.

Running low tiers first does exactly what Kai said it would, leaves lots of setups for singles. Running it after the two regular events means that the essentials (sorry, low tier players) are 100% out of the way before the side event begins.

Yeah, it is a good idea. The reasoning behind doing low-tiers last is because it is obviously the least important so if by some terrible chance we need to end early a refund (of low-tier money) wouldn't be totally absurd.

Doing LT+Doubles will be very quick.

Aww but then I can't CP your DK :D

aiight :)
this did mean its banned right? lol just makin sure

if u wanna make sure everything runs on time, you could start low tiers a half hour earlier starting at noon prompt. it leaves enough time for ppl arriving on the 11:30am train to get there just in time and it will get 1-3 rounds of the low tiers bracket out of the way before doubles has to start, clearing up even more setups. plus, since low tiers is the least important, it wont be too big of a deal if it starts promptly and some ppl miss it. the ppl who really wanna go for low tiers (inui, kai, etc) should have the drive to make sure they are there by 12. plus, 12 isnt even early lol.
