pocky is breeding but i think he only does it for one stat or two stats at most

i like shoddy battle because i dont have to worry about it

i REALLY just wish ivs didnt exist so you could just breed the right nature then ev train

i got tired of breeding for good ivs so i made a rant on smogon about how hacking stats should be legal

imo winning battles should come down to team composition and predicting moves rather than how many hours you spend running up and down a path

more like a training style than a personality

edit: also smogons competitive breeding scene is still kind of dumb anyway, because only one person needs to get a perfect dratini, then you just have to earn it from somone who has trading rights on it

for about a month i legitimately tried to get good iv's and natures to ev train
not for shoddy or anything for realsies
me and orange county smasher kilo had a high stakes fine dinner money match in pokemon
lowest tier only, no cheating, no starters, no legendaries, crazy ruleset. i just wanted to **** him.
i had fun doing it kind of, but it was a disgusting time sink.
and if youre going to a tournament where everyone's hacked adamant 31/31/31/31/31/31 and youre 14/30/12/22/31/27 its just not going to cut it
i do have mad respect for competitive breeders, but thats **** is realyl weird

lol as much as i hate ev training i have to...its the only thing i like doin besides training my brothers pokes...i guess im weird with the game..
and anyone with platinum should give my their fc/hit me up on aim
ive been trying to do battle tower but some of the people i have dont have platinum

i generally just do it while watching tv or something though, as I can't really imagine doing it intensively

i got a really sweet vaporeon the other day (all high 20s and 30s except attack), my other dudes are just mediocre (just max speed/attack and then "acceptable" defenses)

i'm definitely going to make sure to get a phenomenal HONCHKROW though

i gave up after like a week of getting jack ****

i generally have spent about 6-8 hours to get 2-3 perfect EVs and the right nature (not all at the same time)

but yeah it can be boring

max hp and defense are mostly what matters (which it has)

something like 25-28 sp def is good enough because that's not its main use

max special attack isn't necessary but it's nice (i do have that)

not necessary to outspeed much of anything either, since i won't be outspeeding anything that taunts anyway

i can't run hp electric i guess but too bad!
