Oxnard Brawl/Melee Tournament 2
Saturday, Sunday April 11-12 (tentative)
Café on A / Rudy Acuña Art Gallery
438 S. A Street
Oxnard, California

Oxnard was a huge success last time around, and people have been wondering when the next one will be. Well, we now have a tentative date for it, and we want to see what people have to say about the following changes:

1. Registration
Singles - $5
Doubles - $10
Venue Fee - $5 (one time)

2. Scheduling
Brawl Singles and Doubles (Saturday, April 11th)
Melee Singles and Doubles (Sunday, April 12th)

3. Side Stations
Both Street Fighter 4 and Super Turbo HD Remix will be out on Xbox 360 and PS3 by then. Not only will we need at least one of these games on at all times, we may even consider holding tournaments for them if there is enough interest.

4. Food
????

5. Raffle Prizes
????

We are most interested in running quality tournaments, so if you went to the first Oxnard, please let us know what we can improve upon. Otherwise, just tell us what you would like to see for this one.

I'm in. But let's do this like 3 times from now until April, and then do it in April again.

This is the only tourney venue that's fewer than 3 hours away from me, let's keep em coming!

So I guess we're having 64. I'll schedule it on the same day as Melee with the same registration costs. $5 one-time venue fee (your paid venue fee from Melee will carry over), with $5 to enter the tournament. The question is... do I just do singles or should I have doubles as well?

Oh, come on... $5 bucks? Most of you who don't want to enter 64 because of the entry fee are already entering other tournaments, so you won't have to pay the venue fee again. But for the people who are pro at 64 and are coming for it as their main event, why not give them the same pot? There will be fewer entrants in 64 anyways, so their pot will already have smaller amount to distribute as prizes. If you reduce the registration then the 64 smashers who may have reserved their entire day for 64 may end up getting 2nd or 3rd and get like $10. That's not cool.

But if fewer people enter because the price is higher then the pot stays lower...

64 should have 64 dollar payout lol.

You made this up. Have them show that enough of those people exist before assuming it. That's the job of a good TO. Cover your *** first. No homo.

That's not cool.
Ahahaha it's not that serious, it's a side event

I kind of agree with mio, I mean its only a $2 difference. However I don't want to discourage people from joining either :/

I have a feeling people that live further and are good at 64 would be more likely to make the trip for a 5 dollar buy-in.

what does everyone else think?

I wouldn't even dream of entering 64 if it's five bucks but if it's $2 (very likely) or $3 (probably not) I could be convinced.

If you want a good turnout, you'll have to convince a lot of people to play 64 again. If you want the casual player, make it lower.
