Old Manondof teams with no one but himself.
True. Captain Falcon is too powerful to go doubles.

he's very talented, and i think in a league of his own... it's not the accurate WORKING/MOVING models, and it's not his detailed suit... it's the fact that he can basically imitate the gestures frame by frame with an eerie accuracy usually reserved for computer recreations... that teabagging motion was flawless

good to see more new blood coming out :) you old timers can't let us new folk show you up can you?
I wouldn't encourage the guy. He is clearly sick in the head and lonely as f**k to make cardboard guns and to run around in cardboard armor. I'm sure if Bungie were to see this they would all commit suicide or run straight into a Falcon knee.

There is normal people, fanboys then him. Sickly impressive yet sick none the less.

Well, I say that, but at first I thought it would be too long of a trek, but looking at it again, I really want to. I actually remember you, ThatGuy, from ToS, and if you traveled all the way here from quebec, It must not be too far. By the way, I'd like to ask some transport questions. Did you drive here, or did you bus? If you bused, then do you recoment any routes?

Who here is considering going to this tourney? If Im still in the country at that time then I would consider going myself but only if I had a drive, of course Id help with gas and what not.

I would enjoy going. Ben better be ready to team KingAce with me.

If I got I ride, I definitely wouldn't mind pitching for gas, either. If people wanna bus, I'll be a bus-person with them.

lol oh ok! awesome, i meant to get your numbers and such but you guys left sneakily before I had the chance

andrew - i dunno if I should go to that or a cottage party that weekend, so i'm un-decided at the moment, though if a ride was garunteed that may help my decision out a bit (again, can pitch gas), also, give me a call if you want to smash it up tonight

Yeah, we should get a tally of whoever is interested in going to that Montreal tournament so we can better organize things. I'm definitely down but transportation is an issue. If I need to I MIGHT get a Greyhound but I might end up accidentally stabbing, decapitating and eating whoever sits next to me. :psycho:

Jobin, you're wrong about that Halo kid. If Microsoft/Bungie see that video they'll immediately start work on Halo 4. :urg:

I think I might not actually go to the tournament, buy Street Fighter IV, or even pay off my OSAP loan anymore. No, I need to start saving up for my PS4! Alone in the Dark (PS4 version) seems pretty **** cool (better than most Wii games at least).

That match was. . . BANANAS!

Lol, ya it sounded like it was you. How you been, btw, I haven't heard from you in a while. Are you planning on heading out to Montreal?

Oh, I totally agree. I'd really like to go, since it will be the last big tourney before the summer ends, but trasportation is deffenently the issue. We should orginize this as best as we can, so, everyone who wants to go, make a post after this one saying so, and we'll keep a running total.

Aww, please that bus incedent was horrible. The moral of the story is never fall asleep. Ever. How much would it be to rent one? Hopefully less after the incedent. Or would it be simpler to find a good bus root?

Pfft. Where I come from it happens on a daily basis. At least it would if those **** Nicaraguans could stop killing each other (or simply loafing about) enough to get buses running. And hey, just imagine how much fear I'll strike into my opponents at that Montreal tournament if they hear that I just killed, decapitated, and ate a man on a bus, AND I play as Lucas. They'd be terrified! If not for the killing than at least for the incoming projectile spam.

Azrealt: When are you coming to another biweekly? My Lucas is pitching a tent and has some marshmellows ready...

In Ottawa? *Raises Eyebrow* Dude, I live here, too. No, I'm pretty sure people stabbing others on buses, eating pieces off them, and then trying to escape with a doggie bag contaning an ear, a nose and a piece of lip does not happen every day.

For ToS5, I got a lift with zaf. He rented a van and we chipped for gas.

I've been to Ottawa for every ToS though, so I took the bus most of the time. It's $57.40 each way if you get off in Kirkland (if you buy your tickets 1 day in advance, else it's $63.45). If you have the proper student identification, it becomes $43.50 each way. I chose the path from the Ottawa, ON station to the Kirkland, QC station though, so prices might vary if you check out other Ottawa stations.

http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1825469/ The sad part is that I believe that this woman is genuine (since I get a bunch of those at work).

By the way, who's going to Smashfest tomorrow? I want to know in advance who I'll be beasting.

By the way 2, I ordered an arcade stick about five minutes ago from play-asia (the cheapest one I could find - it shows but it still works fine) and I got it this morning, coincidentally RIGHT as I was about to play Street Fighter. It was a divine sign that I must get back into Street Fighter!

What is even more sad was that the lady didn't know that it was Nitrous Oxide in her water supply, which would explain all those funky colors appearing in the water, (seriously, who doesn't know that).

Edumacation is overrated.

Ill be going to smashfest tomorrow and I plan on playing both games so expect to be 3 stocked as usual :p (not in melee). Oh snap you got a joystick? How much was it? Looks like ill have to get one now.

Thanks for the info Joel, although Ill still prefer taking a car at those prices.

HAVEN'T YOU HEARD!?! Smashfests were canclled since the discovery of weird colors in our water supply.

On a more serious note, there is a smashfest today though, starts at 5.

A lot of people have lost or begun to lose interest in Brawl. The result of this is people are playing other fighting game as Smashfest or people are not showing up.

I for one will be coming. I still have some Brawl in me left. I'm always up for some fun matches and crazy schemes.

Hey all, It's Justin. I'm not going to be there today. I'm feeling like crap so I won't be able to kick Harold's but with Old Mannondorf. I'll make it for the bi-weekly unless I die or something horrible. First it's Greyhound buses, next it could be OC Transpo!

I was getting a tad worried on the fate of Brawl but today was a very fun day with good battles all around. Except for the matches that I lost. Those sucked.

The highlight of my night, Brawl-wise, was my Lucas' epic sky battle against Railee's (I doubt that's how you spell it but my way is cooler) ROB. Four minutes of my trying to spike him and him not wanting to be spiked.

For all the Street Fighter fans though, I must seriously recommend getting GGPO. It's this online thingy that provides virtually lag-less gameplay. Seriously. This is the greatest program I've ever seen. It seriously feels like you're playing right beside the person. It's also showing me that I suck ROYALLY at Street Fighter. But still, good god, this GGPO thing is going to change the whole ****ing world! Seriously!

Justin: No worries about OC Transpo, everybody who's on it is rowdy enough that they'd react at the smallest glimer of a knife/hatchet/sword/goplayGGPO...

Yeah the smashfest was totally fun, thanks Fogel, and everyone I played with/against.
I gotta learn not to smash my teammate so much in doubles :urg: sorry PND :D

I'll try and learn the IC chaingrabs for next time, so I don't have to rely so much on blizzard spam :p although I guess that just makes ICs cheaper.... mwaha....

PNDMike and crew: You guys forgot your bag with a Wii + 3/4 controllers. Let me know if you want to make arrangements to pick it up sometime, or I can just give it back next time you guys are around for a smashfest.

Yes smash was very good. I didn't have that many friendlies in a long while. There was so much Captain Falcon and Old Manondof! Good random battles too. Derek and I Captain Falcon team all the way!

Remember:

Yeah, when are you free next? We grabbed the wrong bag on the way out. We're free to pick it up whenever.

This is a relief though, because we thought we had left it in the car last night, and all the doors were unlocked this morning. I was freaking right out.

Nah man, it was all good. Jiggs / IC was actually a pretty solid combo though, I was impressed. We should experiment with it more sometime.

Oh, and Andrew. I'm gonna win our next ditto. Fo sho.

And Haze should have got arrested for hitting 9 with a hammer.

The SBR Brawl Rule List is out, check it out if you're interested:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=187735

Personally I think some of those counterpick stages are questionable at best. A few levels have permanent walk-off edges. Pictochat? Also, most of the Counter/Banned section are LOL stages and IMO they should just be straight up banned. At least they banned Hanenbow :p

I'll be home the rest of the weekend, so if you're around you can stop by whenever (provided it isn't too late). During the week is more spotty, I'm out Monday and Thursday nights at least, Tuesday/Wednesday I should be around but it depends what else happens that week.

I took a look at the rules they set up...It doesn't seem that much different from our bi-weekly rules besides the different stage, I think it is best to just stick to our rules, since everyone is used to them and the whole of EC seems to play like that.

Also, I might not be here this week as I might go on a family trip, so I trust so willing volunteer will set up the registrations and update it when someone does register.

I agree actually, just figured I'd post the link up for discussion.

As for the biweekly, I can take care of registrations for one week. I probably won't be able to play in the tourney because I may be on call though.

Okay, could I stop by tomorrow around noon? I miss Brawl already >_>
No problem.

I prefer Randy's rules over these ones (although they are quite similar). What I don't like is how they have matches going to 8 minutes (some matches are going to be way too long, especially against Metaknight where you have to really pick your shots), how many annoying (but very fun on a friendly basis) levels are counters (Pirate **** and Pictochat come to mind), and how Bowser is considered the winner if he suicides and it goes sudden death.

Any progress/word on that Montreal thingy? If I recall correctly the guy who was not Mike, Dave, or Railee (sorry, but I somehow didn't remember your name even though we played quite a bit) mentioned possibly driving?

Some of the counters are weird for sure. Lol even longer matches now, oh well.

Ill enter the bi-weekly, anyone wanna team? Assuming Cameron wont be able to play. Also put me down for a spot to Montreal, looks like ill be in Canada on that day.

Ben: Coming to the next bi-weekly?

If not: and if Cam is on call: Orlando: I'd like to team with you if you'd be interested.

Mike: I look forward to our next match! I switched chars after our first round because I wanted experience fighting jiggs with another one of my mains, and you said you were heading out shortly.
