Omaha, NE FFC Dec/Jan SSBM tournaments

I'm seriously starting to get psyched for this tourney. Now that I'm starting to get to know a few of these people it makes it more interesting.

-I want to see the Yosh master finish in the top 5. His Yoshi is quite technically impressive and I think he's taken some rough draws.

-I must beat Knox's ness. I underrated ness before and dan is really quite good with SH his fairs and bairs. Owned me royally at the last tourney. At least I beat his Yosh, but I get the impression he was taking it easy on me.

-I wanna play mo more. I think our Marth's are quite even and I've improved a few things on him. I'd like to see how it holds up with Mo.

-Mario_1234, we have to do a friendly so you can own me.

-And I'd like to see Mike take on Dark rain. I don't think he'll win(In fact I believe it happend at the Dec tourney and I just missed it) But I believe it would, at the very least, be enjoyable to watch.

Playing me and Mike some more can be arranged quite easily. I just need to get around to calling you or I guess your buddy with that number you left me. We smashed the other day, but the weather/roads are so bad right now that getting more people is out of the question. I was winning some games for awhile but we switched up characters to his Marth against my Fox and it was a very interesting and I thought fun match-up. I was using some tricks I learned from some of the videos off CJ's website and they work quite nicely :-P

Gah Phat I really wanted some more practice against Sheik...oh well. We will make it down there sometime, this I know, and we need to have a few matches for sure. Like Tacoom said, hopefully this will be a regular thing up in Omaha though.

Edit: How many people in Omaha would be interested in a weekly or bi-weekly Smash session? Since Mike and I play at least a couple times a week whenever we both are off work, we were wondering if we could possibly find a day that alot of people would be off work for Smash? I figure most students work on weekends, so it'd probably be during the week. Me and Mike smash regardless and people are always welcome to join in, but its not really anything scheduled. We could make it so if other people around here would be interested.

Hey Red, Id love to take top 5 with my Yosh but its so hard playing as a Mid tier guy, and some of the Top Tier guys are my weakness. Like Marth. But I love racking up a fan club.

Heh Dan I don't really think it's possible to train against DK since nobody around here plays him. Just have to play it by ear I guess.

Marth is NOT Yoshi's weakness lol...some people think Yoshi has an advantage over Marth because DJC negates alot of Marth's power. His Crouch cancel is great too. Sheik, on the other hand, can chain grab Yoshi with extreme ease. Now THAT would not be fun, not that I would really know...

I missed the first one, but I'm going to try my best to be at this one. The only thing that would really stop me would be the weather. Hopefullly it will clear up by then.

Will there be a place for me to stay over there? And, Aaron #3, do you still need a partner?

Sorry to Tacoom and Omaha, but looks like people are gonna have to try to make it down here for a tourney. I'll see what I can do and check about renting someplace out for either a smashfest or tourney. I wouldn't count on it being anytime soon though.

I hope more people decide to show for this one. The last tourney was down some from the first. The main problem last time is that there was not nearly as many crappy players that just wasted their money. Hopefully more people will come.

Yeah I'm definitely hoping for a bigger turnout, although competition was ALOT ALOT ALOT better this time than it was last time.

EB you should definitely make your way over. It's loads of fun and we can get a couple friendlies in for sure cuz I wanna see the Luigi again and the Sheik you were gonna use but didn't get around to :-P

I'd like to see if we could get a smash session in some time before the tourney Jeff. Even if we don't, I'm looking forward to see if you can repeat your performance from last time, with your upset over Mike. Then you ran into the Peach spammer....but he's really not that hard if you see his tricks coming.

OK, here's the deal. I have spoken with the parents, and they are now considering letting me go again. If I go, then I will contact you jimi on getting a ride. Maybe we could have some smashing next week and someone(either you or david) can talk to my parents about the ride.

For those who didn't understand what I just said, I will simplify it for you.

Hey Dragon and FaceLoran, There might be a chance that I wont be able to make it since Ice deiced to throw my car into a curve and screwed up my braking system. If anything I could drive my moms car but that means that I could only come on Saturday then probably leave that night. Since my parents are paranoid about Omaha.

EDIT.......I just found out that the tourney is on a SUNDAY the 23rd. This is such a load of crap. Apparently they've decided the Halo2 tournament is more important and put that on a Saturday. I'm going to have to take ANOTHER Sunday off in addition to Super Bowl Sunday now, and Sunday is when I get most of my hours. Just hope everyone realizes that its on a SUNDAY. I hate Microsoft.

Had my first Melee session in months last night. ****, this is gonna hurt on Sunday.

I'm just kind of wondering how this all is gonna be set up. Is it going to be 1 game at a time on the big screen, or will there be more than one going at a time? Also, If I wanted to bring my 'cube and my portable screen, would that be cool, or will FFC have a problem with me playing my games for free in their arcade?

For the record, you'll have at least 2 new dead money entries at this tourney. :D

That is really lame they put the tourney on a Sunday. Would it even be worth it for some of you to enter like money wise? Anyways with the date I bet many people won't be able to attend.

FYI last time there were 4 tv's going at one time and it got done relatively quickly. I severely doubt FFC would allow anything that they themselves didn't approve.

I'm pretty sure us Lawrencians(me, dmac, luckey(antx), smith?, dyc, aaron, z?, jesi?) are still coming. Dmac is the ride-provider, though, so if sunday screws up his schedule, i'm not sure if we'll be there. I'll wait for him to respond, though.
